She walked slowly forward and attacked an unexpecting mouse.

We got you this time momma!" Snowpaw meowed. "Well, I always have back up! LEAFWISH!" Leafwish bowled both apprentices off of Heartsong, laughing.

"And how could you do that?" Stormpaw challenged.

"I've been watching people trying to harm Spottedpaw. And I've noticed how much you care about her."

Stormpaw froze.

"I won't harm her. I know what you're thinking. I want to help you so you can protect her."

Stormpaw looked at him. "Really?"

"Really." Maplefur nodded. "But you can't tell anyone. Nobody can know about this."

Stormpaw nodded.

"Good. We will start training tomorrow." Maplefur started to fade.

"When you fall asleep. I will be there in your dreams." He faded completely.

"It was just one." She meowed, obviously lying. First clue, her voice was extremely scratchy. Second, she could hardly breath and you could hear her wheezing slightly.

"Don't lie to me." He said. He looked outside the cave. "Its getting dark. I'll look for something in the morning."

"I'm fine!" Spottedpaw protested, coughing right after.

When Stormpaw opened his eyes, he was in the dark forest.

Maplefur was already there waiting, something in his mouth. He put them down to speak. "Stormpaw." He pushed the objects toward him. "This is catmint. When you wake up there is some not too far from your cave. This will help Spottedpaw get better."

Stormpaw looked at the catmint and nodded.

Maplefur smiled. "Good. Now let's get to your training."

Maplefur started attacking Stormpaw, claws unsheathed.

Stormpaw was barely dodging and avoiding until he eventually got clawed in his side and cheek.

"You must be able to see what your opponent is doing and counter attack." Maplefur said.

Stormpaw nodded and the two went at it again and again with occasional pauses so Maplefur could give Stormpaw a word of advice.

By the end, Stormpaw was able to dodge his attacks faster, but was still too slow to get in a counter attack.

"Don't worry." Maplefur said. "I've had more experience than you have. You'll learn. Just be patient."

Stormpaw nodded and wiped some blood off his cheek.

"You've impressed me this time." Maplefur said as he faded away. "And don't forget the catmint."

"I won't." He called and once Maplefur was completely gone, Stormpaw felt his eyes get heavy and they closed.

Stormpaw winced as he searched, his cheek hurt. Putting a paw to it, he saw some blood. That was weird, he didn't do anything to his cheek. Though the fight with Maplefur did come to mind, but that was just a dream. He continued to search until he found some. He took a few and ran back to the cave.
