Yeah. Ok. It was a fact now. Misty's nuzzles had healing powers. Springkit smiled back at her and bit and tried to lean back, trying to breathe again. It came easier now, like the air had been filled with... actual air again instead of empty smoke. His stomach wasn't turning. His heart wasn't racing anymore, only beat a bit quicker than usual when he still tried to calm down. But it was better.
Sleep in the medicine den? It was strangely calm here, with the scent of herbs, the various items across the walls, and Misty calmly moving around in the den. He didn't like sleeping beside his mother, but he also liked how... safe it felt in here.
For a heartbeat, the kitten wondered whether Misty only said that because he had mentioned that being here seemed to help, whether she only offered to make him feel better. He didn't want to be a bother, but she seemed genuine. He let out a smol sigh and sunk back into the nest. "yeah... maybe I'll stay here in for a bit and rest..." her eyelids began to feel heavy "if that's ok...." and with that, he drifted off into a light sleep.

Berrypaw nodded at her mentor. "Makes sense to me!" She squeaked, mentally noting that it would be alright for cats to stay overnight even if they weren't in critical condition. Just to be safe. Good to know...
She glanced back at Grimpaw and Crowglow, offering a sweet but timid smile. "Well, ah... you can sleep right there, Grimpaw. Let us know if you need anything or if it hurts too bad, alright...?"
Berrypaw's ears straightened up and she glanced at her mentor with widened eyes. Pregnancy! Oh, stars... that was much more than a bellyache. Suddenly determined, the apprentice gave a firm nod when Mistyshard gave her instructions, trying to commit some of the symptoms to memory. "You got it!" she mewed, a bit excited at the premise of potential pregnancy. But unfortunately, as soon as her mentor turned away, Berrypaw realized she'd already forgotten half the symptoms that were listed.
Welp... guess I'll just try to remember all that I can...?
She padded back over to Redwater, offering an awkward but genuine smile. "Hi... again. So, uh, while Mistyshard checks you out... I'm gonna ask you some questions!" She shuffled her paws nervously before continuing. "So... have you been feeling, uh... restless? Having sleeplessness? Or, um..." What was that one word Misty said? Leth-something... oh, right. "...Or leth-ar-gic?" She pronounced the new word slowly and a bit awkwardly.
Berrypaw's ears perked up when Mistyshard called her. She'd been nervously watching as the cats filed into the den, a bit overwhelmed at all the chaos that had been happening at once. So many patients, so much meowing! But now her mentor needed her. Shaking off her daze, she nodded firmly and rushed to the herb storage. "On it!" She called, pawing out whatever she could find.
Running back over to them, she dropped the cobwebs and moss on the ground next to the large warrior... what was his name she'd heard earlier? Beast-something? By his size, he seemed to fit that description. Then Misty brought out marigold... oh, she'd have to apply it? And Mistyshard was leaving?
A small burst of panic was in Berrypaw's chest, but she tried her best not to show it. "Oh! Uh... y-yeah, I can do it!" She mewed, fighting to keep her voice steady. Sure, it was just the basics she'd already done before, but without her mentor being there in case she screwed up, the small apprentice was nervous all over again.
Trying (unsuccessfully) to put her thoughts at bay, Berrypaw spun back around to Beast-something, trying her best not to focus on how gross the eye injury looked. "Oh my... oh, uh, don't worry! We'll get you patched up in no time!" She mewed cheerily, a facade for her nerves. She began putting moss gingerly to his eye, soaking up as much blood as she could. Then she began to chew the marigold, grimacing at its bitter taste that flooded her mouth, chewing until it was a strange liquid. Then she spat it out onto the wound, trying not to think about the others in the den watching her as she anxiously worked to spread the marigold around, hoping she wasn't hurting the warrior too much. When she was satisfied, she began to unwrap some cobweb from her paws, glancing warily between the large warrior and Dusklion as she heated up under her fur.
Berrypaw nearly jumped out of her fur when her mentor came reeling into the den, panting with a limp apprentice on her back. Alarm spread all throughout Berrypaw's body — thankfully, Mistyshard seemed okay, but poor ol' Rainpaw sure didn't look like it. The medicine apprentice sniffed at him gingerly as he was laid out onto a nest, her eyes trailing over his wounds as her mentor explained everything.
"O-Oh... okay, yeah. Marigold, moss, cobwebs... I can do those!" She mewed with determination, giving Mistyshard a firm nod. "You can count on me!"
The words had left her mouth with confidence, but as soon as Mistyshard had turned away, Berrypaw about deflated with anxiety. Stars... what if she did something wrong? But how could she mess up something as easy as cobwebs and moss? No... she could do it... she just had to get out of her head...
Easier said than done.
Trembling, Berrypaw rushed forward and grabbed out the named herbs, immediately pressing moss to where she saw the most blood, silently praying it would be enough to soak up. "I-It'll be okay, Rainpaw," she mewed lowly, her voice shaky. The apprentice probably couldn't even hear her, but she just prayed some sort of comfort would reach his soul. Poor thing... what could've happened to him at the border? She wondered this as she began to chew up some marigold, anxiously making sure the moss was taking up all the blood it could...

Spiritbunny frowned at the news. Stress did hurt them. How badly did stress hurt them? Perhaps it would be better to just leave of that was the case but where would they even go? Thunderclan would treat them like outcasts, same with Windclan, and Spiritbunny didn’t want them to be born into Shadowclan, the bunch of brutes. No no. But where else would there even be? Their yellow eyes moved to the medicine cat again, they pushed the stress down (after all it was hurting her babies) as they took in the words the medicine cat. They really did narrow their eyes. Sigh.
They slowly rolled over and frowned. This was terribly uncomfortable but it was necessary. “Mistyshard, may I confine in you about something? About my kits?” They started as the herbalist began to diagnosis or whatever it was she was doing. Counting kits? It would be nice to see how many there were, to be prepared. Any irregular movements? What would it mean if Mistyshard found something? “What if you find something odd?”
Pain. That was the first thing Rainpaw felt as he regained consciousnesses. As the older apprentice slowly stirred, he opened his eyes to face the younger medicine cat apprentice. It took a moment before he realized what had happened. Bumblestar. She must have handed them over to another RiverClan cat. The apprentice hissed in pain as he looked at his side. His heart sank - if the cat who handed him over wasn't here, that means they went to tell Fades. "Got my head banged," he muttered, rubbing the side of his head. "Anything for the pain?"

The deputy's harsh words about his former mate washed over the injured warrior. A flick of his ear was the only acknoledgement that he'd heard the spiteful comment. It hurt, but it was certainly justified, and his head hurt way more than any insult to the cat that had abandoned him. He nodded his head in thanks. "You 'ave my word."
Dusklion went on to answer his questions and summarize the past few moons. Beastflame listened diligently, eager to hear news but not particularly surprised by any of the updates. Beansprout was an excellent warrior, and he wasn't happy to hear of his death, but in all honesty he hadn't expected the former leader to last long anyways. But he would've predicted an internal takedown if anything, not a scruff with Windclan. They'd always been amiable, he was disappointed to hear they were now at odds. Beastflame felt similarly about Stonepaw's disappearance. He'd half been hoping to see the little guy around the medicine den.
Dusklion was now on to near present day, explaining her own rise to a high rank position. Beastflame could relate to her need for justification - he had felt the same when he was a Shield. No one had been dumb enough to accuse him of nepotism, but it had also been there in the back of his mind. So Beastflame didn't react to the deputy's explanation, pretending not to hear the change in tone. "Jus' a typical time 'n Riverclan then, huh?" he replied dryly, a half grin on his face. "Will do," he added more solemnly in response to the deputy's orders to get better. It was his goal to recover as soon as possible. How else was he going to get back to normal? What kind of warrior would he be if he went missing for eight moons in the clan's time of need and then came back only to be deadweight? No, that would not be happening. "I don' think so, that was plenty helpful," he answered gratefully. The trove of information unloaded on him in the past couple minutes would give him plenty to mull over while he rested.
A pale gray tabby she-cat appeared beside him, startling him. It was strange, as though he was looking at a warped reflection of himself. She was also missing her right eye, and while her pelt was a lighter shade than his, her eyes were darker. The similarity confused him for a moment, and he didn't even catch what she said. Then she was gone. He blinked, clearing his mind, and she was replaced by a smaller brown she-cat who was clearly nervous. "Counting on it," he replied to her worried comments, trying to sound comforting and possibly coming across as gruff. The moss stung and scratched his injury, but he did his best not to react, not wanting to make the apprentice any more upset or overwhelmed. What he assumed to be marigold was more soothing, which he appreciated.
After the otter mess, Larkwing and the bulk of the patrol headed straight for camp. Uncharacteristically, the pretty tortoiseshell didn't cast one look at her (mate? Is that what they were? They'd never said anything officially, but... it seemed correct, almost.) Fishfreckle, instead veering off from the group and going straight to the medicine den. Her ear had stopped bleeding on the walk over, but it probably wasn't wise to leave it be. Better to have the medical professional look at it.
"Berry?" She calls from beyond the den, still feeling a little odd that it wasn't Tansy-- Wither she corrects herself-- still feeling a little odd that it wasn't Wither's name leaving her lips here. "Got something small for you," relatively speaking, at least. She's had worse than a torn ear.
Blood, everywhere. An absurd amount of blood. Gods, this sucked. Pardon his crude language. Frigidfang limped as quickly as he could to the medicine den and called out. "Berryshine? I need..." The world started to spin. He was really getting woozy. He shook his head and tried again. "I need... some help? Please?" The bleeding wasn't stopping.
And just like that, the world went dark for a second. When he reopened his eyes, Frigidfang was on the floor. How did he get here? Why was there so much blood? Godsdamnit, he was going to be sore for days after that kind of a clumsy fall. He tried to haul himself over to a nest but really only succeeded in getting blood everywhere. Oops. "Sorry, for the mess..." he called out weakly.
// @squidz - though berry's name hasn't been announced yet, this technically takes place after the meeting so he'll be calling berry berryshine if that alright! ;w; \\
Following close behind Frigidfang, the dark gray furred leader couldn't help but watch as the trail grew. It stained the rock path leading up to Berries' den. While she was invested in that, Stormstar missed how weak the warrior was and a thud signaled her to look up. Did he just... fall over??
"Here, I gotcha," she grunted and used her side to steady the unsteady - and still heavily bleeding, what the hell? - warrior. With how much of a mess it was, some of it even got on her fur. "...The hell did you get into?" she murmured, looking at the mess before looking bewilderedly at Frigidfang.

Berryshine looked up as Larkwing entered, immediately smelling the tang of blood and seeing it on her ear. Luckily it didn't look serious, not even bleeding anymore; just needed to be patched up. No biggie. The medicine cat — no longer apprentice, heh, that felt nice — rose to her paws and padded over, giving a reassuring smile to the former leader. It was strange to think how much had changed since she'd been a young kit and Lark had been where Stormstar now stood all those moons ago.
"Oh! Hi there, Larkwing. Please, g-go get yourself comfortable," she greeted pleasantly; with the severity of the injury being relatively mild (and still riding the small boost of confidence after getting her new name), she wasn't nearly as nervous as usual. She rummaged through the herb stores, glancing over her shoulder briefly. "Doesn't look too bad, so that's good... ah... w-what happened?" She asked out of curiosity, returning with a bit of marigold and cobwebs in her jaws.
Once the warrior was settled, the medicine cat began to chew up some marigold; luckily she didn't need much since the wound was small, carefully having divided half of the flower. Carefully putting the poultice onto the wound, Berryshine then wadded some cobweb over her paws and dressed it, sealing it up from further outside influences.
"...There. You should be all set!" She mewed, giving a nod and smile to the dilute tortoiseshell. "J-Just don't poke at it and it should heal up within a few days! If it comes off, come find me."

Berryshine was hit with the acrid tang of blood and whirled around, her leafy-green eyes widened in surprise. Before she knew it, the stumbling warrior was on the ground, bleeding profusely and staining his black-and-white fur red. Great StarClan—
"O-Oh my... w-w-what happened!?" Berryshine gasped, running over to Frigidfang. Thankfully Stormstar was there, assisting him in getting to a nest. Already blood was pooling everywhere, and she almost had to wrinkle her nose against the strong metallic scent despite being so used to it at this point. Immediately she rushed off to grab a gob of moss and began trying to part his fur, searching for wherever the source of bleeding was. "Goodness gracious... where is it coming from...?" She murmured frustratedly to herself. It looked the worst around his paw...
Carefully lifting up his paws one by one, the medicine cat finally spied one that must have been the culprit. But she almost could've gawked in surprise. It was... a splinter?
She couldn't help the almost-comical way she paused for a heartbeat to glance incredulously between Frigidfang and his paw, a silent question in her gaze. All this blood, almost enough to knock him unconscious... for a singular splinter!?
But Berryshine had no more time to 'stare at the camera', instead shaking herself out of her stupor and carefully pressing half of a moss ball by the small wound. She figured as soon as she'd release the splinter, it might gush out more. She'd never seen a cat bleed so much from one tiny little thing...
Using her teeth, the small brown she-cat leaned forward and plucked out the splinter, turning her head to spit it out; yuck. Now all she could taste was blood. Her suspcions had been correct as well; as soon as the 'plug' was removed, more red liquid began gushing out. Letting out a squeak of alarm, she put all the pressure she could against the wound, knowing cobwebs would be futile until she could get this to stop.
"W-What in StarClan's name..." The medicine cat huffed, shaking her head in disbelief as her initial moss was soaking through; she quickly traded it for the other half, her eyes wide but focused in concentration, her small paws pressing as hard as she could without injuring the warrior. It was quelling from her constant attendance, but still alarming. She did her best to keep her paws steady despite her entire body trembling from the sheer magnitude of how much was pouring out from his little, stubborn wound...
