Yeah, Wolfhive wasn't quite sure what Kestrelpaw was thinking.. actually, he was pretty sure he knew exactly what she was thinking. He twitched his whiskers, stepping out of the den to get a closer look at the noisy apprentice. He was.. worn out, exhausted. Almost two moons of being sick would do that, and he was glad he was getting better.. didn't really want to spread anything. "I don't think anyone wants to pretend to be that crabapple, Kestrelpaw." Mountaintalon.. dude looked like he had some stick wedged up his ass with how sour he always looked.
"Been sick." Quiet, factual. Wolfhive sighed as he settled down outside the den, resting his head on his paws as he watched her. "Happens sometimes, since I was around your age." That was around the time the poisoning started.. his stomach twisted at the memory. "I'm only a season-cycle or so older than you, y'know?"
“Good,” Larkswoop responded with a flick of an ear. “Although, I did have my worries about Dawnpaw..”
She tipped her head to the side, green gaze narrowing. “If I’m to be honest, I’m not sure if Hawkcatcher’s been taking her out. She seemed too…eager…to learn the battle move I taught her,” She explained, sitting back on her haunches, pelt rippling uneasily. “Morningpaw was just….well, rude, and I know I can’t change that, but Alpinepaw….I don’t think her mentor’s taking her out, either.”
Larkswoop’s whiskers twitched. “I haven’t seen much of Hollyheart ever since the hunting contest I’d come up with. I haven’t seen much of Hawkcatcher, either.” Her thoughts flicked back to Falconpaw and Ravenpaw, having caught them leaving camp on their own. Larkswoop - as their mentor - had gotten onto them for disappearing. The she-cat’s tail tip twitched. “All three interactions went well, however, besides my doubts. My doubts aren’t what you want to hear, anyway.”
She lowered her voice, the last bit of her words aimed towards herself. “I’m going to take Ravenpaw and Falconpaw to Willow’s Rise before any other landmark in the territory, just to give them an idea about why they should show more respect than they do.”
“Everything went well,” Larkswoop quickly reassured her leader.

Bumblestar raised both eyebrows in silent response. Most of this was entirely unrelated to what she was even asking about.
"Lucky for you, I'm not lookin' at your event or what you're doin' with other apprentices." She flipped her tail over her paws. Just 'good' was incredibly vague, and anything outside of the news about Alpinepaw's mentor (since from her perspective, Hawkcatcher was doing just fine) was almost entirely useless. "Why don't you hold off on that outing for a bit? I wanna talk to the ones you were with before I decide where I wanna go with you from here. You're dismissed."

The young apprentice hobbled his way into bumblestar's den, pausing for a moment to let his green gaze adjust to the lighting. "Bumblestar! Was wondering if you could teach me some fighting moves. Needa make sure I can protect stinkin Mornin'paw and the rest of the clan. Also because I... Don't know any yet. So, what do you say?" he said, a smile on his face.

Well, that kind of caught her off-guard. It wasn't often cats asked for a name change - usually she just did it without really asking and it worked regardless, like with Risingstorm. But he'd never said he hated his name.
Bumblestar twitched an ear at him. "Alright. Bit of an unusual request, but we'll see what we can do. You have any ideas of what you'd rather be called? Or you comin' up blank?"
Morningpaw hadn't really expected it to be that easy. Though its not like he knew the leader very well, and certainly not well enough to know how name switching works with her... or with any cat that is. He just expected it to be harder than 'I hate my name, lemme change it.' Though that's enough complaining, the next part was also something he didn't really think about even though it was very obvious and he should've... he just didn't. If not Morningpaw... than who was he? The apprentice blinked... and paused. He opened his mouth to speak a couple times but every time he just didn't know what he would even suggest. Man, wasn't this the leader's thing? Picking out names for her clan and stuff... It's like a warrior name kind of, just throw anything random at him and stuff.
The apprentice eventually slowly shook his head, "I didn't think that far ahead. I just want Morningpaw gone. Or anything that is similar to that is a no as well... like I don't know, Nightpaw or Dawnpaw... or something. I want something new... different." He looked away awkwardly not really feeling all too confident like he usually is. Or rather how he usually acts, he never really feels all too confident but that was pretty normal for apprentices, it basically came with the rank. Didn't make it any less annoying, especially when he showed his slight insecurity ( can you call it that? ) in front of the leader of his damn clan of all cats. "Just anything I guess."
Yayaayayyayayay! The apprentice came running from the apprentice den and towards the leader's one day, searching for answers that he was finally old enough to know about! Well kind of, more so, because he was an apprentice he wasn't so super scared about seeing Bumblestar. The leader kind of intimidated him when he was younger... and still kind of know, actually still probably the same amount now but also he was an apprentice so that meant it was his entire job to push through fear to be super brave and train to be an even braver warrior! So facing the leader was the first thing on his list of things to do while an apprentice! Yep, sure was. Even though mama said that he shouldn't bother Bumblestar with unimportant things, but this was so super important! He just couldn't understand how mama didn't understand it! It was crazy, really, and truthfully, and super super... uhhhh uhhh words- uhhh indubitably- hehe that was a word that he learned recently, very silly and very fun to say even in his head.
The apprentice, too lost in his daydream-y thoughts, tripped right over his own paws the moment he was crossing the threshold into the den and landing face first in front of the leader. At least he would be very remembered, nothing like meeting your leader for the first time by face planting- HAH First impression nailed it! Sure Applepaw would be known as the clumsy apprentice but that was still a name for himself! Better than being quiet and normal and no one knowing his name at all. The apprentice hopped up to his paws again and shook the dirt that he lifted up with him. "So sorry about that, Bumblestar! Got too excited, forgot to watch my paws! Anyways- I'm finally old enough to like face you, because you are kind of scary, and still are- I mean you're so cool and and like the leader and all, so being a-" He was rambling, the apprentice cut himself off with a wave of his paw at nothing in the air and a shake of his head.
"I want to ask you about the sink hole! My mom told be a bit about it when I was a kit- even though I was a kit like... a couple nights ago... and uhh- anyways- I've been thinking about it and awful lot because there's gotta be a reason why, right?" Applepaw spoke and finished with making direct eye contact with a slight, dramatic narrowing of his eyes as though in thought, before he quickly glanced away again and then began to pace the space of the den without even giving the leader any time to think or respond before continuing with his spill, becoming more passionate as he talked more about the thing that's been plaguing his thoughts since he was told about the sink hole. "Because something like that doesn't just happen right? I mean it was big enough to make us have to get a new camp right? So how did it happen? That's what I gotta figure out because it's been on my mind since mom told me about what it! And I figured that you would probably know all about it so uhhhhh tell me everything you know about the sink hole!" The apprentice sat back on his haunches as he finished his monologue.
