Once Larkpaw had done what she had wanted to do, the warrior lead the apprentice out into the marsh and pine territory of ShadowClan. The scent had been one that xe had always loved. He turned his head toward his apprentice, "Have you seen the borders at all? If so, what are the scents of the other clans?"

Borders were some of the most important part because knowing your enemies smell made it impossible for them to try and sneak up on your camp. His ears swiveled as he took in some of the natural sounds that surrounded them, like the birds high in the trees and the wind that rustled the pine trees

“Hmm, I like you more than the last one already.” Larkpaw commented upon reaching Sorrelflare's side while he waited by ShadowClan's camp entrance, because of course she had to start their training by disregarding her old mentor. At least Sorrelflare wasted no time, as he was off within moments, leading her on towards ShadowClan's marshy, pine-tree filled lands. Her amber gaze swiveled to lock onto her mentor when he asked her a question, and the apprentice contemplated for a moment on her answer. “I've been to WindClan's border, and to ThunderClan.” She admitted after a moment of silence.

Sorrelflare nodded his head, sweeping his tail so Larkpaw would follow his change of direction, "Okay, we will go to our border with RiverClan, along the way what are some things you remember from the other borders. Things like scents and what they are skilled at."

A test to see what Larkpaw might have been taught, though if what the apprentice said was true, they would have to be quick with the tour. Xe didn't want his apprentice to fall behind in training, truly no apprentice should have to deal with weak mentors but it seems that some warriors weren't even made for being apart of the clan.

Following after Sorrelflare, silently taking in the scenery for a few moments as she mulled over her mentor's question, Larkpaw said nothing for a while. Finally, with an amiable grin and a flounce in her step, Lark gave her overly enthusiastic reply to xem. "Dawnstar mentioned that WindClan were lousy rabbit-brains, beside maybe Twilightstar. But I got the gist of what she meant. WindClan's grounds are rather... strange though. Too windy, let's say, and too much open flat land." Her tail lashed against the ground, and bounding forward, Larkpaw continued.

"ThunderClan's trees are... different in comparison to ShadowClan's pines. And the smell, ugh, it doesn't have ShadowClan's earthy pine smell. It just smells like... damp squirrels. Yuck." Shuddering for effect, Lark grinned sidelong at her mentor as she skipped along at his side.

Sorrelflare chuckled nodding his head, "Very true, Dawnstar is incredibly correct, those WindClan cats only have a few good ones, other than that they really aren't a strong clan." Once xe got closer to the border, his nose twitched, xe never liked the smell of RiverClan. River water, reeds, and fish were not a good combination.


He stopped and pointed his tail toward RiverClan's side, "That's RiverClan and this is our border with them Saltmeadow Marsh. RiverClan cats tend to be incredibly lazy, they are able to fatten themselves up on fish which makes them slow but they do have more body mass."

Mutely trotting along, Lark inclined her head to let her mentor know that she was listening, and not just taking his lessons for granted. She had learned a long time ago that hard work summed to great things. A little push on her part would pay off.

Wrinkling her muzzle slightly as xe pointed out RiverClan's border, Lark couldn't help but recall that she'd been here as well. "OH, yeah. I remember the fish-brains Dawnstar spoke of. I did go to all the Clan borders. Oops." Lifting a shoulder in an elegant half-shrug, Lark gazed at the murky saltwater for a moment before turning away. "Well, I suppose that's that."

The russet tom rolled his eyes slightly, flicking Larkpaw's ears just slightly with his tail as he lead the way towards the Mourning Ruins, xe wanted to show some parts of the significant parts of the territories but also teach the apprentice how to hunt seeing as prey often come around the burned ruins.

Once he finally was there, he studied the burnt building ears twitching slightly before he turned his head toward Larkpaw, "This is the Mourning Ruins, when WindClan raided ShadowClan they took shelter here but it was mysteriously burnt down and killed a few cats which is why it was renamed."

Xyr's tail flicked slightly, "You said that your old mentor didn't teach you anything correct?"

Smirking quietly as Sorrelflare flicked her ear with his tail (even though the friendly gesture took her by surprise), Lark let her pawsteps carry her in the direction xe was going. But she was not following xem mindlessly, no. The lithe grey damsel was commiting all to memory, from landmarks to other significant objects to mark their trail.

Mourning Ruins. Huh. "'Suppose the name says it all." Lark allowed the words to slip past her lips, and then turned back to Sorrelflare. "Yep, I don't even know what he looks like, as he never showed himself to me. I just know his name, Foxshade, because Dawnstar said his name obviously."

The russet tom nodded frowning slightly, that will set us back slightly but no matter, i'll make sure she is trained well. His tail flicked slightly as he thought, "Okay, I will show you the crouch and some steps forward but I'm going to teach you how to track. It's important for you to understand how to do it because it will be helpful in many instances."

Xe slipped into a hunting crouch, keeping his body low to the ground and slowly stalking forward ears swiveling slightly to pretend he was listening for a prey item. He stopped and stood up, "Go ahead and try it."

Dropping into a hunter's crouch the second Sorrelflare rose from his, the lithe, short-furred grey apprentice blinked upward at xem before refocusing. She didn't have anything to say, but nonetheless started formulating something in her mind to speak of if the situation called for it. At last, only when her tail hovered a little ways above the ground and her body pressed to the floor, did Larkpaw look up again. "That good?"
