"No, I don't think so," she replied looking down at the young kits her grey fur fluffed out in pride. She looked up at her mate and licked his chest fur, "Ya know, I didn't do all of the work! You helped me give birth!" she meowed as she curled her tail around the kits and fell asleep.

The white cough was in stable condition. Coyotesnarl had fed those four enough catmint they could be considered cows. That’s when he heard a voice, a cranky old voice that of an elder her assumed. His head perked up and ears flicked forward. Oddeyes. He recognized the scent before the voice and popped up onto his paws “stomach ache?” he paused briefly, running over the names of herbs he’d accumulated after a while. “You mean juniper berries? Is it for you?” he was kinder to the she cat as she was plenty moons older than him. Though still looked irritated she’d interrupted his staring at the wall session. He crossed the den to search through the herb store hoping to get lucky

“Where is she.” that was a dumb question.. probably in the nursery. Coyotesnarl stood and pushed past Boulderpaw into the clearing after tearing a chunk off moss from the wall. He’d regret that later. “Show me quick!”

Coyotesnarl stumbled into the den looking like a mess. His first kitting and he’d missed it... how pleasant. The Queen was already asleep and two kits nuzzled up to her belly. He glanced up at Boulderclaw shooting him an embarrassed expression which didn’t last long before he crept to her side quietly. He’d make sure the kittens were decent looking. Enough that he needn’t be worried. Once he was sure he gently pushed the wad of moss up against her nest and turned to leave

Coyotesnarl awoke from his sleep. It was a rather stormy night, he could hear the wind whip against anything that stood in its way. Including his den. The trendils hanging loosely from the arch of the rock wall rocked back and fourth and some eventually got swallowed up and whisked into the sky. His tail curled in annoyance. Rain came pouring in soaking the den floor instantly. He’d better move the makeshift family into his personal quarters. He wouldn’t be too happy if they got sick again.

Standing the tom crossed the den and gently shook oddear with a paw. “Oddear. Come now. The rains picked up and I don’t want the kittens getting wet” he murmured quietly pressing his nose to odds head than gently tapping Silentwhisper with his tail.

Boulderclaw stared down at his sleeping mate, watching their kits suckle. He turned to coyotesnarl, a glare present on his face, How dare you. Why were you late? What if something went wrong? She could have died because of you! he growled to the medicine cat.

Just as Coyotesnarl had turned to leave he was interrupted by a voice. An angry voice. He felt his fur begin to bristle along his spine. “What did you just say to me you incompétent worm?” the tabby spat spinning around. He wasn’t in any mood to be bothered today. Well he never actually was in a good enough mood to handle it. “Let me tell you something- I’ve been dealing with Whitecough for days. If I wasn’t here your kits would be sniffling and sneezing and eventually they would die taking your stupid blood line with it!” he cursed ears flattened to the back of his skull
