Spiderpaw was confused as the sky above him started to get dark. Even though it was no longer night, the grey clouds overhead started to become a charcoal-like color and everything became covered in shadows. Eventually, rain would come pouring down like it often did in spring. Spiderpaw was smart and made his way into the apprentice's den before the rain starting coming down. He was often calmed by the sound of rain, but would never want to get rained on. He'd make a deep sigh as the rain started to get harder, and he'd feel rain drops start to plop on his head as the shelter he was in did not protect him enough. Hopefully this doesn't go on for too long... I really wanted to go see the river today... He glanced around the den, and his eyes stopped on a silver tabby across from him. His amber eyes quickly dashed away from them, hoping that he didn't get their attention. He was not in the mood to talk to another cat, especially after the amount of training he did that day.

{ Stream'Paw sat in the apprentice den, looking up at the sky as raindrops fell; the noise reminded him of the pattering paws of kits playing around in the nursery, and he sighed. Stream'Paw analysed the charcoal black clouds, cocking his head to the right and noticing that Spider'Paw was watching the clouds, too.

Stream'Paw made brief eye contact with the light-cream apprentice, standing to pad over with a smile. Sitting, Stream'Paw put their tail over the paws, and continued to look up to the ebony sky. It wasn't nighttime yet, or, it could be, but Stream'Paw wasn't sure- but, why was the sky so dark?

"Hello, Spider'Paw,"

He forced a smile as Streampaw came as laid down by him. He didn't know how to feel about having to interact with them, since he was already exhausted from the talking he had to do just a few hours prior, but he forced a smile towards the silver tabby. It's fine... I'll be fine...

" I'm doing... okay. I'm not a huge fan of these storms coming out of nowhere... How have you been? I don't think I ever talked to you before. "

{ Stream'Paw licked his paw, swiping it over his ear and smiling as Spider'Paw spoke. He nodded, sitting and stretching his back with a few cracks and pops, which didn't sound good, but Stream'Paw had been stuck in camp with the recent rain flooding certain parts of the territory and scaring away the prey.

"You're right, I'm not sure if we have,"
"Who's your mentor, again?"

Stream'Paw had recently been doing solo hunting with the permission of his mentor, Fawn'Bounce, but with all the rain and the widening of the stream, hunting nor training were easy.
Stream'Paw wished to hunt and train and spar, but she would have to wait for nature to take its course and heal before Stream'Paw could really do what they wanted. }

Another cat asking about my mentor? Geez, I blame my embarrassment on you, Oaksong. He decided to force his bitter feelings deep down as to not scare off Streampaw in case he accidently got aggressive.

" Oh, my first mentor was Oaksong. They just got too busy though and started to focus more on other things than my training. I don't blame them though, I am really not that interesting to work with. "

He did a small giggle, hoping that the last part was enough of a hint to Streampaw to stay away from him. I'm about to jump out of this den if I don't get one second of peace and quiet.

" Who is your mentor? Are they cool? "

{ Stream'Paw analysed Spider'Paw, not picking much up from the small tom-cat. He seemed to want leave the conversation, but wasn't really radiating anything else besides edgy emo vibes passive aggression. Stream'Paw shuffled back, making room for Spider'Paw to have his own space.

"My mentor's amazing! Her name is Fawn'Bounce and she's really good at teaching me how to hunt."
Pausing, Stream'Paw added;
"You could hunt with us sometime? I'm sure Fawn'Bounce wouldn't mind."

Stream'Paw didn't want to sound pushy or odd, but it was just a gentle reminder if Spider'Paw wanted to make up for any missed hunting sessions or such. Maybe Stream'Paw could even take Spider'Paw out of camp and show the light-cream tom how she hunted mice? Stream'Paw was very proud of their technique.

"Only if you want to, of course." }

He appreciated that Streampaw gave him a little space, and his heart got warmed by the small bit of respect that they had given Spiderpaw. As Streampaw continued to talk, Spiderpaw tilted his head, his fake smile falling into a blank expression. Hunting together? Spiderpaw had never had a hunting lesson before, so he was nervous on whether or not he would accept the request. He had also just started talking to Streampaw. Nonetheless, he nodded slowly.

"Uhm... Sure. Maybe."

(let me know if I'm going to fast! I've had a really weird time perspective lately to the point where I thought it had been a week when it had only been 3 days, so I can try to slow it down if you like! )

{ Stream'Paw chuckled nervously, shaking his head and looking back at the dark sky.

"You of course don't have too,"
"Just if you ever want to learn more, y'know? Just a training session."

She elaborated. It would probably be too soon to hunt as friends, but they could learn together as clan-mates.
They relaxed their posture, as they had been sitting quite firmly before. Stream'Paw wanted to show that he would always be open to talk or hunt or such, but he didn't and would never want to make any cat feel uncomfortable.

"Anyway, how has your day been?" }

"It's been... eventful. Well, more eventful than it usually is."

He looked over at Streampaw, suspicious as to why they were continuing to talk to them [to gather information to use against him? some sort of prank?], then continued talking.

"How about yours?"

[you are 100% fine. spiderpaw is just really emo cautious and it will probably take a while before he eventually gets comfortable around streampaw.]

{ Stream'Paw tilted his head, curious on what Spider'Paw meant by "eventful"
But, Stream'Paw shrugged as Spider'Paw dropped the topic and asked about his day instead. Squinting his eyes, Stream'Paw hummed, thinking back on her day.

"Hmm, my day's been average,"
the parts of the territory I usually hunt in are a little flooded from all this rain, though."

Stream'Paw sighed, but giggled when a raindrop fell on their head. He shook out his fur from the rain that had collected in it, and a few drops of water got everywhere. Stream'Paw looked apologetically at Spider'Paw, smiling nervously.
