This patrol needs to move along a little faster... where was that apprentice? Had Flamepaw just not followed them?? Does the apprentice not realize the stakes of this patrol? Whiskers twitching in annoyance Petalrot quickly marks the next spot on the border, keeping ShadowClan scent fresh. Luckily it didn't seem as though the fish had tried expanding their borders, so bug wasn't all that worried. Though there was the matter of Flamepaw not showing...

"Pearnose," bug calls to bug's patrol-mate "I don't want to waste much more time here, hopefully your apprentice is just trailing behind a little slowly. We'll try and track Flamepaw's scent on the way back, see if they even followed out of camp, but I won't spend longer than necessary here."

[ since this patrol is due on the 21st, we have 3 days left. if by the 20th flamepaw doesn't show up I will have petalrot escort the patrol back to camp <3 ]

Fla,epaw had accidentally fallen behind the warriors. When he caught up with them he sheepishly apologized for falling behind and then copied the warriors marking the border, as he had never been on a border patrol before. @chickadee @Neptune.

Pearnose finished up marking her own tree, then moved onto another to keep the scent fresh. She watched as Flamepaw scrambled over and praised, “Good. That’s good Flamepaw.” She tried to praise him and make him feel good. That’s what you’re supposed to do, right?

She glanced over to Petalrot, then back to her own apprentice. “Alright. I think we’re ready to go back to camp.” She commented, flicking her tail.

Good, so Flamepaw managed to show up after all, huh? That's good. Watching the young tom mark the borders as Pearnose and bug had done, Petalrot offers a small, curt nod of approval. "Good, let's head back, then." That said, bug leads the way back to camp.

[ I'll go ahead and have Petal report in a moment o7 as nothing of note happened, there's no need for Pear or Flame to report as well if you don't want them to !!

Cloudheart led the way to the border. Shadowclan scent was strong but they were on their side. “Alright, i’ll head down this way… you guys wanna go that.. way and then meet back here? Call out if there’s.. any trouble.” He said

They really needed to pick up the pace on training, that was for sure. Each moon saw Cobs getting older and Dusklion was beginning to worry that at this rate, the she-cat would never get her name. One of the last borders they had to tour was ShadowClan's, and the head Lionheart figured they could turn it into a duel hunting lesson as well.

"Welcome to the border with the swamp toads," Dusk chuckled as they arrived, feeling the ground grow a bit squishy under paw. "That disgusting, vile scent? That's ShadowClan. Definitely no field of flowers, but musky enough you'll be able to recognize it." Looking at Cobs as they came to a stop, her gaze turned more serious. "Perhaps even more so than the thunder-rats, you always want to make sure to never cross this border. ShadowClan is known for their ruthlessness 'n they'll kill trespassers without a second thought. You chase a mouse 'n it goes over? Forget it, it's gone. Make sense?" Her tone was stern but there was a certain... intensity in her eyes as she waited to make sure her apprentice understood.

The border wasn't super stale but it could definitely use refreshing. "Go ahead 'n mark up that way, I'll do this area. Don't worry though, I'll keep you in my sights." Dusklion gave a brisk nod before starting to mark sections of the border, renewing RiverClan's scent.

cobwebpaw fidgeted, twitching her ear as she padded behind dusklion. she listened carefully, tilting her head and smiling. ' right. it makes sense. ' her stomach kind of hurt. she knew full well she was way behind on her training. she dipped her head and walked over to the border, wrinkling her nose. ' eugh!! they smell absolutely awful!! '

cobwebpaw marked the border and breathed through her mouth. it was so gross, good STARCLAN!! once she finished, she walked back over to dusklion, tail waving good-naturedly. ' are shadowclan really that scary? the ones i've met at gatherings have been.. mostly okay. not cold-blooded murderers. though, i haven't met dawnstar. ' she shrugged.

With the border now marked thoroughly and the scent refreshed, Dusklion returned to meet her apprentice where they had parted. "They're surprisingly tame as of late - which I'm sure has pleased the mighty Queen of Mean herself." She had been around long enough to get the impression that Dawnstar ran a tight ship. Lately it hadn't seemed like her Clan was being all that intimidating, but Dusklion still remembered when Falconfeather had been slaughtered. Granted, the herb-thief had deserved it but still.

"Gatherins' are a time of truce, 'n I think Dawnstar would have their hides if they started anythin' there. But make no mistake - they'll just as soon flay you as look at you. Sure, some of them might be fine, but a majority of 'em aren't. Cross that border 'n you won't live long enough to figure out who is which." The small dark tabby started to trot away from the border, watching as the sun started to sink below the tree-line.

A thought occurred to her then, something she could double with the hunting practice. "We can work on some battle trainin' around here, so long as we stay a good distance away from the border. Let's start with the basics; do you know what the front paw swipe is?" Part of Dusklion was worried, because of Cobs' leg. It would be an issue with battling if it didn't allow her to crouch down, and part of her wondered if it would be worth it to simply cut it off. But she'd hold onto such thoughts for now as she grinned towards the younger she-cat.

Tuskclaw crept along the border, carefully keeping on the ShadowClan side. Her head was low, and she was tired. Russetkit toddled after her. It had taken an alarming amount of time to find him after he scampered out of camp.

The large she-cat felt a little ashamed; she usually kept a close eye on her son. She wasn't sure how he'd managed to sneak out.

At least he's unharmed, she thought. That wasn't entirely true . . . he had a few cuts and scrapes from a few tumbles he took.

Now, Tuskclaw sat underneath a thin pine tree and waited for a ShadowClan patrol to come by. Russetkit curled up on her paws and fell instantly asleep. Hopefully someone would come by soon.

cobwebpaw shrugged. inter-clan drama wasn't something she enjoyed partaking in, as long as she and her loved ones cough cough stickpaw cough cough eaglepaw cough cough dusklion cough cough stayed safe, the other clans could do whatever the hell they wanted. she nodded, following after dusklion as she padded away from the border. the nervous feeling in her stomach subsided as they walked away.

' okay, yeah! i.. think i know..? ' cobwebpaw readied herself, sheathing her claws. unconsciously, she had had them out while by the border. softly, she batted at dusklion, performing a slightly but pretty okay front paw swipe. she grinned. ' did i do good? was that good? '
