Introduction

Hello, hello ✿ Welcome to our annual Summer Contest for 2023! Staff are excited to be launching this writing contest to give everyone a chance to show off their wonderful writing expertise. There will be two categories, each with a different theme, and you can submit an entry for one or both of them! Feel free to interpret the prompt in any way you desire.

Please do not use pre-existing characters for the sake of anonymity. Only characters that have not been mentioned on WCO (including the Discord) or characters specifically made for the contest are allowed.

Themes

The first theme is for the Warriors universe category. It can take place in the universe of the Main Roleplay or Alternative Warriors Roleplay, during the past, present, or future.

For this category, please include either one or more of the following themes:

Beach, Popsicles, Heat, and Bugs

The second theme is for the humans or humanoid beings category. It can take place in a universe from the Non-Warriors Roleplay or a setting made up on the spot, during the past, present, or future.

For this category, please create an entry based on the phrase:

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time."

Submissions

Overall, your entry can utilize any form of literature — short stories, poems, haikus, lyrics, playwrights, letters, etc. — but should be your own, original work. Your work should not go over the 550 word limit.

When you have completed your piece, please make sure it is on Google Docs, and submit it by private messaging the link to your work to @Percival. Make sure that the sharing options allow anyone with the link to view. Include 'Summer Contest' in the title of your message.

Prizes

First place will receive 25,000 Koins, your choice of two purrks, a personal award and full-body art of a character of your choosing.

Second place will receive 15,000 Koins, your choice of one purrk, a personal award and chibi art of a character of your choosing.

Third place will receive 10,000 Koins, a personal award and headshot art of a character of your choosing.

Participants will receive 5,000 Koins and a participant award!

The deadline for both categories are June 22th at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Afterwards, a masterpost of every entry for each category will be posted anonymously for the WCO community to vote on. Voting will end on June 30th at 11:59pm Eastern Time. Results will be revealed on July 1st.
