A resting badger [p]
.' Cottonsong '.
( @SpiritedWarrior )
The moors of Windclan fell into a hushed silence, the moon rose high above and all that could be heard was the peaceful breathing of the camp's slumber. Windclan was often seen as one of the most religious out of the four, due to their elevated terrain, making the distance between them and the stars shorter. The white pelted tom floated down, gracefully and invisible to waking cats, landing softly in the center of the open clearing. Alike most of the cats here his loyalty rested in the clan of the wind, so naturally he had kept his eye on this one the most over the past moon.
He made his way over to the open apprentices den, lots of which seemed promising, however he only wished to choose one of them for now, his eyes settled on a tuxedo tom, ah, there you are., the older apprentice had almost vanished into the night's shadows and out of sight from the white tom. He made his way over to the tuxedo tom, carefully making his way around each of the sleeping nests until reaching his. He bent his head down, touching the apprentice on the forehead gently, and sinking his breathing with the apprentices.
The tom's view opened up on the area of Starclan he had already picked out, a large open field with poppy strung across it, and sun instantly began warming his pelt, as he sat down. He made a low call, reaching into Badgerpaw's dream to guide him into the moor's of starclan.

Temperatures were dropping, the weather was freezing. Although Badgerpaw has been a Clan cat for six moons now, he's never experienced a winter outside. It was... beginning to worry him. Deciding to sleep on his thoughts, the young tuxedo tom padded into the apprentice's den and curled up in a ball. Drifting off to sleep, an unfamiliar voice began to call his name. It was quiet, but Badgerpaw was eager to find out who was calling him. Oh... humph... The young tom groaned as he got up. Who's wanting to talk to me? It's still nighttime! Trudging through camp as he tried not to wake anyone, he kept his ears perked, trying to find out who it was who was beckoning him.
"I-it's coming from out of camp! Oh... Twilightstar's not going to be happy about this... but if it's the outsiders we've been having issues with, I have to find out what they're doing so close to WindClan's camp!" his pace quickening, Badgerpaw soon felt the sun's warmth on his bi-colored pelt. "Wha..."
The young tom's green gaze flicked from one side of the moors to the other, confusion flaring in his gaze. H-how...? It's- it's almost leaf-bare! It- it can't be warm right now! Noticing the white, star-pelted warrior in front of him, Badgerpaw felt a chill run down his spine. No- no... I can't be... I can't be in StarClan!
"Am I- am I dead?" the young tom blinked multiple times as he tried to wrap his head around it all. "You have stars in your pelt- are you a StarClan cat? I am... I am so confused... I don't mean to be rude, sir... it's just... I've never dreamt of being in- in StarClan before. I've only heard stories about it."

Cottonsong blinked kindly at the apprentice, "Do not be afraid, young one. he took a step towards the black and white tomcat, poppy flowers shifting gently around his starry paws, the white Starclan tom felt a little bad, they hadn't meant to make Badgerpaw panic so much, but it was understandable why the apprentice would be frightened. "I am a Starclan cat, Badgerpaw, however I am not here to guide you to our ranks, but I can see why you might think of that, and I apologise for any fear I might've caused you. he dipped his head slightly in sorry, "I've been watching you for awhile, you are quite the talented cat, Twilightstar really doesn't give you nearly enough credit for your skills." Cottonsong gave Badgerpaw a small smile, "What you really need is a cat who will truly guide your paws along the best path, a cat who will help you hone your skilful paws and assist you becoming one of Windclan's greatest warriors." He tried to make his offer as enticing to the apprentice as he could, if he could get Badgerpaw to agree to his training then it should be easy from there.

Badgerpaw
Relief filled his gaze as he listened to the StarClan warrior. His paws felt lighter with the weight of death off his mind. At least I know my fur's thick enough to last the leaf-bare. he took note of how thick his long pelt had become throughout his time outside.
"It's okay," he shrugged, accepting the apology. "I've never seen StarClan before, it's quite interesting."
The young tom took a quick glance around the star-lit moors as he listened to what else this StarClanner had to say, his green eyes shined with awe at the vast expanse of land that unfolded around him. Flicking his curious eyes back to the dead tom, he was caught in surprise by the warriors' words. StarClan cats watch the living? Well if that isn't creepy, I don't know what is. In an attempt to remain polite, he kept his mouth shut and continued listening with perked ears.
"T-thank you," he purred and dipped his head at the compliment. He must have been really talented to be acknowledged personally by a StarClanner! "Are... are you suggesting what I think you are?" Was a StarClan cat really offering him training? I thought that was only for Dark Forest warriors- but I suppose if they can do it, StarClan can too... "I-if you are... I accept. Being a strong warrior for WindClan is all I want. Twilightstar deserves all the strong and loyal warriors in the forest!"
