Honeypool and Fallenstream are out in the territory enjoying each other's company and doing warrior duties. Honeypool is being a little stubborn to the idea of moving into the nursery now and leave warrior duties to others, like her mate keeps arguing with her about for a while ever since it's been discovered she's pregnant with his kits. Her belly isn't swollen yet and she can move just as well as any warrior, so doesn't see why she needs to yet. So instead of having endless days of arguing, Fallenstream accompanies his mate so she and their kits don't get hurt.

While Fallenstream and Honeypool go out in border patrol despite words of disapproval by the deputy, which seem to be routine now. Honeypool steps away from him to try hunting while they are out. She focuses on a water shrew and chases it around a more open area with less trees and catches it with ease. Fallenstream notices how far away she is now and calls her back and she slowly makes her way back to him. She doesn't get too close to him when she suddenly yowls in surprise as she gets ripped up from the ground and being carried by something. She calls for Fallenstream as she struggles to get away. He is already dashing towards the source of the shrieking and snarls at the sight. A twoleg grabbed Honeypool and is taking her away. He scratches and bites at the twolegs but is forced to keep dodging getting grabbed as well by another Twoleg. He is able to get away from the twoleg by climbing a tall nearby tree and the one chasing him walks away. Fallenstream is so busy not getting caught himself, he almost forgets about Honeypool until he hears her again making final attempts to get free and call for her mate as she gets thrown into a monster and the horrible creature starts to roll away. He tries to chase after the monster, but is unable to outrun it as it makes it's getaway on the Thunderpath, leaving a distraught tom in the forest, who had just lost his mate and kits at once. He sadly goes back to camp to report the incident.

The golden queen-to-be awakens to find herself in a cutter's nest with other cats. Most cats there had that kittypet smell that was nauseating to a forest cat. Shortly after, she gets taken to a twoleg nest and meets [Kittypet], a cat who teases Honeypool a lot, but means well and after some time, they become friends. Honeypool can tell how much they enjoy their twolegs' company and the safe shelter, but Honeypool does not like it all. Honeypool reveals to her that she is currently pregnant and [Kittypet] tells her the fate of litters with twolegs, the creatures taking their kits when they aren't even a moon old. She is desperate, which [Kittypet] doesn't understand why she would want to give up an easy life of warm shelter to sleep and not having to worry about starving out in the forest. Honeypool's mind remains adamant on her plan to escape to find her way back to her mate. [Kittypet] still doesn't understand, but they decide that they'll help her leave the twoleg nest. They push open a window open for her and they exchange heartfelt goodbyes. Honeypool was only there for a few weeks, but she will still miss [Kittypet] and thanks them for their help as she dashes away towards the forest.

The easy part of escaping the nest is over. The hard part, getting back to RiverClan in one piece before she gives birth. Why is it so hard? Because there is so many hostile cats and predators in the forest and her belly has gotten larger, affecting how fast she walks and runs and will only keep getting difficult as it gets closer to the due date.

Not long after she enters the forest, she is already getting chased by a territorial badger and runs into an abandoned twoleg shelter to hide and regain her stamina. She soon drifts off to sleep , however, and wakes up to two loner cats in her face. She scrambles up, getting ready to run from potential hostility, but instead prey is dropped at her paws. [Loner 1] and [Loner 2] introduce themselves and saw her getting chased and noticed her belly when she slept and brought her food, the two couldn't possibly imagine how exhausting it is trying to survive with a belly full of kits. She tells them that she is making her way back to a clan and explains why she is in this situation. The loners offer the shelter to her until she finds it fit to leave. It is raining out so she stays an extra day with the loners. She says her farewells before continuing on her way.

A week passes by and her movement slows even more. She is forced to so many stops to rest her body. She is too plump to catch fast prey but she still attempts to a lot, delaying time even more. She runs into [Hostile Cat]. They harass and attempt to attack the future mother. She runs away and miraculously is able to get away, which is good news. The bad news isthem that the chase forced her to backtrack to avoid anymore confrontations from them. She backtracks a lot when predators pursue her to. She starts to develop some minor scratches from barely escaping death.

She takes shelter under a tree and is discovered by [Outsider]. She is startled and almost runs off, but the cat eases her anxiety and introduces themself and notices her big belly and asks what she is doing. She tells them about her being a warrior and trying to get back to her clan before she gives birth. [Outsider] gives her a puzzled look. Clan? Warrior? They lead her to the den they've been living in for a while and goes out to hunt for the cat and they eat and asks Honeypool to talk more about the clans. [Outsider] and Honeypool lose time for a few days as the cat goes out to care for the plump molly in exchange for stories of clan life that has fascinated this cat who was alien to the term. Honeypool now feels she is now ready to get up and continue her journey. However she is stopped by a contemplative [Outsider]. They decide that they want to see Clan life themselves and will help Honeypool by protecting her and giving her food if she promises to take her to her clan to live with her. Honeypool agrees to this deal and the two friends continue their way, chatting with each other as if they knew each other since they were kits. Honeypool never felt like this to any cat before. She genuinely enjoyed their company and couldn't wait to see them as a warrior, wondering what their warrior name would be.

Honeypool and [Outsider] get confronted by a fox who has sights on the plump she-cat. They run away, but Honeypool is no longer in a condition to outrun her enemies. [Outsider] notices this, turns around and attacks the fox. Honeypool is astonished by this sudden act of bravery and stops, trying to call [Outsider] back. The fox gives the cat nasty blows but finally retreats when [Outsider] slashes at the vixen's eyes and it runs away, screeching in pain. Honeypool runs to [Outsider] who has collapsed on the ground and is breathing heavily, blood oozing out of the gashes in their body. Honeypool tells them to hold on and she'll try to find something to stop the bleeding. However [Outsider] stops her by placing their paw on hers and asks her if they fought as bravely as a warrior would. Honeypool gives a sad smile, holding back tears, and tells them they fought like all of LionClan. They give a weak smile in satisfaction to the answer and they fade out of consciousness, their paw slowly falling down. Honeypool is grief stricken by how much this cat did so she may live. Honeypool realizes time is now ticking, but she spends a good chunk of that time giving [Outsider] a vigil and burial in the morning.

Honeypool is able to catch very little dangers afterward and is overjoyed as the scent of all the clans become more and more close. Her belly is fully swollen by now and birth is possible in the near future. Honeypool fears she may not make it to RiverClan in time for the birth, so she tries to hurry with her slowed and careful pace. A week or so more of travelling and getting closer to the clans, Honeypool realizes a crucial thing. How will she get into RiverClan? Her belly is so heavy, it might weigh her down while swimming and she could possibly drown. But if she doesn't get in RiverClan and gives birth out of the territory, she might risk one of the kits' lives and they might die. What is a queen to do? She takes the night to sleep about the decision she needs to make.

She dreams and sees five kittens, all either having Fallenstream's or hers or a mix of the two. She smiles and thinks to herself on how they are all as wonderful as their father. She sees the kits playing with each other in the clan. Except.... this isn't RiverClan camp. It is more spacious and has little trees. Honeypool realizes this is supposed to be the WindClan camp, not RiverClan's! She wakes up afterwards and sniffs around the clans. WindClan is the closest clan in Honeypool's current location. She now knows what she can do for her kits.

She stands in the WindClan territory, waiting for a border patrol to find her. She is spotted by a patrol of four cats and is asked by [WindClan Patrol Cat 1] for her purpose in being on WindClan territory. She states that she is Honeypool of RiverClan and is mates with Fallenstream. She has been taken by twolegs and has made her escape to prevent her kits from getting taken from her and has been making her way back. She is too slow and too close to giving birth to complete her journey back to RiverClan and WindClan was the closest clan. She wants her kits to be born safe and asks if she may stay in the WindClan's nursery until it's safe for her to take her family back to RiverClan. All of the cats except [WindClan Patrol Cat 3] take sympathy on the queen and after some quick persuading, they all help her back to camp and immediately take her to Blazingdtar to decide her and her kits' fate.

The patrol cats call for Blazingstar and tell him of the RiverClan cat's business in WindClan. He invites Honeypool into his den to speak privately. He was aware of her absence because of RiverClan announcing it. She begs the WindClan leader to let her give birth in the WindClan nursery, fearing for her kits' safety if she gives birth out in the forest by herself. Blazingstar contemplates for a moment, but eventually gives his consent to let her stay. Not only does he not want to turn away a queen who is due fairly soon, he knows he will expect backlash from RiverClan for rejecting the deputy's mate, especially if the kits die because of it. WindClan has enough quarreling with ThunderClan already. He asks if giving her until next Gathering would be enough and she agrees that it is enough time. She thanks him and wish she could do something to express her gratitude and the two leave the den and Blazingstar makes an announcement to the clan that they are allowing a RiverClan queen stay with them for a while. There is a mix of emotions in the crowd. Disapproval. Curiosity. Welcoming. [WindClan Queen 1] comes up to Honeypool and plucks her from the crowd of curious cats and says she'll help her settle in. Honeypool dips her head in thanks and follows the queen to the nursery. [WindClan Queen 1] and Honeypool become fast friends.

Friendly cats come into the nursery, offering her food and water. One cat in particular tries to communicate and assist her, a cat Honeypool almost forgot was in the clan, was Fireflare, her old flame (haha get it). She often expresses her gratitude to those who help her around, but whenever Fireflare tries to, her reactions are often cold. No cat understands why she is so cold to him, because no cats except Fireflare, Honeypool and Fallenstream knew about the forbidden affair. All cats are curious and want to know how she got so far with a belly full of kits. There are cats in the clan who don't like having a fish-breathed she-cat birthing more fish-breathed kits in their clan, some are quiet jeerers and talk about her on the side, others are very vocal and aren't afraid to express their loathing to her face. Whenever this happens, Honeypool does her best to shirk away while [WindClan Queen 1] and others are usually there, ready to defend her. [WindClan Queen 2] doesn't appreciate Honeypool's presence and makes sure to be as pesty as possible aboutit, complaining almost all the time. Her days in WindClan aren't always peaceful due to some backlash.

When she isn't talking to [WindClan Queen 1] and the other queens and kits of the nursery, she is near the entrance, looking out the direction of where RiverClan is. Where Fallenstream is. She worries for him and apologizes that he could be at her side when the kits come.

Fallenstream, while Honeypool has been missing, has been having difficulty performing his duties, the scene where Honeypool screaming his name while getting swallowed by the monster keeps replaying inside his mind, thinking of ways he could have used to prevent it. He should've kept her closer. He should've convinced her to move into the nursery. He should've never let her leave camp. All of these should'ves plague his mind. He tries to stay in the company of his family and friends, who try to comfort him over his loss, but the tom cannot be comforted. First, he lost Lightstream, another cat dear to him. Now, his mate Honeypool and their kits are gone as well. Why has StarClan forsaken him? Everytime he is granted the opportunity of happiness, that source of gratification gets plucked away from him, leaving him distraught and feeling powerless. He talks to Russetstar about it, who is able to emphathize with him, remembering when he felt grief stricken as well when Shellfeather was gone. He assures that wherever she is, she is missing and worrying about him, and would want him to be strong for her and her clan.

Three cats coming back from patrol bringing [WindClan Messenger] up to Russetstar and Fallenstream to tell them news. They tell the two Honeypool has been found and is being taken care of in WindClan, due to being too close to travel to RiverClan in time. Fallenstream is obviously overjoyed by this news and almost wants to follow [WindClan Messenger] back to their clan and see his mate and his kits. Russetstar is against it, saying he needs to be here for his clan. Fallenstream argues with the leader, desperate to see if his mate is alright and to be by her side while she is kitting. He eventually loses the argument, not being allowed to cross into WindClan's camp. Before being escorted back out the territory, [WindClan Messenger] states that she'll come back with RiverClan at the next gathering and tells Fallenstream they'll make sure to take good care of Honeypool. Fallenstream is upset with Russetstar not allowing him to see his family, but he is able to perform his duties with a clearer head knowing Honeypool and their kits are well

The day comes and Honeypool's kits are delivered perfectly, with help of the moral support of the other queens and kits, who were all anxiously waiting for their arrival. She knew she saw all of her kits in her dream that told her to shelter in WindClan, but seeing them in real life felt so much more magical. All at once, tears were released from her eyes. Tears for her kits. Tears for the harrowing journey she was forced to make after being captured by twolegs. Tears for the kindness of other cats. Tears for the death of [Outsider] who forfeited their life so six can live on. All of those emotions that never awakened at the moment, now erupt from her face. The cats of the nursery ask if Honeypool has thought of names for them all yet. She thinks for a moment and almost names them before stopping herself and stating they shall remain nameless until they can be seen by their father. Some cats c ock their heads at the idea of waiting for the kit's name, but leave it alone. The kits are quickly able to open their eyes and wander around and talk. Honeypool tries to keep the kits as close to her as possible and feeds them stories of her escape from twolegs and her journey. Even the other kits stayed around to hear. She would also tell them about RiverClan and who their father is, anxiously waiting for the Gathering to come.

When the Gathering occurs, she tries not to wake the other kits while taking hers with the rest of the clan going to thr Gathering. Some of the kits are excited to meet their father while others are upset that they have to leave their WindClan friends without much of a goodbye. She keeps her kits close to her in fear of losing them in the big crowd of cats by carrying a few in her maw, the rest on her back. When Fallenstream and his clan gets to the Seastones, he is welcomed by the sound of shrill voices calling his name. He dashes to the sound of the calls and find his mate in the company of bouncing kittens. The two pull each into a loving embrace, tears streaming from each other's faces as they both apologize for different things. After a long embrace, she finally shows off her kits to him and tells him she left them unnamed for them to name them together, giving the kits their individual and unique names there. The two remain inseperable for the rest of the Gathering. At the end of it, she says her thanks and goodbyes to her friends in WindClan and she and Fallenstream carry their kits home. Once they are officially home, the weeks following is nonstop tales of her time out of camp. The mates are able to get back into their old routine and may have different ways of raising their kits, but are still there for each other.
