He had searched the group of cats for one that he has found in his company more than one would expect. Springlight... but she wasn't here yet, wow! Maybe she'll be the one who is late this time. Orangeblossom hasn't had much luck being on time to meetings and one time he does, Springlight is the one running late hehe. He wouldn't tease her for it though, as a medicine cat, especially one running solo now, he expected her to be busier than ever which is saying something because it wasn't Springlight to take a break. The warrior gave a sad little sigh and made his way- oh wowzers! That was Bumblestare with blood over her... how delightful. Perhaps she found that rogue that killed Mushroompaw, he sure hoped so.
For now, the warrior settled underneath the meeting spot, ready to hear from his leader. He could only hope that it would be good news, he couldn't really handle any bad news right now. He's hardly even had any time to properly grieve his siblings... or no, it wasn't grieving, they aren't dead... just lots, they'll return. They are strong! They'll return. Orangeblossom took in a deep breath through his mouth and held it in his chest long enough to start to burn before releasing it through his nose. Everything is fine, everything is fine. No reason to be upset. The blood on Bumblestar was likely just from that rogue finally being found. That's all.

with the sudden and surprising need for company, (no actually it wasnt all that surprising who was he kidding?) horsetrot shifted in his seat, two coloured eyes shifting from bumblestar on the stormcrest and down to the cats in front, behind and around him before they landed on the orange tom he had now selected as his newest victim. nimble white paws (although some would disagree, he wasnt really known for being quiet) carried the tom towards orangeblossom, feathery tail twitching in a friendly manner. "g'mornin' orangeblossom" he mewed, voice rough and laced with curiosity, the white feline had picked up the other toms close relations to springblossom over time and now that their medicine cat specifically wasnt at this meeting, he might as well sit with her little boyfriend or whatever orangeblossom was to her. "sounds rather serious dont ya think?" he cocked his head, taking note of orangeblossoms off behaviour, sadness perhaps? and filed it for later. the mental collection of orangeblossom emotions was small and dusty, he didnt really care much, but now that he would be spending at least 15 minutes next to the other...he might as well dust a bit. "ya look a bit under th' weather, ya okay?" horsetrot enquired, pale eyes softening as he glanced up at the ginger tom through his lashes and gently knocked their shoulders together.

Snakepelt padded over to the Stormcrest and sat down, curling their tail around their paws. They made a note of the rather tense atmosphere. Tense in terms of they didn't know why Bumblestar's fur was on end. Though, in all modesty, it wasn't their business. At least, not until the news was announced.

Oookkkaaayyy, something was weird about this meeting. Wolfpaw lifted his head as he watched Bumblestar burst into camp and leaped on the stormcrest. His green eyes widened at the harshness of the leader's voice. Okay, something was definitely wrong. The tripod lifted himself up from his place outside the apprentice den and hobbled over to the stormcrest, gaze in search of one cat. Once he spotted them, Wolfpaw hobbled over and sat themselves down next to them. "What's wrong with Bumblestar? What do ya think happened?" he asked, scooting closer to Mudhound. After the ghost thing when exploring RiverClan, Wolfpaw knew his mentor would protect him. "I don't like this," the young tabby muttered, green gaze on his leader.

Drizzlecloud had been seated out in the clearing, enjoying the sun when Bumblestar and her patrol had arrived home. The scent of blood was what truly caught her attention, and her brows furrowed together in concern as she watched her leader make her way up to the stormcrest.
She looks angry. Green eyes wandered over to Spiderthroat, who looked equally as infuriated as Bumblestar did. Carrying herself closer to the space beneath Thunderclan's usual meeting point, she resisted the urge to approach Spiderthroat to ask what had happened. Surely, the news would be delivered to the clan shortly.
A certain feeling of uncertainty became apparent in her gut, a heavy yet somehow hollow feeling that made her feel uneasy. The voices had gone uncharacteristically quiet, even that of the soft, helpful one that she had grown used to. The star on her shoulder had gone quiet along with the shadows that loomed over her back. What was the meaning of all of this?

Bumbestar's claws gripped the stone as she watched her Clan group up beneath her. Expressions ranged anywhere from confused to concerned to anxious. How was she meant to tell them this? This was different than Foxstep's screw-up, or Drizzlecloud's choice to step down, or, hell, even Cinderpaw's demotion from seasons back. Neither of those cats had died, and Springlight had been incredibly close with several of her Clanmates.
"Reassignments first." Get the boring stuff out of the way. As far as she could tell, there were no ceremonies to be done, just this. Which would hopefully make the transition to the news much easier.
"Morningpaw, you're with Risingstorm. Fireflypaw, with Sproutfleck. Wolfhive, take Whitepaw 'n Alpinepaw. Sunpaw, with Sprucejumper. Lotuspaw, Mountaintalon. Pinepaw, Darkclaw. Goldenpaw, Snakefang."
A pause, to let it sink in. Bumblestar sucked in a deep breath, wrapped her tail around her paws, and moved on.
"Springlight is dead." Maybe that was a rough note to start off on, but she had no idea how to even launch into this. "I'd noticed she'd been absent from camp for longer than she should've been, so I took a patrol out to look. The scent trail we followed led to Firefly Cove. We didn't find her, 'n we didn't find a body, but there was enough blood in that clearing to paint a pretty clear picture of what happened. She seems to have been attacked and carried off by an owl while on a solo outing; we found destroyed herbs and owl feathers."
She had to pause to clear her throat before she carried on. "This leaves us without a medicine cat for the time being. I'll be looking into finding replacements as soon as possible so we aren't caught off-guard by anything, but until I can do that, myself, Spiderthroat, 'n the Hornets'll have a hand in healing. We'll work on getting the herb stores stocked so we aren't short of anything. If you have any questions, now's the time to ask."

Despite having been on the patrol that had made said discoveries, hearing Bumblestar announce it from the Stormcrest brought a degree of finality to the issue. Springlight was dead. Skylark had never been particularly close to the medicine cat save for the occasional visit for illnesses or injuries, but a member of her Clan was still dead. And to have lost her life in such a brutal way... Skylark didn't consider herself to be a compassionate cat and certainly not a forgiving one, but she wouldn't wish a death like that on anyone. Well anyone that she knew, that was always subject to change with every new cat she met. Sighing and dipping her head out of respect, she quietly braced herself for the onslaught of shocked whispers that were inevitable from her Clanmates.

Ravenpaw listened to the reassignments.
Though she only grew more curious to what was going on.
And then the news came.
Springlight is dead.
Now, Ravenpaw did not know this cat personally, not at all.
But, ThunderClan was without a medicine cat, and that wasn’t good.
Not at all.
She hoped that Bumblestar would find a new one soon, or else any cats injured may have more trouble than usual, even with higher ups helping with healing.
She stayed quiet for a moment of silence, dipping her head out of respect.

Goldenpaw rocks up late, bleary-eyed, coat mussed; three guesses as to what she'd been made late for. She finds a spot to squeeze in, so woozy from that nap that the tension of the meeting flies over her ginger-and-white ears. The room is not getting read. Not until Bumblestar commences with the meeting, anyway.
The apprentice has their head drooping and eyelids sagging by the time their name is called, and..huh. Snakefang. What...oh. Oh. A reassignment? She tries to find it in her to feel same kind of way about this, any kind of way, but it's just not coming. She hadn't really had any time to bond with her initial mentor. The most Goldenpaw can muster right now is a bad feeling about not feeling worse, and then a puff of cheery resignation. Oh, well! Snakefang...stars, she's got such a cool name. Goldenpaw can't wait.
While it takes a hot minute for Goldenpaw to wake the heck up and realize that something's amiss, he does eventually. It's right as Bumblestar's breaking the horrific news, though, so that hardly counts. His head rears back, vibrant eyes blown comically wide. For real? Eyes trained upward, now, the gore on Bumblestar's paws is plain to see. Oh wow. For real real.
"....this suuuuuuucks........." Goldenpaw whispers. Like, yeah, for sure poor Springlight—but what're they gonna do without a medicine cat? He knows some warriors are pretty handy with some herbs 'n stuff but nothing beats having a cat whose whole job is herbs. And now they don't have that cat whose job that is. And that...well, that sucks.
Goldenpaw makes a note to himself to try and be crazy super careful until that all gets sorted out. Hey skin, hey bones, no breaking! It's not that he doubts Bumblestar, Spiderthroat, and the clan's Hornets or anything, just that he'd rather not make a bad situation any worse. Then, having the good sense to go hot in the face at the fact that his first reaction was to complain aloud, he snaps his mouth shut tight and turns his head back down; some due respect for the fallen.
Risingstorm smiled he was getting his first apprentice the tabby and white tom looked around the crowd for the apprentice but he snapped his head back to stormcreast “Springlight is dead” the tom gasped the last medicine the clan had was gone he didnt know how to feel but he was sad and dipped his head in respect for his fallen clan mate
