The way his pelt tingled and stood on end was alert enough as Blazingstar felt a darker presence enter his surroundings. His head shot upwards, and he was on his paws in an instant, searching the source. Then, there it lay, comfy in the corner of the camp. StarClan's camp was clearly lacking in security, not that it'd been infiltrated in his time here. Even with his recent dream interactions, cats were lacking the faith it took to keep their borders up apparently.

"What do you think you're doing?" Blazingstar's growl rose from his chest as the golden tom approached the Dark Forest cat. "You outta head back to your side of the border before things get ugly."

Blazingstar hoped this cat would just cooperate. He really didn't feel like dragging someone out by their tail. It wasn't really what this peaceful afterlife was about, right? He should've been able to just chill here, but no. Instead, he had to still deal with intruders. Lame.

The long and short of it was: Nightwalker was bored. His useless son Hawkfur had stopped visiting him in his dreams—he had a sneaking suspicion it was because of that ridiculous little “family” he had started that was preventing him from having nightmares. Ugh—and because of this he had run out of family to talk to. Not that he actually enjoyed talking to the little wretch, but it was something to do. His failed legacy had to live on, even if his weak-willed son was too cowardly to accept his destiny.

So again, Nightwalker was bored. The Dark Forest camp was usually quiet, as most who lived there were either brooding or off actually doing things. Nightwalker hadn’t worked up the power to infect the living world yet, but once he did, he wouldn’t be chomping at the bit to get out of camp.

Then Bogtumble came along. Or more accurately: he left. Nightwalker had grown accustomed to watching his hell-mates, memorizing their patterns and fitting them into the massive jigsaw in his head that once completed would reveal his plans coming to fruition. Needless to say, Nightwalker was curious. The surly tom stalked after the other warrior, not bothering to be sneaky as he approached on the side. He didn’t say anything as they walked, more interested in where they were going.

The suffocating forest of darkness didn’t change gradually into the bright starlit forest. The border was extremely stark. Nightwalker hummed in interest as Bogtumble trotted over the border without so much as a sneeze. It looked like the veil was thin. Nightwalker smirked, following.

StarClan camp was easy to find, and even easier to enter in. Nightwalker strode in confidently alongside Bogtumble, following him to a quiet corner of camp and settling down with his torn up tail over his wicked paws.

It didn’t take long for someone to see them. “Ah, Blazingstar.” Nightwalker purred, deep voice like distant thunder. He had served under Blazingstar as a warrior. A loyal warrior. Some might call him an extremist, but only those who lacked vision. If only the golden furred leader had had more vision. A shame, really. They could have done great things together.

Blazingstar’s snarled words received a snort from the dark tabby. “Ah, how I’ve missed your voice.” He deadpanned, staring unflinchingly at his former leader. Not.

It was peaceful for about two minutes before his rest was interrupted. Not by whoever the heck was following him, but by some rude old leader who apparently thought he still had any claim on Bogtumble. The audacity, really! Apparently having served as a warrior during the leader's reign wasn't enough to cut him some slack.

With an exaggerated sigh, Bogtumble rolled over onto his side, let his long ears flop sideways, and looked up at Blazingstar with a disgruntled expression. "Oh, wouldja let a guy SLEEP for two seconds," he moaned. "'My side of the border,' as you've put it so lovingly, is absolutely AWFUL for my beauty rest. Won't you let it slide just once for a former Clanmate, Blaze-y? I didn't even do much to end up on the other side, honest."
