MOOSECRASH

Taking in his surroundings, the huge tomcat blinked a few times to clear his mind.
What happened? Where am I? I had gone on an herb patrol...
His hazel eyes scanned the undergrowth and trees. He hadn't been here just a moment before... He remembered telling Ivypaw to check under a the roots of the Weeping Willow for cobwebs while Fallowpaw and Sleethound gathered some plant nearby. Wherever he was now was definitely not near the willow tree.

Parting his jaws, the massive coon took in the scents around him. He didn't seem to be far from Thunderclan Territory, and this looks kind of like the outskirts...
I hope I haven't been gone long, Dawnstar will have my hide...
He broke into a trot and headed in the direction of the camp, long fur flowing in the gentle breeze.

Sometimes just casual hunting trips that werent patrol assigned were really nice~ Mudhound had been getting antsy in camp and so, deciding it would make a nice outing, had nabbed Snakefang for a simple calm trip and was now circulating right along the thunderclan border, fat pheasant in mouth.

That'd been a fun catch, the fact bird had startled itself out of a bush right at the passing cats and the fury had bit first and thought second, snagging it out of the air. Honestly they were kinda stunned and confused they even had a bird in their mouth for a bit after that, but now was trotting along pleased with themself.

The maine coon had recently been prattling along to Snakefang but was now silent, ears perked for maybe another pheasent to directly uber itself to the tripod hopefully. That was what alerted them to the sound of another cat heading possible towards the haggard ruins (if they had to guess) and not smelling of thunderclan.

Possible intruder!

Lifting a tail to alert Snakefang the tripod quickly shoved their catch under a bush with a whispered "Keep by me, they sound big." The fury quickly closed in on Moosecrash, noting that at least this stranger wasnt that much larger then them, and barked out a demand.

"Hey you! Stop right there, youre intruding on thunderclan territory! State your business, leave, or face the consequences!"

Snakefang had been pretty bored recently. Every day felt the same, and now it was starting to become a bit irritating. So when Mudhound invited her for a nice, calm hunting trip, she was more than happy to go. Mudhound was…clearly a much better hunter than Snakefang. She did attempt to catch a mouse, but that failed horribly when she mixed up hunting techniques and used the wrong one.

Then all of a sudden, Mudhound's tail suddenly went up and they quickly hid their prey. That’s when Snakefang heard the sound of footsteps and noticed a strange and unfamiliar smell. Definitely a cat, but not from any of the clans as far as she could tell. That’s when Mudhound instructed her to stay close to them, without saying anything, she approached this strange cat with the Fury. Narrowing her eyes at the intruder, she hissed at them "Well? Who are ye? What’re ye doin' here?"

MOOSECRASH

At the sound of a warrior yelling about an intruder, the huge tabby tom spun, tail puffed in alarm.
An intruder?! Where?!
His hazel eyes scanned the undergrowth quickly, but confusion washed over him as he didn't spot anyone else, just himself and two other Thunderclan warriors. He glanced over his shoulder.
"I must have missed their scent! Which way did they go? I'll chase them down while you two run to camp and get backup!" He called to the young cats behind him, parting his jaws to try and pick up the scent of the intruder. He shook his head in confusion again as the only scents that he could pick up were his own and those of other Thunderclan cats.
Oh, I get it, it's a prank!
Letting out a chuckle, he let his fur lay flat and turned back to the young warriors, giving a good natured smile.
"That's a very funny prank, you got me," Moosecrash said as he waved his tail in greeting. "You two are pretty young, huh? Still playing tricks on the senior warriors."

He looked over the pair of cats and realized that one looked fairly familiar. Taking a closer look at the tripod maine coon, he smiled.
"Say, you look a lot like Houndspirit! Are you two related?" He inquired in a warm, friendly tone.

Mudhounds face got only more baffled as this guy continued to talk, golden eyes turning to make contact with Snakefangs own to see if the other warrior was confused too. Which he probably was because who was this man and what was he talking about?! HOW DID HE KNOW MUDHOUND'S LONG DEAD MUM?!?

"Uh, Houndspirit was my Ma but she died as a kit-" Mudhound physically stopped and shook themself to get back on focus, fur puffing up again and glaring at this weirdo. "Hold on a second! I am NOT some young warrior, Im am one of thunderclans Hornets and under Bumblestars authority I demand you tell me who you are and why youre here!" It was hard being mean but this guy knew a lotta 'bout thunderclan and didnt smell like them or was anyone recognized and Mudhound had been here for over a year!

Actually that wasnt long come to think of it... Was Snakefang clan born? Mudhound was pretty sure he was, maybe he'd been here longer enough to recall this strange maine coon. Honestly it depended on Snakefangs memory, the tom was young but wouldve been a kitten around when Moosecrash was in the clan, not that the tripod knew that. Still, they made eye contact with their hunting partner again and cocked their head gesturing it towards the large tom in a sort of 'know him?' gesture.

Because otherwise Mudhound was stumped.

'Have I gone crazy or something?!' Snakefang thought to herself. She was not expecting Moosecrash to react like that. She looked over to Mudhound to see if the Hornet was as confused as she was. Yep, they definitely looked it. For a moment it seemed like Moosecrash was ranting about some strange cat he knew, but Snakefang was even more confused when Mudhound said that the cat Moosecrash was talking about was their long-dead mum. So this cat somehow knew ThunderClan cats from long ago?! That just made things stranger.

"Wha…? Who in StarClan's name are ye an' how'd ye know all this?!" She hissed at this strange cat. The weirdest part is that he actually seemed genuine? As if he was somehow an older warrior that no one knew about. But that still didn’t explain the fact he didn’t have ThunderClan scent. No, he definitely wasn't a ThunderClan cat, if he was, at the very least he’d smell like one and either Snakefang or Mudhound would’ve seen him before. This really made no sense at all.

Then she noticed Mudhound looking at her, gesturing to this strange tom as if to ask if she had any idea who this was. Snakefang looked back with confused eyes and shook her head from side to side as if to say 'no idea'. Then she looked back at Moosecrash, not wanting to take her eyes off the giant tom in case this was somehow a trick. Although now confusion was prominent in her eyes and not anger like she would usually have towards an intruder.

The tom shook his striped head in confusion.
Houndspirit? Dead? But I just saw her the other day...
Sadness filled his hazel gaze as he looked at the tripod warrior.

"Oh young one, I'm sorry to hear about Houndspirit. She was a good warrior," he said before tilting his head in confusion again.
"Bumblestar? Hornet? You sure are taking this prank far, but I'll play along," he replied with a good natured smile. "I am Moosecrash, and I am a warrior of Thunderclan. I was on an herb patrol, but my patrol seems to have wandered off and left me behind," he stated as he looked back and forth between the pair.

Suddenly he remembered why he had been trying to get back to camp quickly.
"Oh stars, we need to get going! I'm already late reporting, Dawnstar will have my hide! We need to head to camp, I'm sure Buckbranch or Sleethound can explain to you two the mistake," Moosecrash said before turning in the direction of where he thought camp was and starting to pad away. He swished his tail as he pondered the confusion of the pair of warriors.
They don't seem to know who I am... Has something happened? Was I gone longer than I though? That would explain why I'm not at the Weeping Willow...

NOTHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION WAS GETTING ANY LESS CONFUSING!!!

The tripod was just reeling at this other large cat, he obviously wasnt a threat and sounded like a clanmate if a confusing and confused one, so the ever friendly and squishy hornet really didnt wanna attack him- Wait...... wait wait wait......

Dawnstar? Buckbranch? Hmmmmmm......... Yes yes Mudhound was doing some maths! 2 + 2, easy calculations...... Except Mudhound came up with 7.

"Wait hold on mister.... I dunno your name actually. You should probably stop, camps not that way, at least its not anymore. I think you got some bad info because this isnt a prank."
If he refused to listen and didnt stop this might turn into a fight but hopefully he would and this could be dealt with safely.

"Its not a nice question buuuuuut do you remember dying or something dude? You said you were just with your herb patrol and needed to get back to Dawnstar but her occupation ended over two years ago and Buckbranch.... Well Im sorry no ones seen him in about the same timeframe.

I think you mightve died during Dawnstars occupation and starclans brought you back!"
2+2=7 PEOPLE MUDHOUND IS TOTALLY A GENIUS!!!

This was in fact totally incorrect and in fact Moosecrash had gone missing only just before Mudhound had joined and had no died and was just an amnesiac but in their defense how was the tripod to know? This made total sense, yep.

"Im not pranking but a lot of time has passed and a lot has changed. Bumblestar- uh Bumblebreak might be the name you remember, my sister is leader now" Mudhound would not be accepting any misgendering just because Moosecrash remembered a time when she was a brother. "Shadowclan is gone and our camp is moved. Uuuuuh a lot more has happened and you'll need to talk to Bumblestar before rejoining but if you wanna we can take you to her?"

Honestly the hornet was skipping over a lot and kinda looked to Snakefang to see if he wanted to tack on more info like how the riverclan war ended, they went through Cinder-Sparrow-Thrushstar, the riverclan war started again and swiftly ended by a three clan beat down, or any of the minuta of other stuff Moosecrash had missed. It was a lot of stuff really when they were still caught on the 'this guy totally came back from the dead and thats why he cant remember stuff' aspect, so the help would be appreciated.

Somehow this was making even less sense now. Snakefang didn’t even know what to say at this point. At first she thought this cat was talking about Dawnstar of ShadowClan, she didn’t remember a time when ThunderClan's leader was called Dawnstar. Thankfully Mudhound spoke because Snakefang had no idea how to respond. Mudhound's theory though…that didn’t make much sense either, they said something about StarClan bringing back a dead cat?

"Wait…that’s possible?!" She said, completely baffled. "I know they can heal leaders from death wounds but they can revive any cat they want?!" Even if StarClan could bring a dead cat back, what took them so long? "Wait, I don't even remember Dawnstar, must’ve been when I was a kit, but if StarClan did somehow bring you back, I can’t understand why they’d wait for such a long time first…" But then again, Snakefang wasn’t aware StarClan could do that until now, so maybe this was normal for bringing back dead cats? None of it made any sense at all.

As Mudhound explained that Bumblestar was the leader now, Snakefang sat there, deep in thought, trying to work out how to make sense of any of it. It took her a while to notice Mudhound glancing over at her as if they wanted her to say something. But Snakefang just looked back at them with confusion, not knowing what exactly to say.

"Yeah quite a lot's happened since…well I’ve no idea how long you've been…" She couldn’t think how to finish that. Dead wouldn’t be the right word, would it? "I mean since your last memory…I think."

@Rizo @Rani (Sorry this took so long! Also I would’ve had Snakefang help with explaining but I don't really know about that stuff myself!)

The massive coon tom couldn't help but shake his head. None of this was making any sense. He couldn't have died, surely his last memory would be that of his death?
"I certainly don't remember dying or anything that could have lead to my death... And I unfortunately don't remember the name Bumblebreak either..." he trailed off before letting out a sigh. Something very strange was happening, that was for sure. Hopefully someone in camp would have a better idea of what was going on. Perhaps a medicine cat?

Rosepaw! Of course! She'll know what's going on.

He was about to suggest such when a sudden wave of vertigo overcame him and he caught one front paw behind the other. Before he could stop himself, Moosecrash was facedown in the dirt, tail still waving in the air.
"Ow..."
From this position his most recent scar was blatantly visible to observers, a star shaped bash mark on the back of his skull. Taking a moment to steady himself, Moosecrash lifted his face out of the dirt and gently shook off the dust. He felt a twinge of pain in his shoulders and quickly licked away the muck covering his tabby pelt to reveal a scarred over set of clawmarks on each shoulder. Perplexed, Moosecrash sniffed at them.

"I don't remember how I got these either... It must have happened after the herb patrol? I think?" he speculated before letting out another sigh.
This was all a lot to take in, and he had more questions than answers now.
"Right, I think meeting with this Bumblestar is probably the best idea. Lead on, if you please?" He requested to the pair of warriors that had found him. His hazel eyes took in his surroundings once more before padding closer to the pair.

"I don't believe I got either of your names, but in case I forgot to give you mine, I am Moosecrash. Hopefully when we get to camp someone will recognize me. Maybe Cindersky, Nectarflame, or Rosepaw..." he trailed off again.
Surely someone I know is still around?
