With the tale of windclans temporary exile by coyotes done Crowtooth was kind of uncertain what to do with the fang. It was a gift from starclan, appearing from air itself when Crowtooth was uncertain of which tale to tell to help his clan. The gift had been a clear instruction, a coyote fang on a sort of make shift string as order to tell the history of windclans struggles and victory against the beast. But what now?

What was he to do with this gift now though? Crowtooth didnt really keep possessions like many did but to discard or just give away something from starclan? Well the tom was way too religious to ever do that.

With a raspy sigh the tom settled into his nest to sleep, tucking it in to his bedding. For all he'd died before and had this strange power that was obviously star given this was the first interaction he'd really had and he was unsure for it.

Maybe it was his musing over the topic that brought him into an odd dream that night.....

The story unraveled in a cloudier version of WindClan's territory. The grounds sparkled, but not too brightly. The grass swayed, but not too wildly. It was quiet, nothing but the soft chirping of crickets echoing. It was a representation of a peaceful time. A carefree time.

A time that Blazingstar wished could've stayed during his time as leader.

He set the mood and sat down. This would be the dream Crowtooth would come to. He didn't know this warrior and he certainly didn't know why it was him standing out this time. Nonetheless, Blazingstar sat and waited for him to arrive.

He would wait for however long it took.

Waking was.... Slow. Confusing.

Crowtooth had more connection then the average cat to starclan, he'd both died and resurrected and received a rare power few had. However both these gifts had come with silence. Whatever had happened in the moments of death were akin to a void to Crowtooth, absent to his recollection. And the power came with less instruction, the tom didnt even know he had it until after he'd lost his memory and understood it far later.

The tunneler had sort of got it, at least to the point where he didnt feel upset about the lack of contact even if there was loved ones he wished to speak to again. He was just a warrior, not leader or a medicine cat who had actual connection to the stars.

Which is why waking here was such confusion.
It was windclan.... But not the windclan that was now, more the windclan of his kithood before the moor burned. This place didnt exist anymore and the tom seemed stunned that upon looking at himself this wasnt a dream of the past, given he was in his 'current' body.

What- WHAT WAS THIS????
Looking around frantically hetrochromatic eyes landed on the once leader and, completely forgetting all usual reverence for starclan in his shock the tom just blurted "Did I die 'n my sleep or somethin' how am I here??? Oh stars oh no I can' go yet, I promised Twilightstar I wouldn' go before she did!"
Crowtooth would wish he was actually dead once he learned who he was being so 'impolite' to but that was for a couple minutes in the future.

The tabby would observe Crowtooth's reaction to the dream. It was always amusing when cats woke up to his dreams, they could wake up literally anywhere. In this case, these moors seemed to have a very. . . unique effect on the Tunneler. There was a series of emotions that would register in the leader's brain as he watched and the only thing that gave away his thoughts were the twitching of his whiskers.

The sudden outbursts from Crowtooth sent a hearty chuckle out of the former leaders' maw. "No, no. Calm yourself there, friend," Blazingstar beamed with half-closed eyes. A friendly gesture with a fluffed-up chest to match the stature.

"What type of StarClanner would I be if I caused you to break a promise?" Blazingstar teased lightly, adjusting his posture so it was more casual. "You're just here because I wanted a quick chat, that is all."

"I'm Blazingstar, former leader of WindClan."

The tom was slack-jawed for a good long minute, eyes bugging as he took in the tom as a sort of involuntary high pitched noise of shock emanated from Crowtooth. Eventually he somehow manage to beat his scattered brain back into order somehow, and promptly realized he was making a totally fool of himself in front of the old leader and was not showing the proper amount of respect he deemed necessary.

Cue another internal panic (though this one was much shorter then the first) and Crowtooth promptly face planted.
....Wait no this was a sort of bow grovel/attempt to melt into the celestial moor brain lagging as he tried to speak. Which resulted in some stuttering "'M SO SORRY SIR! I-I didn' think or realize an' didn' show ya proper respect an' 'm so sorry sir." Stupid bad Crowtooth he'd gonna smite you and youre gonna deserve it! Crowtooth, banned from starclan for being rude!

Finally he unburied his face (even if he was still trying to melt through the grass) a puzzled expression forming "Uh, ya wanna talk to me though? Like, not ta doubt ya an' yer wisdom sir but wouldnt like, Fallownose or Lightningstorm be a better option? Dunno what'd be worth talkin' ta me about." .....Unless Crowtooth had messed something up and now was in super trouble. Time for another internal panic.

There was a long moment there where Blazingstar was watching this warrior reboot. His golden eyes would blink rapidly a few times, also processing what he was witnessing. Did he. . . did he break this warrior? What was happening? There was nothing but confusion on the former leaders face until he was nearly startled back to reality. Crowtooth's voice made him jump back a little and he, once again, blinked rapidly to process.

"AHAHAH-" Blazingstar nervously laughed, not used to this type of praise, or was this worship? He wasn't sure how to address it at first. "Hold on, hold on!" The orange tabby began, raising a paw to try and stop him. His paw would land softly on Crowtooth's shoulder, patting him a couple times. "You're fine! I promise, I'm not mad. If anything, I'm surprised! Just surprised, that's all!!"

"In fact, you're the most interesting cat to greet me thus far! A great way to leave an impression on me! AHAH-" Blazingstar attempted reassuring the warrior, but he was never good at it. No. In fact, sometimes he swore he made it worse.

The next question got him thinking for a moment, but a smile would cross his face. It was a warm one that was probably more reassuring than his words could be. "I could be talking to them, but I'm not, right? I'm here to chat with you instead. Regardless of rank, your thoughts matter just as much to us, y'know." Blazingstar spoke, retracting his paw now and waving his tail in a friendly manner.

"Now, what say ya? Care to have a chat with me?" Blazingstar grinned. "Just a chat, I want updates on everything going on through the eyes of a warrior. Give me the gossip!"

Hey? Could you hear that? That, that little popping noise? Yeah that was the sound of Crowtooths ego popping abruptly and dying a brutal and quick death as Blazingstar himself LAUGHED AT HIM!


His promise to not die before Twilightstar was moot now, he was actively melting into the celestial starclan grass never to take the form of a proper cat again let him DIE HERE PLEASE HE DIDNT WANT TO EXIST ANYMORE!


Crowtooth had shifted to something less.... grovelly by now but did not have it in him to stand up again, humiliation demanding he not draw attention to himself any further after this blunder. So instead while he wiggled around to be more 'sprawled with his head on the ground' then 'trying to bury himself alive' and tried to kinda.... Understand the situation.


Blazingstar wanted the 'gossip'??? What did that even mean. Starclan could see the goings on of the clan so he probably knew about the minks and all that so what could he possibly want to know? "Uuuuhhh, sure boss? 'f thats what yer after I suppose."



This whole thing was just completely confusing but thinking was not going well for the tom so far so time to shut off the brain and just chat.
"So Lightningstorm 's gonna 'ave kittens soon, well not her but her mate. Dunno how they managed really but Firestorm 's insistent the kits are hers an' Ive learned ta not ask that one questions. 't always just confuses me.
Lightnin's been really stressed o' late so I hope this cheers 'er up some."
Idly the tom wondered if Blazingstar had talked to Twilightstar or Lightningstorm given the twos current view that starclan had abandoned them. If he hadnt he hoped he would, maybe it'd ease their worry.



"Uuuh... Swiftfire 's bein' a brat. Its frusteratin' 'cuz she's got good ideas but ruined it bein' belligerent so got snapped at 'cuz she mad cats mad. Now she's sulkin' like a kit and not 40 moons old, not my problem though."
She wasnt a real threat or problem, she was just annoying and needed to cool off and maybe then something could be worked out.


"Theres somethin' goin' on between Hawkfur an' Bravebird an' Im not sure 'f they think we dont see or 'f they just dont realize themself. They better get their butts in gear though 'cuz annoyin' watchin' them dance around clueless. I dont get 't personally, romance makes no sense ta me."
That was something the tom felt odd about, all his clanmates had something with romance but he'd never had one. He'd just never felt a spark and he felt like he was falling behind in that area. Maybe he should try and find love himself soon?



"Uuuh... 'f none o' that strikes yer fancy Ive got embarrassin' stupid stories about most o' the clan? Been stockpilin' blackmail fer a rainy day fer awhile."
Really Crowtooth wasnt sure what he was supposed to do here and was just trying to buy time to think so hopefully something was what Blazingstar was looking for.



Did.... Did the tunneler have right to ask questions too? He was pretty curious about some things like the leaders life but for now held off given the recent embarrassment. Maybe once the other tom was satisfied but the 'gossip'.

The expression that filled the former leader's face was similar to how an apprentice sees the territory for the first time. It was one filled with wonder and shock. He- Blazingstar- was going to be a great-grandfather!??! How'd he only just find out?! Firestorm didn't mention a word to him! He didn't watch the clan that closely!

He was able to catch some of the other words that Crowtooth mentioned. Something about an angry Swift-fiend cat. Who knew. Then another something about two warriors dancing around their emotions. Well, Blazingstar couldn't talk much on that. The former casanova tended to run away from his own emotions in the living world.

Blazingstar nearly bounded forward to embrace the warrior, but instead, he nearly did rabbit hops in place. "Well, my Stars! That's the best news I've gotten in a long time! Prairiespark will be overjoyed to hear the news too!" Blazingstar cheered like a kit. "I'm going to be a great-grandpa!" He purred loudly, his eyes gleaming as he studied Crowtooth's expressions. He wasn't sure if the warrior knew of he and Firestorm's relation, but he didn't elaborate on it to answer the question ahead of time. "And to a medicine cat!? It's a blessing!"

..... Yeah Crowtooth had no clue what he'd said that was so great but he'd done something right here. Blazingstar looked ecstatic and Crowtooth even felt better at making the star bound leader so happy after putting his paw in his mouth so soundly as so sat up some more.



No one if he could figure out what he'd done right then- oH DEAR GOD INCOMING HUG!!! Crowtooths eyes went wide, freezing in place as flight and fight threw hands with eachother to be the response then were promptly crushed as the toms mind screamed that neither punching the starclan cat nor running from him were appropriate. So unfortunately by the time the tom managed to get his mind to work there was no politely dodging from physical contact and Crowtooth was trapped.


It was.... very fluffy? Yeah that was the only way he could describe it, given he'd froze in place for the duration, mind caught between 'bad unwanted touch' and 'omg Blazingstar is hugging me'. At least he wasnt left to reel about it and was quickly released to experience more confusion.


Who in the world was Prariespark? What did he mean by great grandpa- WAIT NO! NO! IT COULDNT BE, NO!
The tunnelers mind just.... Broke inside his head and his jaw dropped. Sure they looked alike but there was just no way Blazingstar was Firestorms ancestor, Crowtooth refused to believe it! Goofy silly Miss sparky was Blazingstars descendant?!?!?!?!
"Yer..... Yer pullin' my leg, right? This 's some kinda prank an' yer gonna start laughin' when I have a heart attack 'cuz theres just no way. ....Say sike right now sir please."


But there was no sike and thus Crowtooth was going into shock, not really upset or disappointed more as he was fundamentally shaken. "She- Yer- I-" Words did not compute before he finally managed to squeak out a strangled "Congratulations sir?" Brain rebooting for yet another time this night.


Then a thought occurred "Wait a moment.... She didnt even tell ya? Didja even know she was moonin' over Lightnin' because I swear everyone saw that. 'ts like the Bravebird/Hawkfur thin' except Firestorm was loud as a rooster about 't. 'f she didnt tell ya about her crush at least I'll be grabbin' her by the ear fer that, at least the kitten thin' is kinda new still."
If you had an ancestor like Blazingstar even if you couldnt get into a dream with him you should at least send up a prayer to him with an update! ...Though that was probably faintly hypocritical given the tom had never sent up one to his mother Larkthroat who was no doubt around here somewhere.

A booming laugh escaped Blazingstar at the warrior's reaction to the news. He'd release Crowtooth from his fluffy grasps. Surely Firestorm would've gone around screaming about her new-found family! Perhaps it was still too new of news for her to go blabbering about to just anyone, though. Cats might get jealous, right? Still, the ginger tom was elated with the idea of tiny kits running about the clearing. He had to stop in and visit them occasionally, show them ol' gramps was still around and watching -- maybe even teach them how to cause some mayhem.

"Maybe she was just trying to test me, never know with that one. She's my kin after all. Gotta be spontaneous and exciting every day!" Blazingstar boasted, confirming any doubts Crowtooth might've had about their relationships. "Speaking of, keep an eye on her for me. I can't watch everyone every day. I try, but there's been a lot of dream walking lately, I can't keep up sometimes," the tom's voice was loud and friendly, echoing a similar tone Firestorm held within the clan. There was no questioning it now.

"Anyways, pal, I need to ask you before we run outta time," As their conversation drew on, his grammar was becoming more casual as if they were friends. Perhaps the could be? Just held within the dream realm instead. "Is there anything you need from me?" Honestly, this was the entire point of the dream, but Blazingstar couldn't help but dig for the drama of the living realm.
