Vaund wandered around the area, amber eyes peeled for anyone approaching. He'd heard this place was a good place to somewhat reside and survive in, but the downside was that it was close to some groups called "Clans." What they were, Vaund didn't known, but what he did know was that they could fight, and that was something he wanted to avoid. Still, he also didn't want to starve or dehydrate to death, so he needed to risk it. Why couldn't it have been farther from those cats?

Rain Grey blue she-cat with darker blue swirling markings and pale blue eyes
Rain noticed another cat that didn't smell like those... Clans? She was still fairly new in these areas and was defiantly up for a chat or something. "Hello! How are you?" She asked running up to them.

Vaund looked up in surprise, not having expected anyone else to be out here. His fur ruffled a bit, and he grew wary, looking around and at the stranger for a long moment. Who was this? Were they a danger? Were they of the Clans? No... They carried a different smell than the one that drifted from the forest. And they didn't seem hostile, given they were quick to strike up a chat with the dark blue-gray tom. Hmm... Perhaps it would be alright to talk.
"I'm... Alright..." he answered cautiously, looking at the she-cat through narrowed eyes. Just because he was speaking didn't mean he trusted them at all. Hmm... Perhaps time would change that, but he doubted it. "... And you?"
Mist
Well, perhaps if she hadn't been so stubborn about certain things in her life she wouldn't have gotten to this point. Navigating her way through the rocky terrain now, avoiding patches that looked especially unsafe, Mist found herself unable to enjoy the scenery she had once been looking at. Every step came with the little jingling of her bell, that was attached to her collar and, unfortunately with all of her trying, had not been able to come off yet. She was certain it would ruin any hunting she tried to do - not that she knew how to do much having been cooped up her entire life. But not even having the option to try...
Coming to a halt as a strange new scent entered her nose, Mist blinked and surveyed the land before her. There was a forest ahead, where the crumbling path gave way to soft forest floor. It looked intriguing to the russet furred abyssinian, whose yellow-green eyes flashed with curiosity. What was down there??

Stormpaw was sitting at the border of the outskirts, casting occasional glances at Beestream. She knew they’d come here to go hunting, but she had picked up a very fresh scent. Curious, she began prowling towards it, wondering if someone was planning to intrude on RiverClan territory. And before she knew it, she found the cat the scent was coming from – an outsider. Her working eye narrowed and she dropped into a crouch in an robotic way. She would not let anyone harm Birdy or Fawn or... or anyone else of her clanmates again. Thinking of Silverpaw are we. She let out a low growl, showing the outsider that he better stay on his side of the territory because Beestream and her would not let a stranger through. “Who are you and why are you so close to RiverClan territory?” she hissed.

Beestream followed stormpaw, bee wanted to hunt something too plus she can leave this apprentice here by themselves, her ears perked up as she heard stormpaw shout. “Stormpaw why are you…. Shouting???” She questioned as she smelled a new scent… thats no clan cat “stormpaw thats no clancat, they dont feel like a threat” she said softly as she turned back to where the scent was coming from “Please come out, we wont harm you” she said softly

Mist
Almost immediately a strong voice rang through the air and halted Mist in her tracks. Her ears perked up and head snapped over, eyes growing wide as they landed on two strange smelling cats. In fact, they smelled strongly like the scent line that appeared be before her. Looking down at her paws and noticing they were rather close, the abyssinian took a couple steps backward and dipped her head. "Apologies! I didn't notice the scent markers." Ears were drawn back as an apologetic look crossed her face, their earlier frustration towards their collar forgotten.
Another voice came then, this one softer. It made Mist relax a little, but she kept a wary gaze on the first cat. "...You sure about that?" She wasn't entirely convinced, considering the first cat looked as though she wanted to launch herself across and tussle. Mist wasn't really looking for a fight today - plus, she didn't even really know how to all that well. "...Is this all your home?" Despite the lingering anxiety, curiosity couldn't help but peak through as she stared wide-eyed at both cats.
Doepaw awoke to coughing, but it wasn’t her’s.
She rolled over onto her belly and stood up. It was barely dawn, and the sun was just beginning to reach out its tendrils of life sustaining warmth. Doepaw did not notice this, though, because she was currently paying attention to her father, who lay curled in the corner of the den, his breathing raspy. “Dad?” Doepaw meowed tentatively, lightly tapping him with her paw, her nose crinkling at the stink that rose from his old nest, “Dad, are you okay?”
Featherbounce (Who had long ago changed his name to Eagle, though Doepaw didn’t call him that.) cracked open his rheumy amber eyes and looked up at his daughter, “I’m fine,” He snapped, ears flicking back, “It’s just a little cough, Doe.”
Doepaw knitted her eyebrows together, “I think it might be more than that, Dad. It sounds awful, and you’ve been bedridden for the past thr-“
Featherbounce cut her off angrily, “I’m fine, Doepaw. Don’t worry. Just…” He stuttered, trying to think of something she could do, “Just catch us something to eat, alright? A mouse, maybe? I’ve a hankering for one.”
Doepaw didn’t want to leave her Dad alone, unattended, but she knew that if she went out, she could possibly find some herb or something to ease her father’s cough, and the thought of being able to help him gave her hope, so she nodded, ”Okay,” Doepaw said finally, still a little uneasy, “I’ll be back in an hour, tops. Don’t try to get up or anything until I’m back, okay?”
No answer came from the sick tom. “Dad, okay?” She repeated.
There was a grunt, “Fine. Okay. Whatever.”
Little assured by her father’s response, Doepaw ducked out of the den and trotted off, praying to StarClan that she would be able to find some food.
So, after finding a fresh mouse trail, following it, and killing the mouse at the end of it. She set off for a place where she could sit and take a few breaths before heading back to her father.
The mouse swung from side to side in Doepaw’s jaws as she followed the well-worn path to a small craggy area where there was a small patch of moss where she could sit. Long ago, she’d learned that the reason why the little path was so clear was because, before RiverClan took it out of their territory, the Rugged Range was known as Lionsrange, and the Medicine Cats would come and get herbs here (they had all died because of the frost.). Ever since she and her father left RiverClan, they’d been hiding out in Lionsrange, living off of the edge of the RiverClan territory, remaining undetected by patrols and RiverClanners passing through. Now that Lionsrange was the Rugged Range and no longer part of RiverClan territory, Doepaw and Featherbounce could sleep much easier, and they no longer had to worry about being discovered and attacked by former clanmates.
Doepaw dropped the mouse and took a moment to catch her breath. Her mind wandered to her days long ago with her brother Antlerpaw (he would be a Warrior now, wouldn’t he? She wondered what his name was.) and her mother Littledeer. She hoped her brother and mother were doing alright. She would absolutely die if anything had happened to either of them.
Soon, she noticed that she’d been gone for a while, so she turned for home.
Doepaw hurried back to the den, the mouse gripped firmly in her mouth. She didn’t dare stop. She wanted to get home as soon as possible.
Featherbounce was where Doepaw had left him, curled up in his stinking corner of the den. Doepaw padded up to him and poked him gently in the ribs, he rolled over, looking at the mouse in her mouth. “I’m not hungry,” Featherbounce grumbled, trying to act all tough, though Doepaw knew that he was just trying to get Doepaw to spend more time on herself, “Just eat it yourself.””
Doepaw rolled her eyes as she split the mouse between them, “No, you have to eat, Dad. It will help you get better, it will keep you strong,” She explained, pushing over to Featherbounce his portion of the mouse, “I hate to see you like this.”
Featherbounce nibbled at the mouse. He clearly didn’t have much of an appetite, which worried Doepaw all the more. “Promise me you’ll eat all of it today, please?”
Featherbounce rolled his eyes, a scowl on his face, “You remind me of your mother sometimes,” He meowed plainly, taking another bite of mouse, “But, fine. If it will make you stop fussing over me.”
Relief flooded Doepaw’s heart, but she feigned nonchalance, “Good. Thanks, Dad,” She meowed, sighing with relief despite herself.
Featherbounce shot Doepaw a scowl, but he then he went back to nibbling the mouse before a coughing fit racked his body and he had to stop to catch his breath. Please, StarClan, Doepaw pleaded, watching her father with eyes threatening to tear up, Let my Dad live. Please, let him live.

Nothing could change the gnawing hunger in Spider's belly, similar to the desolate feeling in their chest. Where were they? He paused in his wandering. His muscles felt so tired. When did he last eat? Thinking was too hard. Their head hurt. Lightheadedness forced the black cat to sit down with half-lidded eyes. He pulled his lips back into a snarl. Stupid soft paws and stupid prey and stupid everything. "It's not my fault I don't have claws," they growled to nobody. Spider tried to shake the fluff from his head...or was there any? "Huh?" he muttered out loud, then blinked. Spider felt so hungry and he was very, very lost. Maybe sleep would help. Besides, they wouldn't feel hungry if they were dreaming. He, instead of finding a shaded, safe spot to sleep, curled up where he was. They were a bit exposed, out in the open. Spider tried to ignore the ferocity with which the snow bit into them, tucking their nose under his tail. Spider mewed softly in his misery, wishing for...home? Eclipse? Maybe even overtly flirty Destiny?

Aria noticed a cat, starving, cold and alone. “Are you alright?” She asked them,”I’ll get something for you.” The black molly went off, and returned with a shrew in her jaws, dropping it in front of the cat. “Eat up, you’ll need it,” Aria said, shoving the vole towards them.

Spider perked up at the sound of another cat's voice...though they thought they'd hallucinated one once so was the voice real? He'd just have to trust in the black molly, deciding not to speak to her. He felt too tired for that. Weak? Spider shook his head at themselves. No, never weak. Always perfect. Perfect, just like the returning shine in his eyes when Spider caught sight of...FOOD. And like that, he gobbled up the fresh-kill like a greedy rat. Maybe he was one. Spider would never admit it though. Around his last bite, the cat offered the best gratitude he could. "Thank you." And because he was a learning cat, Spider chose to be a bit polite. "What's your, uh, name?"
