We want to know what your character and you think !! In addition to this, OOC I need someone that I can rely on to communicate with me about issues they may be having IC or OOC that may affect their ability to fulfil the requirements of their rank.

There is no form - be creative !! Your application can take the form of anything as long as it is not a form. (Applications that appear to put forth the bare minimum of effort or are unfinished may not be considered - I want to assure that I have someone who is willing to put in the time and effort that is required of this rank. Applications are you and your characters first impression, put your best paw forward !! Please note that in most cases this is as simple as taking out the remaining WIP markers :3)
HR members are required to meet a quota of three fifty word or more post a week alongside participation in plots, handling IC and OOC HR duties, and fostering clan activity.
Mossfreckle is hoping to select an apprentice this time around, however, do not let this detour you from applying cats that are already a warrior. (Mossfreckle is currently 13 (14 the 24th) moons old - and may not be willing to select a feline older than him but will do what is best for the clan if they show promise or pique his interest)
Herbal knowledge does not equate a med position and I will not be taking such into consideration, please refrain from buying Herbal Knowledge purkks or seeking lessons simply in the pursuit of making your character appear more desirable.
(In addition, please remember that all herbal knowledge must be roleplayed to exist, a cat cannot simply know herbs because it is written into their backstory /lh )
Discord is preferred but is not required, if you do not have discord at the time you application that is a-okay but I may ask you upon selection if you would be willing to make an account as it is easier to communicate and plan privately there. (shout out to Kat for being my pm buddy for a while)
I know colours are a fun way to make your application pop but please refrain from using vivid or lightly coloured text - stick to brown, black, and visible dark tones as I am unable to read most text colours outside of such and it takes a lot of strain and effort to do so if not.

Why, of all cats, me?
Why? Why do I want Clover to be MCA? Well, be prepared for an essay lmao buckle in and grab your popcorn.
So MC/MCA has been one of the roles I have wanted the most, having 4 out of my 7 hr roles applied for. I really want this role, and I just so happened to have clover when applications were tossed up. I joined the site in March of 2021, and have been an active member since December 2022. In my time here, I have made many achievements that I am proud of.
I started the Alt SkyClan as leader. In my time with Webstar, I think the reason I needed to step down was because leader of such an important clan simply did not suit me. Since that, I have been rping Medicine cats in alt clans, and I have found that the role really suits me. I want to become a medicine cat because of the variety of jobs they handle, while also being a key role to a Clan. In the past, I have applied for an HR SIX TIMES [including this one]. Includes ThC deputy Applications x2, RiverClan Deputy, RiverClan Medicine cat x2, ShadowClan Medicine Cat, and then ShC Med cat again with Clover!
When I saw the med position open, I had a character In mind I wanted to make for the role. I spent a lot of time developing her character and molding it to the role, and It would mean so so much to me, and I can assure you Cloverkit would be a cat I would love as an hr, she is so fun to rp and I think she just fits the med role so much! I also love the med role, having it several times in ALT ROLEPLAYS, and I loved it a lot, so It would bring me a lot of joy to be selected as ShadowClan's medicine cat!
I know there are so many options and better applications than mine, but I really am in love with the idea of Clovermed. During my hiatus, I have been developing him quite a bit. At first, Clover would despise how she was chosen for such a boring role. She would do everything she can to try and get out. But soon, she starts to realize that he likes to heal. He likes making sure his clanmates are healthy, and realizes that the path of a medicine cat might just be the right one. During their rebellious time, they would not want to interact with Mossfreckle, but would still do their job, as they still have a sense of duty. Don't worry, Cloverkit will be quick to realize that medicine cat is the right path for them to take, and they won't reject being a healer for long.
I know the amount of effort and time needed for a medicine cat, and I feel like I can do it. I have tried so many times to get my dream role of a Medicine cat, and honestly, It hurts a bit every time that I'm not chosen. I love this role so much, and I would happily dedicate the majority of my WCO time to fulfilling these duties. Just because I am 12 and do not have discord does not mean I cannot communicate and dedicate time to the role. I like to think I communicate pretty well, and my heart just gets so happy when some people hype me up when I say I'm applying for a hr role. It makes me more confident, and I feel like I can do this. I will be turning 13 In August, so it will only be a couple of months before I can get discord, so I am 100% sure that Clover will still be around at that time [and hopefully as a mc ]
Now, I do respect your decision, and you choose who you think would fit the role. If that ends up being me, I will be ecstatic. If it is not me, I will be disappointed, but I will be happy for whoever is chosen.

Cloverkit becomes Cloverpaw, set on the path of a medicine cat. Mossfreckle has always been cool, but Clover does not want to become medicine cat. She has always aspired to be an almighty and powerful leader. Alas, StarClan had other plans for her. She was chosen as the Medicine Cat.

Q: Will Clover heal their enemies within the clan without spite? A: Probably not; Clover is not a fan of traitors and other clans. But he also hates seeing cats in pain, so she will do the bare minimum required before handing them off to their own medicine cat. If that happens to be clover, he would ask Mossfreckle for assistance
Q: Who is Clover's role model? A: All of the high ranks in ShadowClan! She most looks up to Dawnstar as well as Mistlewhisker, but he respects Lostspark knowing she was a former enforcer and Mossfreckle for his job of helping the clan stay healthy.
Q: What is their greatest desire? A: To become the leader of ShadowClan. If picked for medicine cat, they will slowly realize that healing is their true passion. So tech healing but will not be known unless picked for the role

It had been a couple of sunrises since Cloverpaw had been assigned the role of Medicine Cat. Sure, she hated it, but honestly, he liked it at the same time. Helping his clanmates brought him joy. Sadly, they haven't been taught many herbs yet. Cloverpaw turned their head as footsteps approached the young medic. He turned his head to greet his clanmate before spotting their limp. "Oh! You alright? Lemme look at that paw n' I'll see if i'll need to get mossy," they purred, trotting over to the older cat. They examined the paw, noticing a thorn lodged into it. Horray! Clover could help this cat! "Alrighty [insert cat's name], this is gonna hurt," Cloverpaw warned before grasping the thorn with his teeth. Gently, the apprentice pulled out the thorn from an angle before spitting it on the ground. "All done. Lemme wrap up yer paw n' you can get goin!" she said, bounding to the herb store. She picked out some marigold and cobwebs before bounding back to her paitent.

songs that either relate to her, she would enjoy, or that i am itching to use for an animatic. a lot of the them are representative of her rage, the feeling of injustice and her childhood trauma.

name meaning -
rook - her dark pelt and white markings but more importantly, her social nature. rooks are seldom seen alone and tend to also group up with other corvids like jackdaws which could represent both her need of connection, to be part of a group, and the fact that she sees any cat as fundamentally equal. to elaborate on the reasoning for that, she didnt have any family members growing up (not after coming to rc anyway) and adopted this mindset over the moons, every cat has the possibility of being a great cat, no matter their blood.
[ mink - the name given to her by her mother riversong, who knew mink was going to be raised a riverclan cat. like a mink, minkkit came to riverclan to be forever bound to rivers and streams, by name and habitat. minks are also commonly loners, just like minkkit was before joining riverclan and so very unlike rook. ]
but why the name change? minkpaw was riverclan, rookpaw is shadowclan. rook is determined to leave her riverclan past behind so leaving behind the name connected deeply with riverclan and their way of live was an easy decision. it could also be seen as the subconscious parting from her deceased mother who originally gave her that name. additionally, minkpaw had accepted the name merely because she knew no different, but chose to become rookpaw. she chose to seperate herself from what other cats, mainly her mother, wanted her to be in order to choose her own truth.

drip. cold. he was cold. minks eyes blurred, tears threatening to spill as the kit stared down at her fathers body, limp, smeared with blood and empty eyes staring back up at her. she nudged him again, trembling paws threatening to give out below the felines tiny body. no reaction. mink was shaking, choked sobs escaping her throat in between irregular gasps for air. where is mother? where is sissy? why is papa not waking up? dozens of unanswered questions plagued mink, her head was spinning, it was all too much. “p-papa? papa wake up please. please wake up” she choked out, tears now dripping down her face, she was frantic, fear pulsing through her like the disgusting slicky blood pooling by her fathers head once had.
blurred trees, the sky fell and met the ground, melting into deep grey fur, papa? where is papa? her head lulled to the side, muted green, brown slivers.

drip. the river was rushing beneath her.
drip. icy water soaked into her fur, she was cold.
drip. she opened her eyes, it was warm. above her towered shaded figures, her heart skipped a beat. was this what her mother had always warned her of? had the darkforest come to take one of theirs? had she sinned? why else would they be here? mother will be so disappointed.
drip. she blinked awake once again, the rustle of dry leaves was what had awoken her. it was warm. she wasnt alone. where was she? where is papa? blurred gaze caught on something orange. her mind felt heavy, stuffed to the brim with thick fog. or perhaps some of the icy water had gotten inside.
drip. her mind was clearer, it was cold again. mink turned her head, the dull grey sky came into view. what is happening? why cant she get up? she was scared.
drip. she was awake, ‘riverclan’ the cats had told her. why would mother leave her here? she went along with the strange cats, let some of them take her outside, left the den, the safe den, the only place she had seen in stars knows how long. she didnt protest, let them teach her their ways. she didnt trust them. why didnt they just kill her? she felt cold.
drip. half melted snow slid down a branch, following the drops of water to the ground where it splashed against the tree stump. it was better now. the cold wasnt as biting as before, and she felt warm inside. pinefire would teach her how to hunt, properly this time, and she could almost remember the other feline hovering around the same space she had slept a few moons ago.
drip. the rain washed away the last of the snow, the murmur of it echoed in the medicine den, tansypaw was gone. cobwebpaw wasnt.
drip. somewhere beyond the fog minkpaw could hear water dripping onto stone, she strained her eyes, the fog was thick and held her in a pleasant embrace. a large starry, transculent cat came into view, his fluffy fur dripping with what she could only describe as stars, they were everywhere around now. he wasnt warm, but the embrace counted none the less.
drip. the rain slammed down onto the floodstone, soaking into sandy ground and mixing with the blood splattered and pooling beneath limp bodies. its echo turned into a loud roar, bouncing off the walls of the medicine den, she turned to exit.
drip. blood dripped off her fur and onto the ground. it wasnt her blood.
drip. the sharp white pain of claws tearing through flesh pulled her out of her daze, she watched hot crimson liquid make its way to the ground, to combine with that of the other. for the first time in many moons, everything went black.
drip. the yowling of cats was what shook her awake, she stumbled, shoulders aching, blood soaked and sticky. she had to help.
drip. the smooth dark stones beneath her paws are unfamiliar. damp stones and fog. damp stones, fog and minkpaw. damp stones, fog, minkpaw and? a lithe freckled form emerges from the fog, expression cold and educated. minkpaw doesnt recognise them, but hushed words are spoken quick.
drip. everything was quiet, she lifted her gaze, off of rainpaw and away from birdsnow. fadingsun had spoken.
drip. she heard muddy water drip with every step, mud soaked and tired she dragged herself into a bush.
drip. she had confessed to marigoldkit, spilled her heart and admitted to the selfish beast lurking beneath grey fur, hidden by calm and substained by anger. no. no she hadnt. the kit couldnt handle the entire truth. it wasnt lying if she just kept bits to herself, was it?
drip. goldfishs voice seemed to drip in her mind with every breath she took, concern that wasnt hers pooling heavy in her lungs. she had to reveal herself. but what would goldfish say?
drip. the guilt sits deep in her spine, dripping and dripping, coating her insides with nothing but regret. mink reaches out to touch her nose to one of goldfishs kits, tiny and damp and deserving of so much more.
drip. there it is again. the low dripping of water on stone, surrounded by fog minkpaw cant figure out what actually causes the noise. marigoldkit is hurt, but understands. minkpaw loves her.
drip. lostspark leads her to shadowclan, the chirping of birds and the quiet sound of rain long forgotten sliding off leaves and branches and dripping onto the ground, were the only things keeping her company in the darkness. rocks clatter down the stones as minkpaw finds herself face to face with dawnstar. drip. drip. drip. rookpaw isnt stupid. not anymore. she sees herself faced with a chance, one she wasnt able to take the last time. one she wouldnt be able to take this time. she wants. she couldve been somebody. she could be somebody. minkpaw wouldve hoped and prayed, rookpaw doesnt hope. rookpaw wont get her hopes up. this is a lie, but one rookpaw is determined to make truth.
hope is what makes us strong, hope is what stabs us in the back. rook is no fool.
