Sisterly Love

Yawnnnnn!! What a bright and oo pretty day! Looking at her nest the grey furred Molly purred. Her Daisy flower was still there! Daisypaw streched. Ignoring the slight yet normalized ache in her limbs, "Sissy and I are gonna hang out!" She reminded herself. Getting up and limping over to Berryshine, forgetting to do her streches. "Berry, Berry! BERRY!!" DAISYPAW exclaimed happily. "Come on come on! You said we could hang out! Your not busy right? If you are then I can still help you!" Daisypaw purred brightly. Sitting down she mewed. "Were gonna have so much fun! I got you first so Big sissy can sleep in, sense yknow. She's pregnant. Oh my that means we're gonna be aunts! Oh! What if she names a kit after one of us? Or something like that....anyways! Can yu go get Big sissy...I...totally didn't forget to do my streches because I was super duper excited!" Daisypaw let a bit of guilt seep into her tone, the apprentice had been down for a while, her new position of Caretaker taking a tole on her. But now that she had some sissy time she was rambling off as usual. Though.. it seemed as Willow sissy matured she rambled a bit less. Though she still had her moments...especially when with Papa Stag! Daisypaw would surely bother Papa before the girls went out!

Berryshine nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard someone suddenly yelling her name — but relaxed a moment later, the squeak of surprise turning into an amused purr. It was just Daisypaw, more excited than usual. The medic was almost going to ask what could've made her so hyped up, but then her next words reminded her; ah, yes, she'd agreed to have a "girls' day" with her adoptive family. That sounded like good fun right now, and a good distraction — the day was bright and warmer than usual, with newleaf on its way.

"Oh, yes... how could I forget?" The medicine cat rose to her paws, her bright green gaze soft as she looked over the younger cat. Daisypaw's energy and spirit always inspired her and made her smile. "Thankfully, I'm not busy at the moment."

Berryshine then waited as Daisypaw went on one of her usual tangents, chuckling here or there and nodding; yes, the prospect of being an 'aunt' — even if not by blood — was a wonderful one, and filled her heart with joy.

She was just about to say something when Daisypaw's last sentence made the herbalist give her a stern (but loving) look. "Ohh, Daisy... y-you know you shouldn't be going anywhere without doing your stretches first!" She playfully flicked her sister's gray shoulder, glancing towards the nursery. "You stay here then, a-and get those done. I'll go get Willowtail."

Brushing her skinny tail tip along Daisypaw's back as an affectionate gesture, the medicine cat then padded her way over to the nursery. "Willowtail?" She called out, mindful of her volume due to the other queens and kits. "I-It's Berryshine... if you're up for it, Daisypaw's dying to have t-that girls' day now." The fondness was clear in her tone, whiskers twitching with endeared amusement.

Daisypaw gave a shameful dip of her head. "Sorry sis.." she mewed gently. Seeing the stern yet loving look Daisypaw watched Berryshine agree to go wake Willowtail. Starting her streches she yawned.
Willowtail lifted her head. Bright blue eyes locking onto Berryshine. "Berry? Oh..yes I almost forgot. Though don't tell Daisypaw that" Willowtail purred softly. The pregnant queen stood. Stretching softly with a little groan. "Owww- wowwow!" She said weirdly. Shaking out her pelt with an embarssed twitch of her ears. "So then. " Willowtail mewed. Walking out and touching her nose to Berryshines ear in a greeting. "What will this girl's day consist of. Hunting? Running and jumping? Things I can't do" Willowtail joked, though her words had a bit of meaning, being the usually hyper shecat she was. Willowtail had loved pregnancy but dreaded not moving lots as she got closer to kitting

Berryshine smiled at Willowtail, chuckling faintly at the comment to not tell Daisypaw. But then her eyes softened with concern, the strange noise that her sister made making a pang of concern lance through her. Immediately the medic had stepped closer, paws itching as if ready to reach out and catch the fellow small-framed she-cat.

But she'd quickly shaken it off and changed the topic. Berry twitched her ears, though the worry remained in her face as she looked Willowtail over. "I suppose we'll see w-what Daisypaw might want to do... within reason," she added, glancing purposefully at her sister's rounded belly. The pained noise she'd made still rung in the medic's ears. As they walked together, she frowned slightly in thought. "Are you sure you're alright to go? It's g-getting quite close to your kitting... maybe we should stay in camp today instead?" Her tone was soft to keep it lighthearted, though the hint of concern lingered in it. Natural to a medicine cat and loved one, after all.

Willowtail looked at Berryshine. Seeing the gentlness in her eyes, "I think I can go. Just not to far from camp" Willowtail purred softlt. "I think I'm due to kit any day now so we might have to make it a short walk." Willowtsil mewed thoughtfully. "There real kicked though. I got scared the other night, they were kicking and it pushed on my bladder. I was close to coming to see you but then Softshade confirmen it was just my bladder" Willowtail mewed. "Though I dont think I'll ever get over my habit of putting my tail over my belly" Willowtsil blabbing on softly. Her tone motherly as she mewed.."Berry, I'd it...bad that I'm a bit hesitant to let Daisy...near them..It's not that I dont trust her and I surely love her. I just feel like she'll be to..." the queen paused, not knowing how to say it. "Hyper? Jumped? I dunno. Maybe its my instinctively kicking in. Perhaps I'll have to remind her to be gentle"

Berryshine nodded, part of her reluctant; then again, a walk might do Willowtail some good. Exercise was healthy for queens, after all, and a short walk should be no harm?

She listened intently, however, as Willowtail went on about the kits pressing on her bladder. She hummed sympathetically, nodding along to the story; it was hard to imagine for the medic how that might feel, to have several bundles of life squirming around inside of you. Even as a medicine cat, she had to imagine it was unnerving to feel all these jolts and pains and pressures without knowing what might be fine and what might be bad...

"Ah, I-I'm glad the other queens are there to help you. I know about birthing, but a lot of those other things... I'm not quite familiar with," Berry admitted with a chuckle. There was a difference between the knowledge of being able to deliver kits... and how to carry them. And the medic certainly lacked the latter.

At that last part, though, Berryshine's eyes softened in understanding. She slowed down their walk over to Daisypaw so the younger sister wouldn't hear, touching her nose briefly to Willowtail's shoulder.

"I don't think that's bad, Willowtail... i-it's motherly instinct, if anything. You just want to protect your kits, a-and you know how rambunctious Daisypaw can get... e-even when I tell her to take it easy," she added fondly with an amused twitch of her whiskers. "But yes, I'll make sure to emphasize that she needs to be careful, a-and gentle... those first few moons are fragile for little kits. I'm sure she'll understand."

Willowtail purred her thanks to Berryshine. Her long tail briefly twining with Berryshines as they approached Daisypaw. A loud thump and small. "Owie ow ow ow! Stupid strech making me fall!" The unmistakable sound of Daisypaw

Berryshine purred back, letting her tail twine with her sister's, before the unmistakable cry of Daisypaw snapped her back to the present. She chuckled, giving Willowtail a wry look that basically said 'yup, that's her'. Padding over, Berryshine gently touched her nose to Daisypaw's shoulder, assessing the younger she-cat for any actual injuries; she got hurt so easily, and Berry wanted to be sure that there wasn't anything she'd pulled before they took their walk.

"Hey, you're still taking it easy, right? W-We don't need any more pulled muscles," the medicine cat hummed, her tone that soft sternness that often accompanied her whenever she spoke to Daisypaw: soft in her caring love and usual timidity, but stern in the way she knew she had to correct her younger sister. "Willowtail's here now. You ready to get going? Or do you need to rest for a moment?" She was always better safe than sorry when it came to Daisypaw's condition.

Daisypaw shook out her pelt and purred softly at Berryshine. "Im fineeee! No pulled muscles over here! Though sore is a different story" the little grey shecat purred cheekily. "Hey sis!" Daisypaw purred to Willowtail. Nodding that she didn't need to rest and was ready to take there fun walk.
Willowtail purred softly in greeting. Though it secretly made her heart hurt in longing for Daisypaws kit days. It was just "sis" now. No "big sissy and sissy" Just there names or sis. Gosh Daisypaw was growing up! Willowtail affectionately nudged Daisypaw out the door as she stalled to tease Willowtail. "Come on, hurry up and walk before my kits get mad at me" Willowtail meowed. Rolling her eyes at Daisypaws fake laugh. Willowtail turned back to look for Berryshine, knowing she'd follow but Willowtail still liked waiting. Willowtail looked uo. The sun gemtly bearing into her fur as she inhaled softly, "Daisypaw, why did you of all cats want to come on a walk" Willowtail asked, at the question Willowtails blue gaze narrowed. Daisypaw suddenly lost her hyperness and tensed up. "Just...wanted to spend time with you guys" Daisypaw mewed. Willowtail kept her blue eyes narrowed into suspicious slits as she hummed in acknowledgment. "I see" Daisypaw seemed to relax as the questions died down. Willowtail glanced at Berryshine, hoping she wasn't crazy as she though Daosypaw was up to something.

Berryshine had watched fondly as her adoptive sisters greeted each other and bantered, though the last few sentences caught her attention. Willowtail seemed awfully suspicious of her sister. Why was that, Berry wondered? Certainly Daisy would have no ulterior motive... well, she was a prankster, so there was always that to look out for. But to the medicine cat, she mostly assumed it was all just sisterly bonding, which they could all use. She gave Willowtail a shrug, as if acknowledging that she'd noticed, but not adding anything herself. Daisypaw's response had piqued her interest, however, so she'd keep an eye on her.

Deciding to keep quiet, the medic gave her sisters an easy smile and nod, following them out into the territory. It was a nice newleaf day, a fresh breeze carrying the scents of new growth and thaws in the air, as well as some distant rain. Her green eyes peered up through the trees, appreciating the fluffy white-and-gray clouds that floated in the blue expanse.

"Mm... i-it's been awhile since it was just the three of us, hm?" Berryshine mused, her voice a bit lighter from the fresh air and chance to take a leisurely stroll. It wasn't often that the medic got to just... roam outside, given her duties and lack of fighting experience. And the company was nice. She gave both of them a glance and a smile, hoping to see that they were enjoying it already. It'd be a slow pace, no doubt, to accommodate both to Daisypaw's limps and Willowtail's very-pregnant self. But Berryshine didn't mind it at all.
