Whatever was happening, Mudslide didn't like it very much. Her paws felt like they might fall off, an odd feeling, an itchy and irritating feeling. She thought about chewing through her own fur and reaching the source with pure dedication and wit, but Mudslide knew that would be impossible (and painful), so she just sat there, as far away from the sun as was manageable when in camp borders. When did Shadowclan become Sunclan? They certainly needed some more shade, it would spare her the snappier attitude.
Rain or shine, Mudslide always had something to complain about, anycat did, it's just what she said about it was what mattered. Which, surprise, wasn't much. Mudslide knew that complaining was useless and that pain was unavoidable. But, that didn't mean she was just about to go down easy, might as well make some mistakes, a few select few good friends, and then she'd die happy and go... Wherever. It didn't really matter to her.
Then she felt... Something. Something other than the dull stinging in her bi colored paws. No. She felt eyes. Not unusual. Cats would glance or even stare at her every once in awhile, it made her curse her mother for not giving her a jet black pelt like farther. How come she had to be the white sheep covered in mud? If she were any different, nocat would even look at her. Exactly what she wanted.
Still, the tall she-cat turned her head, long ears twitched as she strained for any sudden noises (just incase some idiot was trying to pounce on her), and located the large eyes staring back at her. Tickpaw...

@Fritter // Tickpaw (took me an eon, but I'm here lol)
TickPaw’s gaze was fixed on a prey-cat who’d seated themself somehwere amongst the camp and looked particularly irritated, he’d been watching for about a good chunk of time now- more out of morbid curiosity toward the irritated expression and an extreme lack of anything to do. Usually TickPaw lingered inside the spprentice den or trailed beside mother on whatever she was doing next but today his schedule was open so he’d use cat-watching as a passtime. Tail swaying from side to side TickPaw had completely concealed himself in a corner in order to achieve being able to observe the authentic actions of another cat when they dont necessarily know they are being watched. TickPaw could already recall being scolded for this or more could hear how it would play out with mother. He’d get verbally body slammed by his mother’s sharp tongue and intimidating- everything. TickPaw’s relaxed form tensed and twisted as he was noticed- locking eyes with the victim of his staring. He must have slid out of cover at somepoint to get noticed, nonetheless he figured that he’d get called on into some sort of angry conversation or other at sometime today. Stepping completely out of his hiding spot he seated himself and blinked a few times gaze now stuck to his paws instead or anywhere but the prey-cats eyes.
Mudslide. That was the name he was looking for, the shecat before him he’d only heard as a pass-by name alongside other warriors and ranks around him. Prey-cat pass by with no real significance in TickPaw’s eyes at the moment. TickPaw wasn’t sure if he was supposed to speak or apologise even if he hadn’t really done anything than stare for a few seconds or minutes or more or so. From what he’d gathered they seemed to be fixiated on acting irritated previously. Had this cat heard his voice before? If he spoke using another one he’d surely come off as more apologetic. TickPaw felt his paws shuffle over one another- an annoying habit he’d developed that kept pestering him. “My apologies for staring.” the words came out slow and steady although lacked a genuine aspect that an apology required. He didn’t apologise very often to others, although mother had given him many chances to practise. TickPaw couldn’t recall anything about mudslide apart from their rank and name- TickPaw wasn’t normal enough to be engaged in clan gossip apparently.

Mudslide
She, Her\Warrior\15 moons\Shadowclan
"I miss the yellow. I miss the yellin' and the shake downs."
Mudslide watched as the apprentice tensed under her gaze as though he got caught stealing prey from the pile. Even if the staring was creepy, Mudslide fully expected him to just keep staring, but to her slight surprise he slipped from darkness, revealing his pelt along with his paws as they padded onto the ground towards her.
Wait... Towards her? No. No. No. Oh great, then he started talking. Mudslide had already begun to gather harmless dirt in her paws to fling at the apprentice before they could get a word out, but the apprentice beat her to it. Also, they wouldn't look at her in the eye anymore. Not like that was required when speaking to her, it's just, with all that staring from before, Mudslide assumed they'd have some backbone. But no, his eyes fell to his paws.
It also seemed that they placed their own paws on top of the other, kind of like how Mudslide often curled her tail around herself, just to feel some sense of comfort when Roachflare wasn't nearby. Then the apprentice apologized. (Mind Reader) Mudslide chewed on his tone of voice and deciphered that he wasn't being genuine. It just lacked the fullness of an apology. Though, it was nice to get one, even if it rang hollow. Cats rarely apologized to her and the majority have done worse things than stare at her for too long (though she did hate that to).
"Why stare?" Mudslide managed, her voice low like a whisper. Yup, that was it. Not that she had other thoughts on this, thoughts that were fit to express aloud. Nope, she was done. That was it.

Hemlockleaf stepped out of the warrior's den and let his gaze drift across the clearing as he sat down, licking his paw before using it to clean his face. He flicked and turned his good ear to listen to the goings-on around the camp clearing. It seemed like another typical day - mischievous young cats and idle gossip. He noticed that Dawnstar and Mistlewhisker were by the freshkill pile, and Dawnstar's expression was less than please.
He rose to his paws and padded over, dipping his head in respect as he approached. "Anything I can help with?"

"sit this one out? no, no, we simply can't have that!" cranekit tsked, shaking her head as she bounced towards surgekit. she reached out a paw to tap spark on the nose as she spoke. "you'd lose out on all this fun? on stones?" she didn't know what stones was, but that didn't matter, so long as there was a way to win, she would win. heck yeah, no contest. or wait, it was always better with a contest. "i'll make you a bet, huh? if you play and you win, then i'll owe you a favor. and if you lose, then at least you played. how about that, huh?"

TickPaw could basically feel the silence of the whole thing, it was bad enough he had been caught staring. Usually he was significantly more careful about these things but never really trailed after who he was staring at- which was probably why he’d gotten caught. TickPaw felt his mind buzzing- mostly and mainly with worry and concern over the consequences, he supposed he was going to get scolded or snapped at. It was hard to keep a straight face during these things. He usually sobbed his eyes out at confrontation but thankfully his tears were less frequently falling. Mother would have bitten his head off by now and spat him out like rotten prey- he knew this because that had happened before, but mental fear over mother would develop into showing actual fear out of nowhere. Attention- he was trying to avoid attention and he wished he could slip back into the shadows and catch himself just before he stepped out of cover so he could slip away. TickPaw felt like he was bracing himself for something, although he wasn’t the best at picking up on what.
Then the question ‘why stare?’. Why stare? As in why was he staring or why did he stare? Wait- were those the same questions- TickPaw’s gaze perked up in almost a mild wave of surprise and resettled itself on MudSlide’s eyes. He shuffled his paws in a pitter-patter motion on the dirt and considered the question itself. There were many reasons he stared, Mother said it was because he wanted to observe lesser cats and draw in information on them. But he must admit that thought seemed a bit far-fetched. Staring simply felt natural to TickPaw. It was something he did to take in the features and actions of those around them. TickPaw was ever fascinated in mimicry and copying others especially when he was supposed to be deemed a predator in a flock of prey, mimicking prey and looking the most like it. Although he didn’t solely do it for that reason, staring was just.. right to him. It felt correct to observe and take in someone else, he assumed it could have been viewed as even a lengthy taste of acknowledgement. But from the reactions from Mother on the whole thing and reactions in general he assumed that wasn’t necessarily correct. TickPaw blinked slowly, trying to break his empty stare before re-fixing his gaze to his paws and readying his answer. ‘I stare because...’ he couldn’t pry any answers that sounded right in his mind, it frustrated him. Lacking an answer or correctness. ‘It’s interesting just to watch, I suppose.’ TickPaw paired it with a shrug and tried to project confidence in that answer, surely he could cast a veil over the bland tone of voice and obvious concern that he was answering wrong. All wrong. What was he meant to say? Was there a correct answer even?
TickPaw flicked his gaze back up and felt evermore tense than before, answering had done nothing to easing his nerves or his mind. His whole thought process was fixated on the fact that Mother would scold him for this or that and he simply could not deny it. If mother was here, many many harsh words and blunt facts would be snipped into his ears before he could breathe the apology out. But this cat certainly was not Mother, the thought prompted a split-second smile on his face that died where it had began and left him feeling more compressed mentally than before. Were conversations supposed to feel like your slowly being buried alive?

Bright Amber eyes scorching the clearing, Wildkit took in a breath of warm air. Jeez, it sure was warm out... how bloody miserable. The little Molly adjusted her seating, and continued to stare into the dead clearing. Letting unimportant thoughts mingle for a second more before fanning elsewhere... and this time elsewhere was to her approaching litter mate. of course she looked dead on the inside. revealing a gaped tooth grin, the kit opened her mouth to speak. "Awww, is baby okay? " she crowed. "Why the long face? Are ya that bored?" Not waiting for an answer, she rambled on. "Well too bads you egg, come play stones with us... losers get their tail bit." turning her back towards Hollow, she scooped up a stone and prepared the game she literally just came up with. "Alright dorks, who wants to sit this one out?" Casting a harsh look towards the others, she silently dared them to chicken out on the game. If they did leave her, she'd gaslight them... after she beat them up of course.
The kit followed the other three cats in silence, Surge has never been one for talking to weirdos. Somehow static found itself with a group of them as friends. Watching as Wild took charge of the group this time spark had no idea what the game was going to be like. Oh lord, she found a rock. Everyone RUN! Grumbling and mumbling Surge raised its pawed.
”I’ll sit this one out, who knows what rules your gonna make up on the spot!” Surge wasn’t about to be tricked this time. Spark had lost last time due to the rules changing everytime Wild or Hollow started to lose. Static would rather die than go through that again.
"sit this one out? no, no, we simply can't have that!" cranekit tsked, shaking her head as she bounced towards surgekit. she reached out a paw to tap spark on the nose as she spoke. Ears perked as The Hunter's littermate spoke up towards them. In which a feeling of annoyance followed swiftly after her words. Hollowkit stared at her sibling for a short period of time, debating if the offer was worth taking. "Spark doesn't have a tail to bite....and you nor the teeth....explain this game, sister." Hollowkit mews, clearly showing that they were slightly amused. She yawns briefly before finding the source of the newest voice, Cranekit.
Ah yes, their ever so risk taking sibling was back at it once more. Hollowkit found her interesting but also a danger at times. Alas, black and white shekit remains silent on her thoughts for the time being. Tail curling around her paws neatly as she stepped closer and sat down. Blue and amber eyes focusing on a fly in the air as she awaited the game to be explained. Allowing carefully picked words to leave their maw, "Cranekit's deal is a fair one. I would take it or....are you too cowardly like a Riverclanner?" Hollowkit was hoping to cause a little excitement, that was all. Spark up something among the sibling group in competition.
