Starrypaw was in her customary spot in camp, hidden in the shadows. She really wanted to talk to Willowtail.

Willowtail had just come back from the patrol she'd been sent on to find Dusklion, coming back with no prevail the new warrior padded towards the fresh-kill pile. Not seeing Starrypaw nearby

"Willowtail?" asked Starrypaw soft but just loud enough to hear, coming out of the the shadows. "Can I talk to you?"

Willowtail turned as she heard her name, seeing Starrypaw the dim look she had lit up. "Of course!' The warrior purred, her long tail flicking upwards as she padded to her friend, licking her ear in greeting and sitting beside her, the same spot she had last time they spoke. "Whats up?" Willowtail purred gently

well then, wasn't he enthusiastic. she had to say, she was rather enthused herself. to finally find a compatriot as willing to explore as she was, now that was nice. "i, am her majesty, ashenkit! what is it you wished to be called?" she had closed her eyes as she spoke, lifting her head to the heavens. it was only when she opened them once again that she realized the victim of her show had disappeared/ "yes, yes, adventure! now halt! i'm important!" she couldn't be left behind! ashenkit was supposed to find their adventure, but she supposed she'd permit for russetkit to lead the way. he could be a knight in her kingdom!
Beastflame lounged, being his brooding self. The news of Mistyshard's pregnancy had him in his thoughts frequently. Of course he was happy for her, and he couldn't say he wasn't a little bit excited to meet his kin. But this was a lot.
First of all, Mistyshard was great. He liked her a lot, obviously. They were friends, and he respected her. But they weren't mates, at least, not that he was aware of. So there was the question of their relationship, and how it would impact his relationship with the kits. And secondly, kits! Beastflame was notoriously terrible with children. Like, horrid. He had no patience for their antics and little tolerance for the noise level. So naturally, he was quite confused.

The news of Mistyshard's pregnancy had quite... shaked her. Mistyshard had been the cat who had sworn to protect the siblings after she'd rescued them, so why had she wanted more kits? Weren't they enough for her? This didn't make any sense, except if... she didn't actually quite like them. In fact, she hadn't spent any time with them recently. And Starrykit had started to feel an orphan again.
A big cat seemed thoughtful, too, in this fresh evening. She didn't know the cat's name, of course, as she never interacted with a cat on her own, but she thought she'd seen him around Mistyshard in her den sometimes. He must be one of her friends, she thought.
And now, the most dreadful realization so far... Mistyshard had had time for friends, but not for her. Not for Elderkit.
It was too much. The little kit with a hollow stomach started crying, but not in a childish way. She let the shiny drops wet her cheeks silently, without sobbing and such.
She used her paw to wipe them away, but they kept coming. Maybe she should disappear.
Floodsight ◆ she/her | 20 moons
After the brief encounter with Owltalon who caught Floodsight's blunder, she padded tiredly into the makeshift RiverClan camp. 'Augh, that was so stupid of me! To give in to a kit?' Floodsight shook her head, 'Such a dumb mistake at that.' Floodsight passed by the nursery and was reminded by the recent announcement. Mistyshard was expecting kits! Floodsight's mood brightened a little, but an eternal scowl still sits on her scarred face. Kits were adorable, a bundle of joy to be around. Emotional little ones that were definitely an entertainment to watch. Even someone who was as stone-faced as Floodsight would softened when seeing the little furballs bounding around in camp.
[ Starrykit @/Wingnettle ]
Suddenly, in the corner, Floodsight could hear something faint. 'There's some there?' It sounded like a slight heavy breathing just around the corner. After further inspection, Floodsight finds Starrykit crying silently, and seeing the sad kit just stabbed Floodsight's heart just a bit. Feeling a little bit sociable today, Floodsight tried to use the softest voice she could, "What's wrong?"
[ Beastflame @/ophelia ]
Standing tails lengths away was Beastflame who seemed to stare off into space with thought. Or was it melancholy? Or...whatever, Floodsight was never good at reading faces either way. Watching these two cats makes her more bewildered. As confused as she was at the situation, Beastflame looked more confused than she was. "And you, what's your problem?" Floodsight called out, staring at the warrior. 'Augh...that came out too harsh...' Floodsight thought.
[Hope you guys don't mind me running into this one]
Seemed the other warrior who was supposed to come with them decided to skip instead, Falconflight would have to just go on with the apprentice. Pacing quickly through the territory and keeping an eye out for any prey that might be out in the open. It was weird hunting in the mountains, but they had to make do.
"Meet ya back here. Call if ya need anything." the grey tabby mumured briefly, before stalking off without a second glance. After a few moments he caught the scent of a mouse. Getting right to tracking, Falconflight soon found the plump rodent nosing around a few shrubs. Dropping into a hunting crouch, he pounced and killed it swiftly with a bite to the spine. Satisfied with his catch, he made his way back to the meeting spot, prey hanging limply from his jaws
What the hell... her clanmates would never grow smarter, would they?! Mistyshard had a big frown on her face as she joined Fadingstar, Rainpaw and Cloudsong. She surveyed Cloudsong for any reaction, then turned her attention to Rainpaw. She wasn't sure how to get herbs out of a cat's system yet, so maybe she could just make sure the apprentice had not given any poisonous herbs to Cloudsong... tail lashing from side to side angrily, the medicine cat pinned her ears back and questioned Rainpaw.
"What did you give him? Can you tell me what it looked like.. the shape, color, smell? Anything?"
Beaverpaw watched as Falconflight went off.
Oh noooooo.
He didn't know what he was doing!
He didn't know how to hunt!
He was still standing there in a bit of a panic when Falconflight got back.
"I dunno how to hunt." He quickly said skittishly.
He was just apprenticed, of course he didn't know yet!
Oh great. Now he had to train a random apprentice because their mentor couldn't be bothered to actually train them. Mabye he should file a complaint. "You should have said so before we left." Falconflight muttered through the fur of the mouse he was holding. It would've been easier if Beaverpaw had just said so in the first place, then he'd have more time to train them.
With a roll of his orange hues, the warrior placed his catch down and demonstrated a hunting crouch. "Keep your tail off the ground but not so high that prey can see you, keep your paws spread out so you fall over and tread lightly. Follow a scent til' it gets stronger. Oh, and stay down wind." A bit rushed mabye but Falconflight just wanted to go home...and mabye complain to Fadingstar about incompetent mentors.
