After another brief moment of inspecting, Goldfish sighed. I think it's not worth the risk. If the scent of rats is as crazy as the number, we don't want to risk it. I can ask Fadingsun if I can bring more out here. After speaking, She froze. A rat, just sitting there. I can take it. Cloudbass, cover me if more come. she muttered, before leaping forward and grappling it with her teeth. The rat hissed, paws scrabbling at her, and managed to bite down on her foreleg. It wasn't hard, but enough to frighten her. With a snarl she jumped backward and then to the side before clamping her jaws on the back of its neck, shaking it, then dropping the limp body on the ground.
There was something off about the rat, though. The scent was sour and smelled like death. She turned toward Cloudbass. It smells sick. Best not to bring it back. She glowered at the tainted food and kicked dust over it. They were done here. Blueriver! We are leaving. Are you coming or not?! Her patience, already thin from stress, what being splintered. The cat had barely paid any mind to the patrol! Where even were they? With a sigh, she trudged toward where they had came. Come on. We're done here.
"yes coming!" he ran over

Welcome Home Neighbour!
=============== It's Summer Neighbour!
Pigeonpelt led her way into the Saltmeadow Marsh, the swampy landmark that linked the two Clans together, swayed gently under the guidance of the gentle breezes. It was a fabulous day and incredibly excellent for a border patrol near such a watery landscape. Gazing across to the ShadowClan territory, the molly was to take a deep breath of the air before turning over to the two clanmates. Glancing at Springburst before at Eaglepaw, she said, her voice coming out soothingly, words spoken delicately. "We'll start marking the borders here. If there are any... scents that did not belong, inform me- I'll tell Dusklion once we get back." She nodded with a satisfactory grin before turning back towards the borders.
Trotting over to a bush, she marked the scent before moving on to the next one. She continued gazing at Springburst and Eaglepaw throughout her work to see what they were doing. As one who rarely starts a conversation, she stayed silent, as for now. Dusklion said that the apprentice was a troublemaker—she would know soon afterwards. It brought back memories of being just as young, which were valuable memories.
@Eden @Mica (Sorry double pings - I think this is where they can spread out more?)
(Also feel free to talk to Pigeon about random things ^^)

Eaglepaw followed closely behind Pigeonpelt, making little noises of interest as they traveled further into the territory. "This is only my second time being out here," Eaglepaw commented lightly. "Fadingsun took me out once before..." she paused, looking stricken. The expression passed in a heartbeat, and Eaglepaw shook out her fluffy pelt. "I gotta wonder wha's it like livin' at the moors." She peered over the rolling hills as she followed Pigeonpelt's lead with marking the territory. "Gotta get pretty cold, right?" With no trees to block the flow of the wind, it had to be unbearable in leafbare.

Her smile grew soft when she saw the curious glint within Eaglepaw's orbs, and the way they gazed around in wonder. "You still have a long way in front of you to come out in the future." She said with a lash of her tail, memories flashing back to when she was also an excited and adventurous apprentice. "If you ever want to come out in the future but need someone, I'm always open." Even though the apprentice was young, just coming out for two times seemed a bit... little. At least to Pigeonpelt.
"Perhaps," Pigeonpelt agreed with the younger Riverclanner. What's it like on the other side? Gloomy, bright, cold, warm? "Maybe during leaf-bare, but I think WindClan's gonna be colder. It's just a large piece of grassland." She chuckled.

"Right, let's get going," Petalrot decided once Pearnose had joined bug and the apprentice, leading the way out of the clearing and towards Saltmeadow Marsh. The trek was largely boring and uneventful, so there wasn't much to comment on on the way there, and silence lapsed over the group. Once there, the tortoiseshell turned to the patrol. "This is our border with RiverClan," bug explains to the apprentice, in case Flamepaw had yet to visit the borders. "You can tell because of the strong, fishy scent. As long as there's nothing suspicious here, all we need to do is mark the borders." Bug's peace said, Petalrot wanders to a tree stump where they typically mark, adding a fresh scent there.

Eaglepaw gaped as she scanned the treeless horizon. "Wow..." she whispered. The idea of wind through her fur, cold and biting... it felt... right. Welcome. Eaglepaw didn't realize she was staring, frozen, for a few heartbeats until Pigeonpelt was a few paces away. The apprentice scrambled after her, ears burning in mild embarassment. "Oh! An' thanks for the offer ta take me out. I appreciate it. I'll let ya know if I need someone to escort me around." She gave the older warrior a big grin.
As they padded along the border, Eaglepaw continued to mark scents and keep an eye on defining features of the border. She'd hate to accidentally head over to the other side and get someone in trouble...

She hummed a response to the fascinated apprentice and continued slowly, waiting for them to catch up before she said, "No worries. Apprentices are the future of the Clan, and it's our duty to ensure you have the proper training." Pigeonpelt softly gazed over and grinned.
Watching the apprentice's cautious gestures, she knew that Eaglepaw was never a problem, unlike what Dusklion may have said. Perhaps stereotypical to troublesome apprentices, that's why.

Eaglepaw could definitely be a handful. Dusklion was right to keep an eye on her, but not for the reasons she thought. Eaglepaw had snuck out of camp three times as a kit, one of those times in the middle of the raid. But Fadingsun's warning that now that she was an apprentice she had to be more careful had been taken to heart. Eaglepaw also suspected Dusklion's warning was in case something happened with a ShadowClan patrol. The moors had changed into large pines and cheeping frogs, earning another gasp of surprise from Eaglepaw. It was more similar to RiverClan territory, but so much... larger? The trees were definitely much bigger and closer together.
The rest of the patrol went by without a hitch, and soon Eaglepaw saw the pine trees thinning out and the marsh drying up a bit. She looked to Pigeonpelt. "Are we done? Do we go back now?" She wasn't really sure how patrols worked.

My Mood:
Re: Saltmeadow Marsh
Pearnose treaded lightly behind bug. There wasn't much to talk about. The weather was getting warmer now that New Leaf had started. So that was nice. Though she didn't think too hard about it.
The gray she-cat came to a halt and stood a little ways a way as Petalrot explained Saltmeadow Marsh, and how to mark the border. She'd had yet to go on a border patrol with Flamepaw, in fact she hadn't done much of anything with him, besides that one herb patrol. But for some strange reason Batflight seemed to think that she'd be an amazing mentor. It left her heart wrenching at the thought. It was nice of Petalrot to speak up and teach Flamepaw though.
She cleared her throat and turned to Flamepaw. "Like Petalrot just explained, this is the border between RiverClan and ShadowClan. Careful with the mud, Flamepaw. It can get sticky in New Leaf when it's rainy. It makes it a bit tougher to patrol. But the weather hasn't been that bad recently. So we should be fine." She meowed thoughtfully.
"Now you just go ahead and find a tree, or stump like Petalrot did, and remark it to make sure that none of the RiverClan cats get too daring." She tried to be lighthearted about it, despite her recent moods.
Then, she swiftly turned away, and soft gray pads treaded through the marsh to find a tree to mark herself.

PIGEONPELT Warrior - Molly - RC
The rest of the patrol remained more silent than the conversations they had at first. Well, it was pleasant to talk to Eaglepaw, to say the least, and Pigeonpelt have had quite a great time. It was not quiet or awkward, unlike a few other patrols where cats didn't know each other. However, if only Springburst could come as well, that would be better- It was not good to slack off work anyway, after all, wasn't the warrior already alerted of getting weird and disappearing a lot?
Reaching the end, Pigeonpelt nodded his head with a smile. "Yes, we'll be heading back now. Good job today," the molly purred as she turned around with the lash of her tail. It's time to report back to Dusklion.
(Sorry for the shorter reply, but yep, we're heading back! You don't necessarily need to reply here but I'll ping you again in the RiverClan Patrols part ^^ it's fun rping with you!!)
