Illness Form
Name: Sunpaw
Gender & Pronouns: Male (he/him)
Rank: Apprentice (demoted from warrior until 19 August)
Illness Suffered: Vasovagal syncope (Wingnettle told me this is the most likely and best fitting cause of Sunpaw's faint spells)
Symptoms Present: A sudden drop in blood pressure causing him to faint, caused by the sight of blood
Live/Die/Desired Outcome: If it’s possible I would like him to know what’s causing him to faint and maybe a solution
Other: Wingnettle told me it would be a mental cause with somatic symptoms, if possible Lightningstorm might know it’s something related to blood pressure and give him exercises to do to raise his blood pressure, she also said maybe if Sunpaw could find a way to overcome his 'fear' of blood (not sure what exactly to call it) then that could help stop his faint spells? Although if it’s unrealistic for Lightningstorm to work that out it’s fine!

Name: Whistlekit, Sedgekit

Gender & Pronouns: Whistlekit is cis female, Sedgekit is cis male

Rank: Both are kits

Illness Suffered: Whistlekit and Sedgekit played around with a mouse that had gone bad with Cottonkit. Now they have food poisoning.

Symptoms Present: Whistlekit has a stomachache and a very high fever. She's also vomiting. Sedgekit has a slight fever, otherwise he's ok.

Live/Die/Desired Outcome: Both live, but Whistlekit has to stay in the medicine den for a while, and she's a little weak afterwards.

Other: Hawkfur is the one who found them and brought them and Cottonkit into the medicine den.

Illness Suffered: Cottonkit played around with a mouse that had gone bad, Cottonkit feels mostly fine but a little sick.

Symptoms Present: Nausea

Live/Die/Desired Outcome: Live, Cottonkit gets over his nausea!

Other: Hawkfur is the one who found them and brought the kits to the den.

Alright... So, as the form stands right now, I may have to decline, because I just don't think realistically Lightningstorm can give you the instant result you want with this. For his heart skipping beats, it is a little bit more complicated. She relies solely on her ears, no tools at her disposal. If she is meant to hear the heart beats skipping, this might be... somewhat plausible, but she would probably keep monitoring it for a few days of rest before giving a verdict. If he is feeling actual complications in his chest due to his heart beat being that is of course different, but I would need a form that would specify this as the symptom present before I could accept, as this would be a much more specific, more dire scenario!

Now, concerning his weakened bones, I have a similar problem. His bones being weakened alone is not something she would be able to tell just from a checkup. She lacks machinery to see his bones, and realistically touching with a paw wouldn't really let her feel the bone? Unless it is so fragile that a gentle touch would break it, in which case he would probably be fracturing his limbs just from trying to walk and would definitely be unable to climb or jump ledges, which I think might be a little more severe than you are hoping for!

I can give you options for longer term plots if you want this to end in Watertail becoming an elder, but if you are choosing this path with him being this severe right off the bat with no previous medical history that hinted at this having been roleplayed prior to the RiverClan raid, Lightningstorm will probably be suggesting for the clan to find him a home as a kittypet. The clans are aware of medicine twolegs having superior medicine to that available in the clans, and if it comes between the health and well being of a patient or simple pride she will choose their health without a second thought.

So, for a shorter response, if your goal is for him to become an elder, this particular form is currently rejected as I am afraid it will not lead to that outcome, but I am open to a long term plot in which I will gladly help figure something out, but it will take a few months probably while his condition starts to actually show. If you are okay with him becoming a kittypet as the end goal, then feel free to post a starter in the medicine cat's den.

Alright, so trying to think how to apply this to battle cat medicinal knowledge. I am not entirely certain if she would comprehend the concept of blood pressure to such a degree? A part of me wants her to, but realistically she wouldn't have the tools to gauge this accurately I do not think. That said, I do believe I can see her understanding what is going on in a maybe not long term but mid term plot? Not fully, but to some degree?

If he always faints at the sight of blood, then it might have to do with perhaps giving him strengthening herbs and slowly removing the fear? It doesn't need to be instant - nor would she expect it to be - but some sort of improvement - either by herbs or just being more exposed to blood in regular clan activities, like hunting, friendly sparring, eating, etc - would need to happen. A cat that cannot tolerate the sight of blood would be incapable of living in the clan, even as an elder. Blood is everywhere, even in the prey they eat. Which means that she will be under the idea that he can at least tolerate it to some extent, meaning there would be something to work with. That said, if it is too bad, she will definitely suggest life outside the clan, as she would fear him fainting mid battle, mid hunt, or just... casually fainting in an extremely dangerous situation not just to him, but to his clanmates, period.

I will be accepting this healing form as it is. Feel free to post a starter and I will get to it as soon as I can! For how it plays out it will depend on how much Sunpaw knows and how much investigating and testing Lightningstorm will have to do, but I am more than willing to roleplay this out if you are.
