..••°°°°••.. he sighed, his good eye blinking slow. he sat there and let the medicine cat work her magic but then that question. did he feel it? he tried to blink but only his good eye moved while a hiss of pain left his lips as he felt his bad eye roll up and blood trickled from it. "ehh- yeah- hurts- not sure if it...blinked, cant see a thing out of it" he sighed, focusing on his good eye to blink with. "I don't think that one kit likes me...blossomkit, my son...I guess we were crowding him? he was hungry...he just...doesn't like me" he looked frustrated...no he was. why would his kit, not even a full moon old, h a t e him? "maybe...its my scent?" he mumbled

Curiosity had Twilightstar leaving the roots she was grooming herself on and following a new father as he entered the medicine den. She had been cat watching and basking in the sun, trying to take her mind off internal exhaustion, when she saw Brightfire dart from the nursery and into the medicine den, hints of blood clinging to his scent.
She was tempted to get up and check on the nursery, but then thought for a moment. If there was a serious problem, Leopardsong or one of the queens would have made a bigger fuss about it. So Twilightstar gathered her paws underneath her and headed into the medicine den instead. After ducking inside and traveling down the small tunnel, she waved her tail in greeting after she spotted Lightingstorm with Brightfire. It looks like she was tending to his eye.
"Sorry for the interruption," the leader said, "I noticed Brightfire darting from the nursery and into the medicine den and wanted to make sure everything is alright." She pauses for the two to fill her in.

As Brightfire spoke, Lightningstorm grimaced, uncertain of what to say. She understood that kits could have a temper. She had been a kit with a temper. But lashing out to the point of taking out an eye was... not acceptable. A part of her wanted to ask him if another warrior had been able to set the kit aside to talk to them. If some level of control had been regained. Not even the most rambunctious of apprentices had done damage to this degree. It was... troubling at the very least.
Asking about the kit's fate was not her job, however. He hadn't been hurt, clearly. The father here seemed to be more worried about what he could have done to deserve being injured in such a fashion than anything. She was certain that at the very least he had not struck the kit for his misbehavior, which was quite frankly commendable, as a part of her wouldn't have blamed him if it had been instinctual. The nature of his injury would have made such a retaliation not only believable, but understandable as well. Considering she saw no kit blood on his paws nor were there any queens rushing into her den with news of the attack and a hurt kit, her priority lay in her patient. She would worry about the fallout after the fact.
"Right. Pain. Well, if it hurts, that means the nerves are still workin' alright in there. Hopefully this means there's some hope to save the eye but... if you can't see through it, I'm not sure if we can save the vision. I don't normally see kits with the capabilities to be able to pierce through an eye. Let alone to do this level of damage, but- Oh, 'ello Twilightstar. No bother at all," Lightningstorm mewed as she continued cleaning the area around the eye gently, pausing only to look at the leader as she entered before returning her attention to the tom's bloody eye.
"No injured kits, not if I understood proper," she mewed, giving Brightfire a questioning look - a silent query for confirmation on the matter - before continuing, setting the moss down before heading towards her rehydrating herbs, grabbing the plumped celandine in her mouth gently before walking back to her patient. "But Brightfire's eye here has seen better days... erm... well... You get me. Speaking of which, I'm a small cat, love. Crouch down for me and look up, if you could be so kind? I need to apply some drops of this flower's petal juice to make sure I can give you the best chances at recovery. It'll sting up a storm, but do try not the blink too much, please? Gathering more celandine has been bloody impossible this newleaf, so we'll want to get these few drops in right there first time."

His ear twitched and his nose caught scent of twilightstar, ah- bound to happen- he shakes his head a bit, to confirm no, no kit was injured...it must be his scent he shook his head again as if to rid thoughts and he settled down and looked up. oh gosh- it might burn but not as much as his confusion to why his own son hated his guts. "the kit...blossom...I don't think he knows right from wrong...not many kits do" he mumbled "I believe his mother and CrowBones were calming him down..." he adds "oh and his siblings...I think its because he cant hear...I mean..I would be grumpy too if a bunch of cats crowded me..." he then remembered "and I might...have been in his face- clear range for his claws...oh..I shouldn't have done that..." his scent changed to a worried bit, clearly he was more worried about blossomkit then his own eye..."I'm not very worried for the eye...I got another one" he hums...talking more out of worry and fear, would his son hate him forever?

Twilightstar let out a breath she hadn't been aware she had been holding, hearing there wasn't any real trouble in the nursery. The feeling didn't last long, giving way to puzzlement upon learning of Brightfire's eye injury. She took small steps forward, a few whisker lengths away from Lightingstorm to look at the tom's eye she was working on.
"Um, forgive me, but you're telling me that one of your kits managed to scratch you in the eye? I can't help but wonder how that happened. I've had nearly twenty kittens myself. Your kittens are under a moon. They don't typically show aggression at that age. If he was mad enough to scratch..." The whole thing sounded quite ludicrous to her. She wasn't a kitten expert, however, if Blossomkit was showing atypical signs of aggression at such a young age, Twilightstar wasn't sure it was safe to keep him in the nursery with the other kittens. She felt silent while watching Lightingstorm drop liquid in the tom's eye. She said it's stinging, but he didn't even flinch.
"How is the eye?" She questioned Lightingstorm. She was hoping Lightingstorm might clear up some of the confusion in her mind. Kitten claws were sharp, and cats' eyes were delicate, but not that delicate; otherwise, eye issues would be the norm. This is the first time she's heard of a warrior getting injured by a kitten in all her seasons as WindClan's leader. Trying to shove aside her disbelief, the damage couldn't be that bad. Blossomkit was practically a newborn.
"You also say he's deaf? Is he communicating?" Deaf cats weren't something Twilightstar had much experience with. A deaf cat with anger issues... well, that's a whole different nut to crack. Pumpkinpaw, although she hadn't a clue where he had vanished to, had issues with his ears while he was young. He left her concerned about his future for a time as well. MarshHeart glared into the medicine cat den as he stepped through the entrance his strained wheezing announcing his arrival, as well as the silver striped pelt and the cat attached to it held by their scruff in his teeth. "Lighpingsorm or someone hah isn'n me grab iis"
MarshHeart called out through the fur, by 'iis' he must mean the unconscious cat dropping scarlet dots on the floor as the older warrior unceremoniously let go of QuickWhisker, letting whomever cat catch him or the floor, his jaw too sore from dragging the warrior back from the valley to hold on much longer, he got him here that's what counts he thought.
MarshHeart took a few steps before collapsing into a log of huffing, moist furr-ed elder cat.
He watched as the young toms flank raised and fell at least he made it here alive, that was good, yeah that was good... I'll have to apologize when he wakes up, not that his ego was my fault getting all rilled up over some teasing, falling off a cliff, if the kit hadn't been so naive to believe there were rabbits in the valley then none of this would have...
I'll have to apologize...
He winced interrupting his thoughts as the warmth in his paws had turned more into firey jabs along the way, the rocks probably cut into his paws, at least the pain would keep him up long enough to answer lightningstorm or at least see the kit off.
He hoped anyway.

Quickwhisker was worse for wear. A once lively and energetic warrior was now a limp mass on the den floor. One paw was twisted in a way that is hard to describe in any way other than wrong. The crown of his head dripped deep red blood onto the floor.
He was breathing, though. It was shallow but steady and rhythmic. As the silver tabby lie there small, pathetic noises erupted from his throat. Yet his eyes didn't open and his movements remained little.

The drops go into the tom's eye one at a time, and much to Lightningstorm's relief, they all reach their mark. True to its nature, the celandine clears away the blood and debris in there, allowing the medicine cat to better see just how exactly the kit had managed to blind a full grown adult. Eyes, as easy to damage as they were, weren't completely defenseless. If that was the case, every battle would see the entire clan lose at least one eye, and soon enough no one would have any left. Not only that, but a cat's body was predisposed to instinctually protect them. Blinking or shutting your eyes close at an impending strike or at getting most anything in them. Not to mention simply moving out of the bloody way. Brightfire must have had quite a case of ignoring his base instincts for it to have gotten to this point.
"There. See it?" Lightningstorm mewed at Twilightstar's question, lightly pointing with her paw at the area where the scratch had evidently caused its damage.
It was... a far deeper scar than any kit should have given. Kit claws were sharp, yes, but they lacked the strength and durability to be able to do this amount of damage to a fully grown warrior. Not only must have the kit been livid enough to get a boost of strength, Brightfire must have legitimately just stood there while the kit dug its claw as deep as it would go. Stars alive... she'd heard of soft parents, but this was taking it a bit too far. Letting your kit destroy your body was no way to teach them right and wrong or how to coexist with others. If this was the damage the kit was doing at a mere moon of age, what would happen as it grew older and the tantrums increased?
"If I'm bein' honest here, I'm fairly certain I can save the eye but... The vision? It'll take StarClan itself to fix tha'. Doesn't mean I'm not giving it my best shot, though. Here, let me just make a poultice and wrap up that injury with some cobwebs and you'll be good to go," the herbalist mewed, heading back towards her poultice stone to work on the marigold she'd left soaking in the water while the leader and warrior talked.
