Wildclaw hissed, rabbit kicking his belly, sending him flying off her. "It's a challenge!" Her gaze shifted from hostile to bright and happy. She lunged at him. "Whoever wins the fight, the other group has to hunt for them!"

Fernpaw didn't know how he managed to knock a full grown cat down, he was quite tiny after all, but his victory was short lived when Otterleap squashed him. "Squeaaaaaak!" His little cry of protest was muffled by the onslaught of Otterleap's paws, and he thrashed and flailed as he wiggled away from the warrior. Otterleap hadn't hurt him (thankfully - Fernpaw didn't like pain), but he wasn't ready for the barrage of blows to come his way.

It was a surprise that made Fernpaw feel more alert, his blood pounded in his ears as he scrambled back to his paws to face the warrior.

Otterleap seemed pretty paw happy, so he decided to try to take him off guard. Fernpaw darted to Otterleap's left, using a paw to lightly bat at his side as he ran past him.

The bats to Otterleap's side had unbalanced him for a moment and he worried that Fernpaw would knock him over. But, he was able to steady himself and he ran to his side and tried to knock Fernpaw over by using his forepaw to sort of sweep Fernpaw's front forepaw. He hopped back a bit, but enough that he wouldn't get hit by Fernpaw and get dragged down to the ground as well. He still wanted to be able to dart right in and pin him down if Otterleap succeeded. He crouched down low, ready to jump again.

Fernpaw wasn't skilled enough to dodge Otterleap's leg sweep, and he collapsed to the ground with a low ooof! Fortunately enough, he wasn't winded by the knock down and wiggled upward. His front paws flailed madly, an attempt to strike Otterleap by any means possible. It was harder now that Otterleap had moved back, but perhaps he'd get lucky when the warrior made his next move.

Otterleap had actually succeeded, but now he had a problem. He would have ran to Fernpaw and pinned him down, but Fernpaw was flailing out and that made it almost impossible. So, Otterleap needed a new idea. He reviewed his options. First, he could go through with his plans. It was risky, but it could really help him a lot. The second option was to have Fernpaw flail out until he got tired. Then, Otterleap out continue with his original plan. That was all he had, but the second option was pretty good. He decided to stick with that one.

Otterleap stood up, but didn't move. He only hoped that his plan wouldn't backfire. While he was waiting, he thought of all the ways it could backfire and how to fix it.

Fernpaw was SO ready to take Otterleap down with his flailing technique, but his buddy stayed out of reach. Fine -- if Otterleap didn't want to come to Fern, Fernpaw would come to him.

He began to worm his way over to the warrior, pulling his body along the ground as he flailed his paws wildly in Otterleap's direction. He'd get him now! .. If he didn't move too far.
