some basic decency, yeah? [p]
It's become mundane, she realized. Watching cats squabble back and forth. Whining and yowling about something or other. Dewkit had never watched down with anything but disregard. They were absolutely obsolete, sitting on their tails and complaining about territory or murders or some other unimportant matter, starting wars like there was no tomorrow. Dewkit could scoff, but it'd be a waste of energy for something so... plain. Idiotic. Brainless, if you will.
She'd almost turned her eyes away, sick of it all, but.
Things tend to catch her eye. Important, worthwhile things.
She'll admit her standards had lowered some, but there'd been such a long drought of cats finally acting with virtue; true, honest morality. Dewkit could take anything.
Well, not anything. She wasn't a walked-all-over imbecile, unlike some she shared the stars with.
So, Dewkit had waited. And waited.
For all the time she'd spent dead, she would have expected her patience to last longer.
Nevertheless, when the chance arose, she dragged Gingerfrost up, up, and away. She liked tall places, high up so she could look over everything and nothing at the same time, the grey cloudy skies blending with her pelt. The kitten settled upon a flat stone, atop a cliff, that might've been sun-warmed in the waking world, and blue eyes turned onto the ginger cat. RiverClan's so-called leader, or so she believed since the last time she'd bothered to stay up-to-date.
"Let's cut the chatter, 'cause I don't care for niceties and how you're doing. Nobody cares. And I don't care about your dumb clan politics. You're here 'cause you bothered to help some kits out. Correct?"
Not that Dewkit cared to hear Gingerfrost's answer; she'd seen it with her own two eyes. It's just these cats are stupid and get overwhelmed easily. Can't necessarily dump a river of knowledge onto a cat's head and expect them to still function, can she?

Re: some basic decency, yeah? [p]
This was never meant to happen. This was never meant to take place. It had only been a moment, just a second, just a brief hearbeat when he was alone that he allowed himself to finally, after several days, close his eyes. For just a second. Just one moment where he wanted to rest his eyes.
He didn't realise when it happened. When he drifted off, only to suddenly be jolted up, and up so high. And when he opened his eyes, unsure whether he was awake or asleep, he didn't know where he was. But did it matter? Laying belly on the ground still, a kit was looking down at him, starry-pelted much like Goosefury and Flyfur had been.
Unsure of what was going on, why he was here, the tom cleared his throat and allowed himself to get up - taking on a more appropriate stance. Then the kit spoke, and for a moment he had to think. Help kits? When did he help kits? ...Ah, right; the battle. Realisation dawned on him as he looked at the young feline.
"..The clan did."
He finally spoke.
"I told them to, though I hope they would've done the same even if I hadn't."
Yes... The clan had done a fine job keeping the young out of harm's way; whether it was to his orders or on instinct didn't matter. Kits and untrained apprentices had mostly been brought to safety from what he could tell, much to his relief.
But what did that have to do with his summoning here? Why was he here? Eyes locking on the kit, he allowed for his own silence to stretch on before he posed one question:
"Who are you?"
The previous two star-pelted cats he had known; whether it be on a personal level or not, he knew their faces and names. This one was foreign. What brought the kit to calling him here?

Re: some basic decency, yeah? [p]
It took a lot of Dewkit's willpower not to roll her eyes. "Please, stop pretending to be humble, for both our sakes. Like every other clan that's ever existed in history, yours would have done absolutely nothing, and we both know that," she snapped harshly.
The kit looked on unamusedly at Gingerfrost. "I'm dead," she hummed out, gesturing with her tail to her starry pelt, once grey-and-white. Unruffled. Stale. Nothing, when you got down to the specifics.
But her identity wasn't why she'd chosen to break through the mundane ways of death, and she wasn't all too interested in answering useless, pointless questions. "Listen, I'm gonna give you a life. For your 'nobility.' Continue to help the youth; stars know they need it. And if you don't," Dewkit's lip pulled back in a sneer.
She left that unfinished and rose from her little rock, hopping down to stalk over to the ginger tom. "Do you accept?"

Re: some basic decency, yeah? [p]
He wasn't being humble, he was speaking the truth. But it seemed the StarClan resident and himself had a difference of opinion when it came to that - either way, it didn't sit well with him the thought that the clan wouldn't have taken the kits to safety had he said nothing... He expected they would. It was the only right thing to do.
Moving on, it didn't seem like the kit intended to share much either. Only stating that she's dead, not even a name or clan, nothing; but fine, so be it. If the kit was truly dead and this was a dream, she could realistically only do so much as taunt him until the dream faded. And yet, this had a peculiar feel to it.
A threat came. After stating she'd give him a life. Memories of what goosefury told him flashed in his mind, and his gaze became sceptical. The threat was duly noted, his mind more focused on the supposed giving of a life - did he even want one at this point? They were nothing unfair chances given away who knows why. If anyone deserves a life, it's his sister. And who know if this wasn't some dumb prank?
But he could already hear her yelling at him. Telling him what a fool he was to even question this; the way the stars work he would never understand anyway. So why reject the offer? If it was going to be taken away moments later he'd surely find out... And she'd been gone for so long. He'd give anything for her to have a second chance, but did it even work that way?
"..Fine."
After some silence, he gave his answer, giving a light nod of agreement. It felt selfish in every way, and skies he did not know why he was agreeing to this - it's sketchy. But he kept his gaze on the younger (or potentially older) cat as she approached, steeling himself for what might happen. No one gives instructions for these type of things - they should.

Re: some basic decency, yeah? [p]
Dewkit's eyebrow, the one just faintly touched by the white on her face, quirked up. "Glad I'm not living in a time when cats don't say 'please' and 'thank you'," she scoffed irritably. She had half a mind to body the RiverClan leader right then and there, but she was dead. Wasn't necessarily going to get her anywhere, was it?
She gave a light shake of her head, clearing her thoughts off. She went through all this trouble of doing some funky StarClan dream stuff - might as well go through with her original plan.
"Gingerfrost," Dewkit began, taking her final steps closer to the living cat. "I gift you the life of virtue. May you protect your clan's future, and uphold righteous morality."
With that, she briefly pressed her small nose - or, tried to, because she was forever small - to Gingerfrost's. Virtuosity was that deep feeling within when you did the right thing, not for a reward but because you knew you should. It was like the sun had shone itself only upon you, illuminating you in a wreath of light. Warming. Seemed like a fitting choice.
Dewkit drew back, piercing blue eyes upon her company, criticizing his every feature. "Goodbye," she said plainly.
And that was that.

Re: some basic decency, yeah? [p]
What can he say? He always lacked manners. His childhood was filled with more pitied looks from queens than it was actually being educated on saying 'please' and 'thank you'. The kit in front of him was clearly disappointed; he ought to be embarrassed, though he felt more perplexed than anything else.
Even so, his lack of manners didn't seem to change the kitten's mind: she was still stepping closer, speaking his name. He could feel his body tense for some reason, unsure of what happened next. Though seeing her movements, it was much like that of an apprentice ceremony - for when she reached up to touch noses, though uncertain, he leaned down to just briefly brush his to hers.
That's what is supposed to happen, is it? It might be. He felt strange upon the brief contact; as though something was changing, but he couldn't quite pin-point what. He felt oddly warm, oddly... Calm? Though the feeling faded as soon as it came, and he was left feeling not much different than he had before.
But supposedly, he had a second life now? He still could not wrap his mind around the idea, around the unfair thought of all this. And yet there was only one way to truly find out - a way he might want to avoid testing. The life of virtue... Well, regardless of whether this was all real or not, he could try to upkeep these words. This 'life'. Protect his clan and uphold righteous morality; righteous was a big word, a complicated one too. He'd have to figure out what righteous morality really is.
And just like that, as the thought passed through his mind, everything faded back and he returned to the waking world.
