Fallownose perked his ears as a call rang out, and he turned his head to spot... was that Coyoteear? And Butterflykit? He hadn't seen those two in nearly two whole seasons. The deputy quickly padded over to the two with an inquisitive look on his face. "Coyoteear, Butterflykit. Why have you two been gone for so long?"


Fallownose was out patrolling the territory for any signs that the rogues had been hunting on their territory when something jumping up and down caught his attention. He trotted over, his head tilting slightly as he noticed it was a kit. "Beetlekit? Where have you been for the past half-moon?" the deputy inquired, reaching out a paw to nudge them closer so they could keep warm in his fur.


Fallownose padded along the part of WindClan territory that was next to the Outskirts. The sight of a cat sitting politely at the edge of the territory was surprising, but it quickly made sense when he realized it was Honeypaw. The deputy inclined his head in greeting as he padded over to the molly, giving her a quick once over for any injuries. "Honeypaw, you've been gone for longer than I exiled you for."

Coyote'ear saw Fallownose and said, as she dipped her head "I was going through a rough patch when missing my mothers! I dragged ButterflyKit with me because I didn't want to come back knowing she might be dead, no offense!"
ButterflyKit was happy to see another cat besides CoyoteEar, she nodded at CoyoteEar's story ans smiled.

The brown molly strectched out her limbs as she left the den, she glanced around and found..... None other than Dirftstra! "DIRFTSTRA!" She called out running over to him.

Driftpaw laid on his back, staring at the cool leaffall sky. He jumped up, fur bristling when he heard a yell. He whipped his head around, and his face immediately lit up. "Fernster!" The black tom purred, sitting down again.

Moonpaw cheered for the new warrior, and looked around for her mentor, hoping she could get some training in today. She also wanted to look for Splitmeadow, hoping to figure out why he didn't come on the patrol.

"Snowybreeze! Snowybreeze!" Quickfur cheered. She knew that it was a great acomplishment and was very proud of the new warrior.


Swiftmoon also cheered, sitting beside her sister. She wanted to do something and decided to ask Cowpaw later to figure out what herbs he needs.

(Just so you know, Wolffang hadn't driven the mice out of their burrows yet. He was waiting to make sure Fawnpaw understood the instructions. I'll have him drive them out and respond to Fawnpaw in this post.)

~ WOLFFANG OF WINDCLAN ~

As soon as the apprentice nodded, Wolffang slunk away, sliding through the long grass as he'd done many times before. He wasn't as graceful as most WindClan cats due to his large, sturdy build, but he'd practiced the movements repeatedly until he could do it well. His dappled gray pelt also helped him blend into the rock-strewn, wind-blown landscape, making it difficult for prey to spot him. The squeaks of mice stirred his light-colored ear fur, and the wind shifted - thankfully in his favor - so he could smell their warm, rich prey-scent. We'll make a good meal out of you, he thought, narrowing his eyes at the hole. He would make his move soon. Quickly, he glanced up to make sure Fawnpaw was in position. He couldn't see her at first because of the long grass and her dark brown pelt, which camouflaged her better than Wolffang's fur camouflaged him. But he could tell she was there from the cat-scent blowing his way, and he caught her green eyes glinting among the stalks. He gave her a nod.

Right then, a pink nose emerged from the earth, twitching from an unusually pale muzzle. The warrior sprang forward, snarling. The mouse - and another that had joined it - squealed and bolted toward Fawnpaw. Wolffang stopped where he was, braced in case he had to redirect them. She could see them through the long grass, surely. As he thought that, there was a flash of chocolate-brown fur, and Fawnpaw caught the first mouse. She chased after the other one, and Wolffang tensed as it neared its hole; then, in an impressive display, the she-cat caught it. He nodded at her approvingly as she returned with the mice.

"You have the makings of a good hunter," the muscular tom meowed. "Good job." He caught her muttered comment and narrowed his eyes at the mice. Indeed, their fur was as white as snow, and their dark eyes were tinted red. He had not seen a mouse like that before. "Me neither. That's unusual," he murmured. "And yes, we should head back. But, although I don't want your hard work to go to waste, I'll talk with Fallownose and see if these are safe to eat." He didn't know if he should get Twilightstar involved, but the prey looked unusual, and he didn't want to risk making any cat sick. If I were still deputy, I'd be the one making the decision. The thought made him blink. It was weird thinking of it that way. But I'm not the deputy anymore. It's up to Fallownose to decide, and I trust his guidance. The dark gray tom performed his role as WindClan's deputy well, and Wolffang trusted him.

Wolffang collected both rabbits. The one he'd caught wasn't too big, so he could carry them at the same time. But he couldn't hold any more; Fawnpaw would have to get her vole. He nodded toward it, then began to head back to camp. I'll have her give me the mice as soon as I'm able to put this down, he thought, glancing back to make sure the dappled she-cat had her prey and was with him. Once he was certain she was, he quickened his pace, ready to report back to Fallownose.
