strange encounters

hazy eyes blinked awake, shaking out the memories of last night's dreams. the tom scrunched his muzzle, flicking his ears as he looked at his surroundings. it had only been about a week since escaping his former home, and wolfy had not yet adjusted to his new surroundings.
dappled sunlight shined on his face, encouraging him to continue his adventure. wolfy shook his fur, stretching his limbs and finally walking out of his make-shift den. moss stuck to his slightly damp fur. his paws gently touched the ground, carrying him through the forest. everything was so new. he soaked in the atmosphere, listening to the birds chirping. the warm air swirled around his spotted pelt, and for once wolfy actually felt some sort of freedom.
but, unfortunately, the freedom came with a cost. wolfy's paws stopped as his stomach growled. he hadn't eaten in a few days, and hunting had been rather difficult for him. he sniffed the air, looking around to try and locate some sort of prey.

The fluffy she-cat was treading along an unfamiliar path her golden yellow eyes narrowing as she looked up at the sky begging for starclan to lead her home. The extremely undersized she-cat lifted her nose and began scenting the air as her ears were perked listening for any noises. She had been hungry for some time hardly making it out in the world on her own though she refused to let that stop her as she held her head high with a smile her golden-yellow eyes gleaming with the same child-like curiosity and cheerfulness she had always possessed.

wolfy

the tom sniffed the air, flicking his ears. footsteps sounded through the forest. the scent of another flooded him, and he blinked his eyes awake once more. it smelled, familar… another cat perhaps? but the footsteps and sounds seemed rather small. as if this was a kitten of some sort. what would a cat of that size be doing out here?
his heart beat raced, pounding in his chest. he was so hungry, and the threat of another cat scared him. what if they caught all the prey he was after? wolfy couldn’t possibly go another night without something in his belly. yet, he couldn’t fight. and he couldn’t even bring himself to harm a kit, if thats what this cat even was. so, he decided to be bold. wolfy moved through the bushes, stretching his neck around. he flicked his ears, swatting his tail. “hello?” he spoke, looking for a sign of the other feline.
