The terrified tom seemed to relax slightly seeing as the large cat didn't get any closer, but sat a comfortable distance away from him, his shoulder relaxing a bit but he still remained rather crouched to the ground, his gaze unable to focus on the other tom for too long before eventually his gaze settled on the other warrior's right ear so it at least sort of looked like he was focusing on his face. He's found that some cats get offended if you don't look at them in their face when you're talking to him, but looking in another cat's eyes was almost impossible for him, it was just too intense, he couldn't hold it for long.
Rookpatch's ears perked up slightly as he heard Dogtooth begin to respond to him, the calico's tongue fervently licking at his lips again as he waited to process what the other cat was going to say to him.
Am I.. Okay? The question caught him off guard, the only real cat that asked that was his mate, he wasn't used to another cat really caring about how he was doing, normally they just tried to converse with him because they felt bad before ultimately feeling too awkward or grow impatient with him and leaving him alone again. Flicking his ears a bit, he looked at the ground without really saying anything, wondering what he should say. I'm just.. I don't know.. What should I say to him? I'm scared.. Like I always am. And I'm cold. And I don't have much of an appetite.
But before he could manage anything out, Dogtooth was correcting himself and instead telling the calico his name. Blinking a bit, he looked back up at the tom, offering a faint, quivering smile, nodding his head before looking back at the ground.
And I'm supposed to say, nice to meet you, my name is Rookpatch. That's how this goes.
Clearing his throat a bit, he puffed out a small breath, trying to prepare himself to speak. It was always so hard because he felt like other cats hated waiting for him to eventually spit out whatever he wanted to say.
" Nuh-N-N-Nuh-hi-ice-Nice.. N-uh-hice tuh-to muh-m-m-me-heat-meet yuh-hou-you.." Clearing his throat, he shook his head a bit. " Nuh-hice-Nice.. To muh-meet you too Duh-Duh-D-DD-uh-Dogtuh-tooth-Dogtooth.." He forced himself to take a small break and lick his lips a bit. " Nice to meet you t-uth-too D-Duh-hog-Dogtooth. I-I.. I'm u-uhm.. I'm Ruh-hook-Rookpatch.." The tom eventually managed out, looking at his paws now, scared to see the other toms face. He was probably horrified at how terrible he was at speaking. He didn't want to see it.
{No, it's fine, trust me! XD}
|
Dogtooth was silent for a moment, replaying Rookpatch's mutters in his head. The tom was a little... hard to understand, to say the least. But Dogtooth understood. He had trouble speaking to others too sometimes, and while it wasn't near as bad, he understood how frustrating it could be.
"Nice to... meet you too, Dogtoo- Oh!" He chirped in surprise once he had finally been able to piece together Rookpatch's words, and hurriedly tried to reply to fill up the silence. "Uhm, It's nice to meet you too... R..ookpatch?" He tried the name on his tongue slowly, a smile forming. "Rookpatch. That's an interesting name! I'm uh, pretty sure you can guess where my name comes from," He mews meekly, his lip getting caught on one of his large fangs as if on some kind of qeu. He licks his lip, settling it back in the right place.
"How did you get Rookpatch?" He asks, nervous.
He tenses up a tad when he realizes the death sentence he's just given Rookpatch - the poor tom had trouble enough introducing himself, and now Dogtooth has just asked him to explain the meaning of his name.
Good one, mousefodder! He kicks himself mentally.
"I mean, I understand if you dont want to tell me about it..." He adds stiffly, eyes glued to the frozen earth. "B-because, uhm, names are kind of personal!" He adds, trying his best not to call attention to Rookpatch's verbal predicament. He tries his best to muster up a reassuring smile, but it's wobbly and unsteady, the adreniline of talking to someone getting Dogtooth fidgety.

Re: WindClan Territory
"Admiring my pelt? For what reason?", the molly was kinda confused. What was there to admire the fact that she had a large scar across her shoulder. "You know what never mind..", she said as she went silent.

She was glad that the time it took to rebuild after the Evil Era's destruction was helping herself to lighten up, but it just would've been so much better if it had never happened in the first place. Singenight's takeover coupled with the fire which had devastated Windclan's old camp was a means for immense tragedy, and she hadn't exactly been the same since death had been brought to so many cats who were close to her. "Cats have been questioning Dapplestar's leadership abilities, that's for sure- and ever since Starlingstep disappeared, it's almost like she hasn't been able to trust any cat enough to pick a deputy, especially after what happened with Singenight." She sighed. "We really do need a new one, though- that's correct. I just don't know if our leader will be able to make the right choices- if what happened to her happened to me, I couldn't exactly say the same for myself, right? It's all kinda... up to chance, I guess. I hope our deputy's less like Singenight or Gorsefeather, though- and more like me or you." She explained, letting her tail gesture first towards the ginger tom and back to herself, just hoping that they'd be able to have a clan filled with peace and harmony again like beforehand.

Blazingstorm nodded in agreement. It was nice that she suggested him being a possible deputy, although he couldn't help but push the thought away. Of course he didn't say anything about it to Galespring as he didn't want her to think he was questioning her judgement. "I just hope she decides to assign one before her kits are born," he spoke. The idea that the clan would be run on the leader being a queen was terrifying. Most times she wouldn't be able to think straight and other times she'd be too busy with her kits, Windclan couldn't run like that. Blazingstorm blinked his golden hues, resting them on the rabbit she pushed in his direction. Flicking his ears as if to rid his thoughts, he allowed his body to flow with the energy it normally did, an almost kittish energy. With quick movements, he shoved the hare back towards her hoping she'd finish it as he had lost his own appetite. As he shoved the hare, he lowered his other paw and sprayed up a little snow that misted the ground, purring happily when the flakes drifted around into Galespring's ebony fur. "Might have to start calling you Birchspring with a pelt like that!" he teased, rolling onto his side and letting his legs sprawl out across the ground beside him.

Re: WindClan Apprentices' Den
Foxpaw walked into the den he had been trying to find Singenight and had followed the scent to amake area he had never seen before but he lost the scent and now he had finally returned home, his wounds now reopened and he was too tired to get to the medicine cats den. Foxpaw laid down and closed his eyes finally succumbing to his wounds.

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
@ Zero to Hero
Picking her way through the snow that still dappled the ground, sending spikes of frost up her legs, Moonkit pushed her way through the entrance to Surgestorm's den. Ever since the chaos from her Clan's liberation - and the news of SkyClan's existence still sinking in - the apprentice aged she-cat had worried over both her uncle and father. She had already confirmed that Swiftflight was alrighty; a bit bruised and battered, but still alive. Now she needed reassurance that her uncle, Surgestorm, was doing alright. Moonkit could only imagine how hard the reign of Singenight had hurt her uncles herb storage. She had waited until the traffic outside his den had calmed down before making an appearance.
"Surgestorm?" she called out as she entered, letting her eyes adjust to the dim lighting of his den. Her heart was thundering in her chest as she didn't catch sight of him first. Had she missed something? Did one of Singenight's allies take him down while she was fighting for her own life? From running around and checking on her Clanmates, she had completely forgotten about the long scar along her flank and the cut above her eye, both pretty gruesome from when Striker had pinned her down. She had never been so scared in her life, and truly believed she was gonna die. It wasn't until a RiverClan warrior - Larkflight, she remembered catching her name briefly - knocked the Dusk Syndicate fighter off her that Moonkit was able to scramble away and out of sight. Until now, she hadn't given much though to her own injuries, and physical pain was nothing compared to the chaos circling inside her head.

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Surgestorm was snoring quietly from his nest when Moonkit first entered the medicine cat den, getting the first good amount of sleep he had had since the evil era started. The battle was over, and he had sat down to rest after treating much of the clan, only to accidentally fall asleep. This was the first time he hadn't had a nightmare over the things he had experienced in the last brutal 18 moons. However, it didn't stop him from worrying in his sleep. The tom would mumble the names of herbs every few seconds, as if he was sorting through his herb stores while in his dreams. The battle had drained the last few bits of his herbs, and now he was left with barely anything to treat his clanmates with. And with winter already upon them, it was only a matter of time before something bad started to happen. When it did, there would be little the WindClan medicine cat could probably do to help. The tom planned to talk to the other medicine cats during the next half moon, to see how they were doing, and to see if there was anything they could work out to help eachother out.
He finally stirred when Moonkit called out to him, perking his ears at the familiar sound and scent of his niece. "Moonkit?" He mumbled sleepily, shifting into a sitting position. The tom hadn't had much time to worry about his kin for a while, but it didn't mean that they hadn't crossed his mind a few times. He caught sight of the cut on her face, and instantly went pale with worry. "What happened to you??" He gasped, rushing forward, sniffing at the small cut, and then catching sight of the bigger one on her flank. "Who did this? I'll hunt them down." His eyes blazed with fury for the cat who would dare hurt his niece, just a kitten, during a battle that was supposed to be between just warriors and apprentices.

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
@Zero to Hero
Moonkit felt a rush of relief wash over her whole body as she finally spotted her uncle, sound asleep in his nest. She was about to back out of the den, knowing Surgestorm needed his sleep after the past few moons, but was too late as she heard him shuffling into a sitting position. Moonkit opened her mouth to speak but could barely get words formed in her mind before the WindClan medicine cat was rushing over to her, sniffing over her cuts. Oh right. she recalled, and with that felt a sharp tingle apparent now in her forehead and flank. Ouch, she thought, wincing a bit as her uncle's nose just barely passed by her forehead. "I was trying to help. I am old enough to be an apprentice now. I just... don't have any fighting skills yet," she joked softly, chucking a bit. She had been so eager to find Surgestorm and help him that she'd forgotten to realize that this was a very real battle with very real danger, and that only became apparent once Striker bowled into her side. Moonkit glanced up at her uncle, her eyes a bit worried as well. "I was coming to see if you needed any help stocking up? Or with anything?" she asked, wanting to help and take her mind off of everything - her delayed apprentice ceremony because of the evil era, the fact of SkyClan, etc.

Re: WindClan Medicine Cat's Den
Surgestorm caught the tiny wince and quickly apologized, swallowing his anger for the moment. He began to clean the wound on Moonkit's flank with carefully gently strokes of his tongue, already begining to wonder how he was going to treat her wounds when he didn't have any marigold, chervil, or cobwebs left. However, an idea quickly popped into his mind and he dug into his herb store digging dried oak leaves from the way back. He carefully began to chew them into a poultice, all the while listening to Moonkit talk. The medicine cat applied it quickly to the wounds on her forehead and flank before replying. "You just have to be careful," He murmured, touching his nose to hers. The tom could see that the kitten was also worried about him and about other important things, and knew that she usually came to him when she wanted something to do to take her mind off things. "You could help me take stock of the herbs I have left?" He hadn't done so yet, not wanting to know how bad it really was.
