There was a slight hesitation there. Tiny almost unnoticeable but Ankur was always good at minor details. Still she was showing him to her 'friends' anyway, how interesting. Smoothly jumping up to follow her he grumbled internally about having to fence walk. He could, but it was noticeable to someone looking that he wasn't the best nor enjoyed it. "So! Anything I should know before I meet them?" He asked following Dagger and making mental notes of the area so he could return later on his own accord.

(We probably dont have to rp the cats in the yard fully unless theres a cat of interest or Remi shows up. Just their answers to questions and what Dagger is doing/acting is all Ankur really cares about) @Shadeleaf

Dagger smirked quietly, seeing his struggle in walking on a fence. How persistent was this cat? Would he ask for help? She quickened her pace, switching to a spikier fence which made the route a bit longer.
"Nothing much. Pearl will be very kind and ask you a lot of questions. She likes talking. And Hero.... He's a bit weird and jumpy. I never knew why but I like him all the same." she replied, a calm expression plastered onto her face.

Oh gods above the gods or this cat hated him. MORE FENCES. Why do these things exist what in the world could twolegs use these for, its not like it really keeps anything out. Well grit your teeth and bear it he supposed making his wobbly way across the fence. Despite all his efforts though his speed was flagging and couldn't keep up with the faster and more practiced Dagger. As for what she said, all really what he expected her to say but for the second part. A personal connection to a cat beyond being just her pawn? This Hero was a cat he needed to interrogate. Ankur had expected cats Dagger is using as tools but the implication of one she has an emotional connection (however slight) to was huge and needed to be picked appart.
Reflecting on this, his mind racing Ankur lost focus and made a small slip on the spiky fence. Clunkily wobbling and scrabbling on the awkward surface there was a look of mild panic on his face before he was able to right himself. Taking a moment to gather his bearing (and balance) again the tom refused to face Dagger for a moment, ears pinking. A rather funny action all told, that was a rather interesting divergence to his smooth collected and perfect persona that he'd displayed thus far with Dagger.
@Shadeleaf (sorry no dialog but I hope theres enough material for you to use in his actions. I felt its a good display of his less refined side which he dislikes showing)

Dagger couldn't contain the small chuckle that rose up her throat. So, he was embarrassed. Looks like Mr. Perfect wasn't so perfect and chill and didn't like admitting it.
"Oops. You seem wobbly. You can walk on the ground if you want. Besides l, we're almost here." she said AI a sweet, sappy tone.

@Rani (BTW Dagger said she liked Hero but she meant as a friend and more importantly, she was lying. She doesn't care about him or anyone else)

Take the high road Ankur, take the high road. Still he couldn't stop himself from snapping back in a just as falsely sweet tone "How kind of you! Wow Dagger you really are such a sweet cat, no wonder you have so many friends. You're just a wonderful example of that old saying 'Be yourself and people will see and like you for who you are'" He smoothly moved to re orient himself and continue forward again, he might not be good at fences but he was nothing if not persistent.
"Im more quick a learner than you might expect so don't worry about me not keeping up." Ankur might not know if he wanted this cat to be his enemy or if he'd even ever have a reason to fight (physically or not) but he wouldn't let this she cat kid herself that Ankur wasn't a force to be reckoned with himself. And besides the tinge to his pride and his paranoia about her motives it was rare to meet a cat on par with his intelligence, gods knows he kinda missed it.

Dagger was taken aback by his aggressive reaction. The words were kind but they were laced with sarcasm. So, Mr Polite had a temper. Good to know. Dagger didn't get angry. At least, she never showed it. This had given her the confirmation that he did in fact see through her manipulative nature, or at least the first layer of it.
She jumped down from the fence into the yard next door. All the usual cats were there. Pearl was laying on her belly and the twins were curled up into a ball, napping away. Hero was laying beneath the lawnchair.
"Hai!! So good to see you all. It's been a while! I brought a friend." she meowed cheerfully.

Yeah, though maybe a bit later. I may have to ask Rani. Maybe Sydney and Remi could hang out in a different RP. I'm suggesting this since there's a bunch of NPCs and stuff here and this plot is a super delicate mind game between 2 evil geniuses and I need all my focus. Anyway, I could make a starter with Remi. Or he can just come visit.)
