Bearsnout was minding his own business through the meeting. He was still feeling quite homesick in the mountains, yet the Lionheart remained optimistic none the less. He normally would try to go hunt down his sister or someone else that he knew to chat during Clan meetings, but right now, he was enjoying the peace that came with just sitting alone as he listened to what Fadingstar had to say.

They’d have many new warriors it seemed! Cobwebpaw and Adderpaw he was particularly excited for, Sunsetpaw too. He recalled her during the burial, she seemed mature and quite ready for the title of warrior. Overall, almost all of the RiverClan apprentices had been working their butts off. They deserved this more than anything. It left a pang in his heart as he thought about those who were lost in the recent raid that had driven them out of their home, but it was best not to dwell on that now. The best they could do was move forward into the future, and these new warriors would be the ones to bring the future of RiverClan.

It wasn’t any of his business. He knew that when he spotted the gray warrior in front of him. She seemed anxious, which was fair considering the circumstances of RiverClan at the moment. She also seemed lonely, and being the friendly tom that he was, Bearsnout approached her with a smile. “Hello. You okay?” He greeted

Lilyglide had not been paying attention to the cats around her. Her light grey paws dug into the ground she was stressing herself out, brain spiraling. Then she tensed up, had she not been seated she may have jumped, That would have been embarrassing, she needed to get it together. Her light yellow eyes look over at Bearsnout, and her ears perk up before she calms down "I'm alright, just worried, We are so far from home, I suppose I wish we weren't exiled from the clans, will we ever make it back?" she mews out her ears lower as her expression saddened. She can't help but miss home. She sighed, knowing she was usually much calmer than this.

"I don't even remember what this meeting was about." She sighed, an expression of how much she was worried for the clan, what if they never make it back? so much could happen where they don't. Worrying a lot she knows, But everything happened so fast it's hard for the she to process it. She looked over at him "Kind of silly, I know. I'm worrying about this like a small kit." She chuckled. She does believe she overreacting a tad, she is sure she is but since the tom came over to chat she miswell talk to him. "Im happy for the new warriors, Don't you think they are going to do great?" she mews.

Irisfrost

Irisfrost arrived just as Goldfish caught a mouse. Her eyes flickered towards Emberfang to find he had also caught a mouse. Between that and the hares, it was a notably successful hunting patrol; StarClan must have blessed them. It was a little thing, but it was something, a small sign to tell them that their ancestors hadn't abandoned them.

Goldfish retrieved the hares, and then suggested going back to camp. Irisfrost nodded, readjusting her grip on the shrew, and followed.

@Blazimations @Minkuu (short post but I wanted to get this out, also I had permission from Minkuu to skip over them)

Goldfish softly patted Shellkit on the head S he cuddled against her leg. "Run along, baby." She said softly. "I've got to go... to... to... go..." The Ace of Spades' voice faltered as a voice so familiar rang around the clearing. A voice she'd tried so damn hard to convince herself was gone forever. So she could be happy. The tortoiseshell didn't turn around for a moment. She didn't breathe. She was tense and frozen. This was impossible. But it was happening this very moment. She whipped around, eyes emotionless and face blank, as though she hardly recognized her own sister. But she did. And as Spottedstream huddled toward her Goldfish practically fell over herself huddling to meet her. As the two met, Goldfish could barely hold back tears of her own. The need to suppress emotion was more evident than the need to show it. But she couldn't suppress the shock and smile that melted onto her face as she attempted to wrap her forepaws around Spotty's neck and tug her to the ground beside her.

"Where the hell have you been?" She said, muzzle burying her muzzle in her sister's neck fur. "The... the battle, and...? What the crap happened?" She pulled her muzzle from Spottedstream's pelt and jerked her head at Shellkit. "Hes... He's all we've got. Jayfrost's been helping a lot. With the nursery part of it all. Stars know what id do without him." She said softly. Then flicked her tail for Shellbaby to come on over and see Spottedstream. "This is Aunt Spotty, Shellbaby. Come say hello." And Starclan knows that she hopedher voice had been muffled enough that Shellkit hadn't heard hell or crap come from her mouth. If he said that before he was an apprentice she'd cuff him around the ears.

Default Re: Atari Territory

@Minkuu
Poor, poor Anima. He thought that acting like a grumpy badgerface would get Potato to leave him alone and shut up? Absolutely not! In fact, the agreement, however grudging, had the initiate bouncing on his toes, prancing into the Atari's territory with great verve. Yes! Training! He would have to ask a claw next time, Anima would certainly know better than him who ought to be training him and he probably should have thought of that to begin with. After all, he was supposed to become a claw. That was the thing he was meant to be doing. So it would have made sense to ask one of them. But he had seen Anima, and gotten excited. And he could make the best of this for sure!

Pausing once he had reached a reasonably flat, pointy-rock-free location, Potato spun to smile in what he hoped was a charming manner at Anima. What do you wanna teach me first? Can you teach me how to, like, destroy cats? Because I'm not that big hopefully he'd grow but he didn't want to risk not growing and being useless but I want to beat up anybody! And not get squished in the process preferably! Not perishing himself would certainly be ideal. Now he just had to hope Anima could impart some knowledge (probably a bit more basic than he was hoping for, but it would be a start at least) and he could go bug a Claw then!

Beefed Up T1
[a burly ragdoll she-cat, with polished blue eyes, long, lustrous fur; scars running along her face]

[tw: mentions of dismembering and impaling (in thought)]

Tongue click. Hello new place, group, thingamajig.

Hoshi sniffed around basically everywhere. Whats this? Whats that? She wasn't goofing around like some idiot would, she was searching the camp for threats. So far so good. Nobody jumping out at you: check. Nobody being an insano because insane cats are mostly dangerous cats: check. No-one getting on your nerves: check. She hoped the last one would be obeyed at approximately all costs, because she did not need any strangers being all OO AA and OO AAAA A A up in her face. From her experience, most strangers were either the biggest creeps known to cat kind, or trying to hurt you. Now, none of those were probably not exactly what you want to meet anyday, but the heckin universe seemed to have very different plans. "Oh no what shall i ever do? It seems as if I'm dropping this PERFECTLY HAPPY cat into A TOTALLY NEW PLACE full of STRANGERS and WEIRDOS and GENERALLY DUMB CATS!!1" Universe said, calculating the exact amount of planck length and zeptoseconds it'll take for this cat to land at precisely 45.2538° N, 69.4455° W. So, apparently: the Universe did not like her.

You know what?
Heck you too, universe.

*unsteaks your cooked*

Hoshi paused by the Initiates Den. She'd been snoozing there every night for the past 4 days, though she didn't normally get that much sleep; and she was always weirdly disappointed in the morning. She shrugged her shoulders, and then her eyes flitted into the den. They were vacant for a split second, before she righted them, firmly keeping back any MUSHY and BLEEGH feelings she could've been FEELING ('I mean like, EWWWWWWWW'). OK OK back to the main objective now. So, there were no dangers in camp from what she could see. Good. Great. Spectacular. Amazing. Positive adjective. And it was also of course, that all the scary stuff was clearly hiding from her. 'Well, seems as if nobody here DARES face me. Which THEY SHOULDN'T. If ANYBODY DARES i'll VIOLENTLY DISMEMBER THEM AND IMPALE THEM ON STALAGMITE BECAUSE NOTHING IS SCARY IN THE FIRST PLACE.' Ok maybe she wouldn't do that exactly, but thats because of, uh, uhm, entertainment value and stuff..... because she could, er, fight them......... and stuff. Yeah.

Hoshi shook herself from head to paw. Well, only one thing to do now. Scan the whole clearing again BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW SOME INSANO MIGHT JUMP OUT AT YOU ANY SECOND NOW!

She pressed her lips together, and realized she was shaking. Trembling? Quivering? Shivering her timbers? NO! THAT WASN'T HER! She made herself stop shaking, because she COULD do that and SHUT UP UNIVERSE-.

She promptly began patrolling the clearing again with a "this is fine" expression on her face, bristling for no particular reason except YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN A-.

[open!! warning: she will be probably be pretty not-friendly towards ur kitti if they interact ]

@Kix
Well well well, if it wasn't a new victim for Potato's enthusiastic entreaties for training. Another trapper (dammit why were the claws never in camp??), so he figured asking for fighting training was not the way to go. Because Anima had told him so! And he needed to learn how to hunt or trap or whatever at SOME point! He didn't know how much of that claws actually did, and he was going to be a claw most probably because that was the expected thing of him, and therefore what he wanted to do, but it couldn't hurt to learn, right? Surely he would be expected to know how to hunt at least a bit when the Crown assessed him for his final role.

With this thought in mind, and a nice little smile on his face, Potato approached Silence, dipping his head in what he hoped was a polite gesture. Excuse me? he enquired, tail quirking in an almost question mark. Would you be willing to teach me how to hunt a bit? I'm hoping to be a Claw, but they have to know how to hunt as well, right? Then he realized that he had probably blabbled enough and ought to shut his maw, before Silence got irritated. Because, you know, silence might be a thing she preferred.

CROW - BRINGER OF DEATH
HE/HIM - ATARI CLAW
Crow lay at the edges of Atari's camp. Watchful amber eyes stood apart from the tom's black coat. His amber hues flickered around camp, taking note of every little thing. The Claw never intervened - he simply watched. And waited until the moment revealed itself to Crow. Then, he strikes. But for now, he would watch the story unfold itself. As long as nobody bothered him

Default Re: The Rift [ Atari / RiverClan Border ]

— STAGHEART —

very large, muscular, & scarred light brown tabby tom with stark blue eyes and a torn ear; beefed up tier 2 | just a scratch

[ riverclan warrior | tomcat | 51 moons | gruff & battle-hardened, yet thoughtful; loyal to a fault ]

Stagheart was listening, all the more perplexed of the situation between the two she-cats when Dusklion spotted him and called out. He immediately hopped to his paws, hoping she wasn't about to scold him for potentially eavesdropping — but to his relief, she was simply asking how things were going. He just opened his mouth to respond when she added the little phrase... one of the best warriors in the Clan, huh? And the way she'd said it... it seemed like she'd really meant it?

Stag felt his skin burn under his pelt and was suddenly way more grateful for his fur's coverage. He quickly dipped his head, clearing his throat to hide his initial little cough of surprise. "O-Oh, uh, yeah... just fine, 'cept that these scent markers indicate a lotta cats out there. Reckon it's a whole group of 'em. We'll have to be careful... we ain't alone out here."

Even after he spoke, a little glow of pride still swelled in his chest — his deputy was proud of him and could count on him, eh? A pleasant surprise; he hadn't expected any direct compliments from her. Though a little flustered, the warrior tried to keep his cool and dipped his head, following along with Dusklion's instructions. An extra pep was in his step after the praise.

He discreetly glanced at Wisteriawren once or twice, the slightly curious part of him still trying to figure out what just happened between those two — but mainly shrugged it off for now. He wasn't exactly one for thinking too hard about things he couldn't fully understand, nor the things he wasn't involved in.

Finishing off his area of scent markers, Stagheart took up the rear behind the two she-cats and headed back to their camp, casting wary glances behind them as they went. Whoever these cats were... something stirred trouble in his gut at the thought of them. Prayerfully he'd be wrong, but... the greater part of him reckoned he had every right to be uneasy. Who knows who — or what — was out there?

Bearsnout made sure to keep a distance from Duskleaf's patrol, but still headed in the same direction. He didn't want the border group to scare off all the prey. That would not be good.

So he led the way with a carefree smile, keeping a bit of caution as he scouted out the new area. It was still a forest, but rocky. The rocks hurt his paw pads and were a vast difference from the regular ground back home. It was uneven, not flat. The trees were different too. They were tall and skinny. Now, he didn't know much about trees, but he was sure that trees like this didn't grow back home.

He'd never liked fishing. In fact, Bearsnout was horrible at it. He had all the patience in the world for it, yet he was so big. His shadow always seemed to scare away the little fish. Yet, he found himself missing the familiarity and comfort of the river. Even the littlest things. The smooth rock, the sound of the rushing water, and the solace of it all. Now it was rocky with tall trees, and no river and weird sense and-

Overall he was flooded with a feeling of homesickness. He knew it was foolish. He should stay optimistic, but Bearsnout was never good at handling change. And this was a big one. But he'd made it through that flood, and he'd made it through everything else with RiverClan. He could get through this too. Right? It's different territory, but the same cats. It's still RiverClan. He reminded himself as he padded through the territory.

It seemed his thoughts had distracted him, because when he paused to split up and hunt, Sharkhail was gone.

Oh no. Oh no, no, no. He'd lost Sharkhail?! In this unfamiliar territory?! What was he supposed to tell Dusklion- how was he supposed to know where to go?! Fadingsun would surely kick him off the Lionhearts. Panic was sleeping through him. It made him irrational. It made him spiral into negative thoughts. Deep breaths Bearsnout. Deep. Breaths. It'll be okay. You'll track Sharkhail and find him. He won't be dead.

"Garlicfeather. Stay here, go begin hunting. I'll go find Sharkhail." He instructed, drawing a line in the rough dirt with his claw to mark the meet up spot. "Don't stray too far." With that said he began to track the scent of Sharkhail deeper into the forest.

Bearsnout was able to quickly locate Sharkhail, who was heading back to the patrol with prey. He let out a relieved breath. "I'm glad you were able to find your way back. Sorry for losing you. I didn't realize you were missing. That's on me." He flicked his tail to the line in the dirt clearing. "Wait over there. I'll go catch something real quick."

He headed into the forest to begin hunting, tasting the air to find a thrush. He was pretty good at land hunting, though he preferred rodents. A bird would have to do. He caught sight of it and dropped into a crouch, stalking through the grass until he was finally able to easily pounce and catch the bird. He buried it and continued on with the hunt.

Just his luck. It seemed that he'd found another bird. It was smaller. A wren. The large tom, stalked the small bird through the grass and trees. It was a cute little thing, flitting around and pecking at the ground. He almost felt bad for killing it. But then again, he'd feel worse if he Clanmates starved. Sorry little wren... he thought to himself as he pounded and made the killing blow.

He scooped up the wren and then retrieved the thrush and waited on the clearing by the line, for Garlicfeather to return.

[ @chickadee @Fritter @Fish ]

Sharkhail may or may not had gotten separated from his hunting party but he was a grown adult, he could handle this on his own. Thought there was a slight fear in his heart thinking about what new predators could be out around this place. What snuffed this fear was thinking about how all the children in the clan needed food since they now had none. Pushing the fear down he continued on. After wondering around what seemed like forever the young tom was able to catch a few nice treats. A fat rat, and two sparrows become his treasure. With this in tow he walked back to the patrol spot hoping he hadn't worried his patrolmates too much

[Sorry I forgot patrols existed aaah]

Garlic Feather
Purrks; Just a scratch| Beefed up tier 3|
He-Him { River Clan } Warrior

GarlicFeather’s movements were rigid as they practically marched behind the two, eyes flittering from side to side as he searched the shadows and surroundings for danger. Although he’d been tired at the start, his paws seemed to have gained some unspoken energy he couldn’t track down the root of. But nonetheless it was energy and that’s all he could focus on, he noticed shark hails disappearance a moment after it was pointed out and gave a nod at the suggestion tail sweeping over the ground as he glanced at the crude line in the dirt. GarlicFeather rolled his shoulders and lingered for a moment, simply soaking in the brief stand-still moment before he slunk off paws light toward the tree’s to seek out some prey. What sort of prey was up here he wondered, fish he doubted for sure, perhaps from the lack of cats some of the predators up here there would be more plumper options to hunt? Garlic mentally snorted at the phrase lack of predators as it played back in his head, there wasn’t a whisker of prey so far. If it had been so predator-less he was sure it would be flourishing up here.

GarlicFeather’s focus swept his surroundings as he tried to switch into a mindset that would allow him to hunt properly, moving his paws slightly and in an attempt to sharpen his senses perked his ears right up. Jaw parting in a slow subtle movement GarlicFeather picked up a decently recent scent of mouse, not the exact expectation he had to find but prey was prey; even if small.

[Rolled a… 20/20. Dc: 10]

GarlicFeather caught a glimpse of the mouse and was thoroughly surprised by its plumpness, was star clan themselves feeding this thing or had it simply been absurdly lucky? Well its luck was about to run out. Slowing slightly he managed to get downwind of the furball and tensed muscles bunching in preparation of a pounce. Launching himself toward the mouse in a brief scuffle of paws he’d snagged it and sank his teeth into it’s neck in a killing bite. The mouse’s warm blood coated his senses and clouded them as he pawed at the loose dirt nearby to form a hole to keep the prey in from others well he prowled for more prey. He hoped that SharkHail had been safely found by BearSnout and both were having as much luck as he was with prey.

[+1 Mouse]

GarlicFeather’s thoughts got intertwined with his worries as he crept along, oriented on his past more than where he was placing his paws. He doubted he’d be wrong to worry about the cats still missing from the battle, but in cruel honesty he wasn’t really missing anyone in specific, the whole fuss over his ceaselessly dying mates had tired out his ability to mourn cats. And sure, he felt down from time to time about it but certainly the real thing he was grieving was the loss of their home and reputation in the forest. The clans were cruel and drove them out, were they even clans any more at that? They were more like a bunch of judgemental mutts that thought their opinions outweighed the kits, queens, apprentices, and elderly cats of RiverClan. His thoughts were swatted away before the surge of annoyance from the thought of that battle alone could submerge. His attention was caught by a flutter of feathers nearby and the scent of bird.

[Rolled a… 2/20. Dc:10]

GarlicFeather lingered watching the songbird for the right time, it was hopping along the ground clawed feet clicking against the smooth surface of rock it had landed upon. GarlicFeather kept his eyes glued to the prey and moved forward, claws unsheathing and digging into the dirt in preparation to launch himself upward if the bird flung itself into the air. Just as GarlicFeather prepared to leap a sickening snap made him jump and the bird chirped and in alarm called out as it flew. GarlicFeather snarled lowly as he examined the snapped twig, swiping at it and tossing it to the side his neck fur rose as he took a moment to survey his surroundings and sit for a moment. He wasn’t oblivious toward the idea that predators may be lurking around but he found no use in being fearful of them. If something did appear and it was bigger than him he’d have to hope it was something he already knew how to handle. After a moment of settling down he rose back to his paws and shook out his fur, slinking back to hunting.

[Rolled a… 10/20. Dc:10]

It took a good while of moving before GarlicFeather caught the scent of prey again, musky and clear. Squirrel like actually. His head perked slightly as he tried to recall the smell, chipmunk was it? Little ground squirrels. He wasn’t sure why his memory was so foggy on them, it wasn’t as if they were rare. Moving forward he spotted the chipmunk, perked and watching for predators yet back turned to him. Perfect. Moving forward every pawstep was light as could be and he constantly flicked his attention around incase other chipmunks spotted him, they had an annoyingly loud and high-pitched call so going after one was a gamble that risked the rest of them. Tensed once more GarlicFeather pushed out his legs and leapt toward the chipmunk, cutting off it’s squeak and stopping it’s movements by landing atop of it and rushing to bite it’s neck. Pride flashing across his face and in a brief moment of joy he rose his head and pulled back toward the mouse he’d buried, digging an additional hole to accompany it.

[+1 Chipmunk]

GarlicFeather headed straight off to attempt once more, he wanted as much as he could carry being taken back and wasn’t wasting a single sniff of breath waiting around for some to fall into his paws.

[Rolled a… 7/20. Dc: 10]

GarlicFeather was still lingering in his head, thoughts a buzz of menial things around him he didn’t like, like the rough terrain and how it scraped against his paws. The lack of constant flowing river’s or familiar scents. Everything was just.. wrong. That was the defining ultimate word for this territory as a whole. Wrong. He hated how wrong everything felt, all wrong. Blinking slowly he caught the scent of vole, his heart leapt at the prospect of more prey to catch for the clan. Slinking down to the ground his paws guided him a tad bit too fast and the wind changed on him- throwing his scent toward the vile and sending it scuttling off into the bushes. All very wrong
(Skipping writing out catching the last prey piece since i desperately need to go and just saying he caught a songbird )

[ total- 1 mouse, 1 chipmunk, 1 song bird.]

Making his way, prey clutched in his jaws, back toward SharkHail and BearSnout GarlicFeather dipped his head curtly and blinked at the prey they’d caught. He didn’t have much to say in all honesty nor do.

Vertigo
| he/him | Atari | Trapper |

So if Vertigo hadn’t eaten, and Asa hadn’t eaten, then there was only one thing to do. And it was better than just sitting in their unhappiness (that is, Asa’s perfect contentment, which was now being sullied by Vertigo’s unhappiness). And it was better still than the alternative: actually getting to work.

He jumped to his paws reflexively as Asa began to stomp his paw at the ground, trying to grab at his tail like it was a squirming mouse that needed to be stopped. “Uh, sorry,” Vertigo muttered, gaze fixed on the ground. He looked up. More clearly, now. “I’m gonna go grab something for us to eat. Be right back.”

When Vertigo was younger, he’d always just assumed that he was just like everyone else in the Atari. The supposed fact that nobody actually liked Trapping and fighting just developed naturally in his mind. Because why would they? Of course, his only evidence for this was his own feelings, but he had no reason to think otherwise, for a time.

But the passion that so many cats, like Asa, held clearly showed that the reality was quite the opposite. Vertigo remembered when they realized that some cats actually were happy, and it wasn’t just some kind of an open secret or performance. There wasn’t a specific moment, just a lump forming in Vertigo’s throat at one point and a thought whose volume seemed to increase more and more each day: You don’t belong here. You never belonged here, actually.

If everyone knew how miserable and pathetic and not at all Atari-like Vertigo really was, then they’d all come to hate him, surely. Okay, so maybe Asa didn’t hate Vertigo (he was pretty sure), but he still looked at him like the anomaly he was, with that same glint in his eyes that he had when he came across a broken snare. Just another broken thing not doing what it was supposed to, that was Vertigo.

“Alright, I’m back.” Because that wasn’t obvious enough, apparently. “Hopefully this is good.” He’d brought back two birds, each grotesquely mangled in that patented Atari way, and placed one before Asa. Of course, the normal thing to do would be to actually ask Asa what kind of prey he wanted, or if he even wanted any at all, but Vertigo had left in a bit of a hurry, so he just took two pieces that looked more or less the same and hoped that’d work. He kept his tail on the ground, on the opposite side of his body from Asa.

“So. Um, how’s Juniper doing?” Vertigo said between bites. Yes! Ask about his child! Why hadn’t Vertigo thought of it sooner? Such a straightforward way to shift the focus of the conversation away from himself and his own feelings, good job Vertigo.

(i’ve decided that the atari has a prey pile. this is fine probably)
