SPIDERPAW
Riverclan Apprentice | 7 moons | Lanky, amber eyed, blue-grey tabby she-cat with white paws, chin, and tail tip.

Spiderpaw was starving as she brought her catch of a couple fish to the elders. She was proud of being able to fish effectively, now. It was an exciting development, for sure. She had worked hard to get so much training in just about a moon. A moon and a half? She wasn't sure... but she was almost done. Almost there. Still a little young, but she figured her training would just be additional parts that she wanted to learn until she was old enough to get her warrior name.
The young molly padded back to the fresh kill pile to finally, finally get herself something. And, as luck would have it, her favorite prey was right there on top! A vole. She purred to herself as she plucked the small rodent from the top and sat to enjoy it.

A small brown nose appeared in the light - his own, as he crept his way out of the apprentice den with a big yawn. Blink blink. Their eyes were still adjusting to the light. It was nice out today. That made them... Happy! And, it wasn't too late. They'd slept past the morning patrols for sure. They were starting to wish that their mentor was actually around, if only to wake them up earlier. They had no idea how cats woke up to the first light of morning, their brain was almost certainly shut off at that point. Well, at least they were up and about. Progress was progress.
Food was the next step. They padded up to the kill pile, shoulders slumped with sleepiness, and grabbed a nice looking minnow. That'd do for now. Maybe they could pester some warrior into taking them on a hunt later, so they could make up for it. His eyes wandered the clearing as he searched for somewhere to sit. Another apprentice was eating nearby. Spiderpaw, he thought? They made their way over, and sat next to her. "Spiderpaw, is it? How're you doing?" They greeted her with an aloof smile. It must new newleaf, but they were feeling good today.
[thank u for doing the starter !! I got caught up cleaning haha]

Maybe it was the recent events. Maybe it was just her slowly maturing. When the other apprentice approached, she didn't immediately feel the need to run away and hide. There were scarier things than a clanmate, she supposed. It didn't stop the nervous twitch of her tail, though. She was pretty sure that she'd seen them around before. Seapaw, right? "Yeah... Good morning... Seapaw...?" She had definitely turned that into a question, making sure that she got it right.
"I'm okay... How are you?" The tabby asked him. It was always a strange feeling when someone she didn't know joined her to eat. She supposed there was no other way for her to meet others than for one of them to talk, really. It just... wasn't her specialty. She already felt like Seapaw was going to walk away feeling like she was too quiet... or that she talked too much. Wait, what if the "how are you" was just casual greeting and they didn't actually want to talk? Oh, stars. There really was no getting this socializing thing right.

She spoke a little slow, which was nice, actually. They took a bite of their minnow as she spoke, almost instantly getting a little lost in thought about rivers and swimming, and fishing. Just quite not enough to miss her words. "I'm pretty good!" They smiled, taking another bite. Mmm. Hopefully they could go fishing again soon. What was it again? Wait by the water, see a shadow, or... Some bubbles, or colour, or movement, then, strike! With a kind of cupping or spearing moment. Yea, that was it! Oh - Conversation! Yes, they were having a conversation weren't they.
Hopefully, the long pause was covered by the fact that they were eating. It made enough sense. They weren't all too bothered though. "How's your training? Been fishing yet?" They asked calmly, as the sun peeked out from behind a couple clouds, and shone right on them. Ah, that was nice. Good job they weren't in a shady spot, or he'd be dissapointed.

Where had she seen them before? Spiderpaw was quite sure that she had seen Seapaw somewhere before... She chewed on her bite of food as they answered. The other apprentice was doing good. He didn't seem bothered by her replying, but it did get quiet for a moment longer than it normally would have. Or maybe their mouth was just full? Was she supposed to think of something for conversation?
As her mind scrambled for a topic, it turned out that she didn't need to worry about it. Seapaw spoke up again... A flicker of her passionate self showed for just a moment. "It's going well..." She mewed. How far had she come in such a short while. The older cat beside her probably had way more done. "I've gone hunting, done battle and some advanced fighting, swimming..." Swimming. That hadn't gone well. She shivered, but took a bite of her vole to make an excuse not to look at Seapaw.
Fishing, though. She could talk about fishing! "I have gone fishing," She said. She smiled at that thought. Anything that had to do with hunting... now that was something she loved. "Eaglewing... When she called up the clan for some training for it. She showed me how." She didn't mind Eaglewing. The warrior seemed pretty nice.
