Eggpaw started busily scratching away moss from some of the more used nests, and piled it in a corner so he could deal with it later. Honestly, it was like he was the only apprentice in the clan. Why couldn't one of the younger apprentices do it? He was sure there would be one or two more eager to replace bedding. sucking his teeth in annoyance, he continued his work.

Poisions??? Like the stuff that can kill you??? What???? Cloverkit examined the deathberry Lostspark showed him. Wow, it looked so yummy. Shame they would kill him. "Hold up. The berry is deadly??? What???? Some part of that delicious looking deadly berry has to be edible! It looks so yummy!!! How does it kill you anyway? It makes no sense!" he chirped to the medicine cat. Now next up was Nightshade. Okay purple flowers with black seeds. Easy enough to recognize, so wouldn't be much trouble for Cloverkit. "I would never kill a cat, miss losts. Its just plain rude. You have my word!" she vowed, green eyes glowing as her brown body wriggled with excitement.

Ho hum. What was a little kit to do? The nursery was boring... well, it wouldn't be if her denmates didn't partly consist of oldies, but this was ShadowClan. No room for complainers! Lightningkit wasn't that big, she was a mere two moons old. And a fuzzy ball of energy, no less! Who knows where she got that from in her family. Her papa was long gone, deceased. Dust. And her mama? The only mama she ever knew was in the nursery with her: Nightshiver! Her other mama, the one that brought her into the world, gave her life for Lightningkit.

But that didn't make lil Lightning sad in the slightest. Who wouldn't want to die giving the greatest Clan of all another kit to feed the flow of Clan life? Lightningkit was probably not like the other kits in the nursery. She didn't strive to become leader one day after Dawnstar eventually crosses that point in her old life. In fact, she could care less about leadership. Maybe one day that view would change, but Lightningkit highly doubted it.

Stability was important for a Clan, judging from what she had seen Dawny do. And it looked like one massive headache... cats were complete idiots and assholes to one another. But Dawny kept them in line... or tried to. But ah well. Those who died at Dawny's paws simply took their life for granted. This made her wonder...

"Mama? Does Dawnstar ever get a headache from all the idiots in the Clan?" Lightningkit sat with her hind legs sticking straight out, pointing left and right. Her teeny tiny baby toe beans splayed out, gripping on to the nursery floor. The little she-cat's hazel eyes stared at her adopted mother, her twitching whiskers being the only indicator of her seemingly endless energy. I should go outside soon and get some sun... the weather's nice.

Silkpaw decided he liked miss Spark. She spoke clearly, and she wasn't loud.
It helped that she gave him a smile.
He didn't know that they were related through Darkfall. He didn't even know he had older siblings. He barely knew his littermates before they all went missing.
If there was one good thing to come from Cloverkit's many questions, was that miss Spark answered each and every one of them, giving both young cats a better understanding of the potential of the herbs she would be teaching them today.

And onto the lesson itself.
Silkpaw paid close attention as miss Spark described and spoke of the poisonous plants. Just looking at the death berries made his skin crawl. Nothing good ever came from something naturally pretty, it seemed. And red seemed to be the worst culprit of all the colours he'd seen.
The description of nightshade also painted a very pretty, and very dangerous picture.
The idea that he'd use these plants against his own Clanmates made him sick to his stomach. Or anyone, for that matter.
But he simply nodded as Lostspark leveled the both of them with a stare, entirely forgetting she couldn't see him.
"Yes, ma'am. I won't, I promise."
And there Cloverkit was again, with her many questions and her loud little voice. He had to bite his own tongue to keep from telling her to be quiet.
Between the sickness he felt from the knowledge a simple plant could end someone's life without warning, and the inane chattering of the younger cat, Silkpaw couldn't help but feel stressed and overwhelmed. He tried to focus outside of himself, and to get his question across.
"If we saw someone acting like they'd eaten one of these, if there a way we could.... Save them? Stop them from dying? Or is it too late by then?"

rainykit flopped into the playden, his first real time being in here. he really preferred to just sleep, stars how he loved sleep, it was like a warm soft hug made with love, but he had already basically maxed out his sleep stat today. what did cats usually do in here? he didn’t know how to play very many games. since. you know. he spent most of the day unconscious. the small lad looked around, wide eyes taking in what everyone else was doing before he figured out what he should do...

ashkit stumbled into the playden, noticing rainykit out of the corner of their eye. they began to quickly approach him.

“oh-oh! hullo!!” they mumbled excitedly.

Dragonflykit ran her tongue over her pelt, slicking her black fur down. She liked keeping her fur neat - it glimmered in the sunshine - but it’s not like she could go out to see it shimmer /anyway,/ since everyone was all couped up inside. Maybe one day, but today Fly’s just going to groom her fur so she doesn’t go insane.
