~ Hell yeah! The clanmate agreed! Hm.. Why did he seem so familiar.. or well his scent? Ah, It probably didn't matter if they couldn't remember. This was gonna be awesome AND they'd be benefitting the clan. Burnetnose gave the tom a quick nod before quickly making their way to the entrance of the camp. Burnetnose looked back at Owlbranch.

"I know the perfect place to hunt."

and with that Burnetnose didn't take any time to go out of the entrance of the camp. Nothing was gonna stop this cat from climbing a tree of sorts. ~

--the two made their way out of the clearing, and owlbranch followed behind burnetnose the whole time. they were the one leading him, afterall, though the way their scent wafted around his face and into his sense made his fur prickle, as if tiny splinters were digging in to his skin. though, the warrior spoke once more, and all feelings of doubt washed away seamlessly… or so he thought. "I know the perfect place to hunt.""lead the way." he smiled, before continuing to pad after the grey and ginger tabby.

~ And lead the way they did. Burnetnose quickly padded through the territory of their home looking back occasionally to make sure Owlbranch wasn't getting let in the dust. The walk was quiet save for the bird song and other noises of the forest. Maybe now would be a good time to strike up some conversation.

"Its too quiet. Your name is Owlbranch right? Tell me about yourself? Not gonna lie you looked a little down before I walked over."

Burnetnose hummed as they continued to walk getting closer to the spot they had mentioned earlier. ~

--silence spread between the two. while owlbranch didn't think of it as that awkward, gut-wrenching silence, he wasn't so sure about burnetnose. personally, he relished in the quiet. "It's too quiet. Your name is Owlbranch right? Tell me about yourself? Not gonna lie you looked a little down before I walked over." "oh, yeah, that's me. i, uh- well, it's a not-so-funny story…" his tail flicked back and forth as he spoke. "i, uh- i don't think my kits are, well, my own. my mate is expecting, you see. i'm just… worried."

~ Burnetnose had walked over to a tree after they had asked. Burnetnose eyed the tree for a moment while listening to Owlbranch talk. Something stopped him.

'i, uh- i don't think my kits are, well, my own. my mate is expecting, you see. i'm just… worried.'

Burnetnose turned their head to face to Owlbranch sympathy written all over their features but also something else. Was it fear? Burnetnose didn't even know, but tried to keep it hidden. Is that why the tom seemed familiar? No it couldn't be.

"I'm sure they're yours! You don't have to worry!! How far along is your mate?" ~

--burnetnose reassured the tom with confidence, their tone infecting him with the slightest ounce of hope, before he felt said feeling evaporate once more. owlbranch couldn't help the fact that he simply was an anxious cat. "I'm sure they're yours! You don't have to worry!! How far along is your mate?" how far along? his whiskers twitched as he thought. "it's not too noticeable yet, but she seems certain. i believe her; she's been acting a bit strange. i suppose it's just due to the fact she's pregnant." and he was going to be a dad, whether the kits were his or not. owlbranch could never leave them. he couldn't just let them go without a father. "i love her," he sighed. "and i'll love the kits… even if they're not mine."
