They really never expected this, y'know?
Asterblink never expected to dash away from WindClan, nor did they expect to be the reason of their mate's death.
Wonder had come up to them one night, and she was absolutely livid, hearing about the four kits. And honestly? They couldn't blame Wonder. Asterblink was reckless. It was their fault for finding Wonder in the first place. But during the night, Asterblink did blame her, because it was so blatantly obvious that Wonder was having kits.
They glanced back at the kit that was now born, present with Asterblink. It was official. Holly was a mistake. The night Asterblink had found out about the singular kit was the same night Wonder had confessed to having an affair, and it angered them. It angered them so much.
It angered them more than it should of.
Holly kept whining and grimacing, and it reminded them of Maplepaw when she was a kit. Maplepaw was as delicate as a maple... literally. She would be getting thorns in her paws every few seconds, and it was the job of Asterblink to pick it out of her paw. She was so weak, yet so strongheaded.. but her blood came from Wonder, and Wonder was bad. Wonder was horrible, Wonder was a cheater. But she was not as bad as Asterblink, themself. Asterblink was a murderer. Murderer. Murderer. MURDERER.
"SHUT UP!" Asterblink had finally snapped, screeching at Holly for some reason. Holly had jumped back in fear. That was weird. Asterblink had never yelled at anyone before. They were usually calm. Quiet. Kind. What was going on with them? Why did they do that?
Asterblink finally had something snap in their head. They were heading home, to where Kataro and Asher lived. Foxdung... what were they supposed to do? Holly would definitely spill to Kataro or Asher.
"Listen here, kid," Asterblink crouched down and their voice went low, "tell anyone about what had just happened, and I swear to the stars I will slit your throat." Threatening was the best way to go, right? That's usually what warriors did. Apparently so, as Holly stayed silent, his eyes wide. They sighed. "Okay, mummy is sorry. I'll get you a nice piece of mice, and you'll forgive me, right?" Asterblink tried to say as lovingly as possible. Holly nodded quickly and scampered off.
Asterblink got up from the ground and glanced at the huge twoleg building. It was time to meet their final two children.
Kataro and Asher.
