Bored. That's what Quickwhisker was. Bored! Sitting around the WindClan camp hurt his soul. He should be out chasing down rabbits, but the new solo travel ban from the traps dotting WindClan made that impossible! Every cat he asked to join him had something better to do right now.
All but one.
With a sigh of defeat he made his way to the warrior den. The ancient warrior he thought of stood no chance against Quickwhisker's speed, but all he needed was some cat to lay around in the sun while he had all the fun. "Hey, Marshheart, wanna go hunt rabbits? I heard a patrol caught scent of some near the valley!"
MarshHeart opened one eye to look up at the young warrior, QuickWhisker...
He paused for a second considering things, on one paw he'll have to cancel his mid morning nap to listen to the yaping of a half kit all the way to the valley, on the other paw he was starving, hadn't left camp in a good while and he thought he heard crowtooth talking about retiring some warriors...
"haaa.." he sighed pressing his head into his paws before looking up at the warrior dejected. "fine, but I swear on starclan if you even begin to yap on the way there i will bite your tail off and leave it to the crows, understood!" his tail lashed as he got up and stretched, he probably wouldn't bite his tail off but a good nip would keep the young tom quiet... maybe.

"Race you there!" Quickwhisker darted to the exit, swerving between cats. It was hard to deny that his dexterity was impressive. Before he was out of view, the silver tabby slid to a halt and turned to wait for Marshheart. Quickwhisker could never stand still, his paws were always shifting and shaking. He wanted to get out and run already!

MarshHeart stared at the spot the young warrior stood just moments before after a few seconds he felt his paws ache with the thought of having to rush to the valley, regret was already settling next to his hunger.
He sighed and walked after QuickWhisker taking his time as he gave quick greetings to other warrior's around the den before making his way out. "I don't race, it's a waste of energy and makes a warrior less observant"
He stated to the tom as he came to a stop beside him. "how you notice anything other then your whiskers on tree bark going that fast surprises me"
He finished, His tail flicked with something unknown before yawning and walking along the path made from many pawsteps out of the camp.

"Simple!" Quickwhisker trotted alongside Marshheart, having to constantly slow himself to not get too far ahead of the soon-to-be-elder. "Unlike you, my eyes still work!" He giggled to himself, having fun poking fun at Marshheart.
As they walk, they come across a few traps. Quickwhisker does NOT take them seriously. He jumps over foot traps and stands on catch traps. Someone is very full of himself today. StarClan's favor was surely the only thing keeping this tom alive.
MarshHeart growled, his young companion's seemingly indifference heck even arrogance with the twoleg traps was driving him up and long beyond a tree. "QuickWhisker!"
He snapped, tail lashing as the tom jumped onto a metal box, the danger he was putting himself in for nothing but ego was astounding, MarshHeart was sure he had never seen such a reckless and thoughtless warrior clearly their former mentor didn't care or couldn't get some common sense into this cats head. "do you have less sense then a mouse or are you just that irresponsible to act as if the traps are toys? The clan has lost cats to these traps both their lives and their bodies and yet you act as if your starclan blessed, have you thought of how many cats have disappeared in that trap your standing on, warriors even apprentices who did not have a chance to be warriors unlike you, acting foolishly like a kit"
MarshHeart couldn't help but hiss, his fur bristled with anger in what felt like every tuff of fur.
He couldn't stop thinking of the apprentices before him, old freinds who never had the chance to hear their own ceremonies.
And yet here stood a warrior who had no appreciation for the chance to serve his clan or even to live amongst the living, if it wasn't for his young age MarshHeart would've just let the fool wander to his death, but maybe he could still yet learn, he thought to himself although in truth he doubted it.

Quickwhisker jumped down and continues to walk. "I'm just having a bit of fun!" His voice had a bit less energy than before, Marshheart's words clearly got though the silver tom's thick skull. As they approached the valley the sound of running water becomes apparent.

he hissed softly under his breath, his pelt refusing to lie flat as they walked towards the valley.

"That foxheart!" Quickwhisker hissed to himself. He still bothered to sniff the air in vain hopes of something, but nope! Just water and rocks. Quickwhisker didn't wanna go back to camp, it would be a waste of a perfect day! The silver tabby walked close to the edge of the cliff and stared down at the water. It ran so fast between the rocks. He backed a paw-length away and turned back to Marshheart. "Well, uhm...At the very least we got some fresh air! I heard that is one of the best things a cat can have before meeting StarClan!" More jabs at Marshheart's age, how fun!

MarshHeart narrowed his eyes at the young tom before stalking to the edge of the cliff, choosing to ignore his obvious bait.
watching the water crash against the rocks was almost therapeutic especially if he imagined a few cats that needed a good drowning right there. at least the water covers his yapping.
He thought to himself while chuckling softly, if he was gonna be here he might aswell pick a place that was conventionally louder then QuickWhisker's nonsense and talking.
He wouldn't mind looking after apprentices and joining a few warriors here or there but lately they all seem to have one tragic flaw and that is their arrogance and irresponsibility he thought, surely their mentors aren't so oblivious to it? Or is windclan that desperate for warriors they take anyone fully trained or not.
He sighed, a depressing thought but not much he could do other then make sure his own apprentice was a decent one although that would mean they have to show up to training, maybe hold off retirement a few more moons...
... or he could bat some sense into a certain silver tom who couldn't keep his nose outta MarshHearts age, surely he could do something better? ohh
His lifted his chin a smug air of mischief in his meow as he turned towards QuickWhisker. "so? What are you waiting for, you dragged me out here for rabbit where is my rabbit?"
