Grim was knocked off the she-cat with a flurry of unsheathed claws. He was shocked a cat had attacked him, but instinct took over and it was quickly replaced by the need to get this stupid cat off of him. "Why, Jinx," he purred. "It seems you've found yourself a friend- a nice little protector." At the question, he grinned. "Why, I'm Grim! Nice to meet you on this nice day. I'm here to take back what this pretty feline-" he glanced in thw direction of a seething Jinx- "stole from me."

As Jinx was closing her eyes, preparing for death to take her, the weight on top of her vanished completely. Snarls echoed through her ears as she leaped upwards, whipping around to face the two toms. "I stole nothing," she hissed, her hackles lifting once more, her form in a sort-of-hunting crouch. "Call it a... string of bad luck, if you will. I guess you could say I jinxed you."

Thunder bared his teeth. "I am no one's FRIEND, and certainly not a PROTECTOR." He glanced up as Jinx spoke and let loose a small chuckle.

The beautiful calico found herself blushing a little bit at Thunder's chuckle. Was she.. embarrassed? Surely not! This was either a new feeling for her or an extremely rare one. Jinx had always been a flirt, but she'd never truly fallen in love with the victims. Flirting, for her, was just a way to get out of things and potentially life-threatening situations. Yes, these feelings would pass. They always did.

"Really?" The tom hissed, hostility building up inside him until he smoothed out his fur again. Blood trickled from the scratch on his cheek,
but he didn't flinch. Don't show weakness. "I beg to differ. Because there are two ways this can go. Either I kill her-" he flicked his tail at Jinx- "Or you die trying to save her. Then I'll just kill the her too. I win either way."

Jinx snarled at Grim once more, standing by Thunder's side. "You've lost today, Grim," she muttered, her voice like ice.
It was frightening that a she-cat could make that tone, being the flirt she was.

The large Tom lifted his claws gain and hissed. "Leave now, and I'll spare you," he spat. "Or stay and put up a fight, then lose. I've been dying to give someone a few scars they won't forget."

Grim shrugged at the feline's boldness. He turned around to walk away, calling over his shoulder, "oh, I'll go. But don't expect me to be gone forever. I'll be back to take what's mine, and then you'll be sorry you ever interfered."

As Jinx watched her enemy walk away, she sighed,
sweeping her long, thick tail over the dusty ground. "I shouldn't have let him bring you into that. Thanks anyway, though." She dipped her head.
"It was nice, getting to know you and all, but I really should go." And with that, the she-cat began to limp slowly towards the foliage, not totally sure where she would go, but knowing that if she left now, it would be the last time she ever saw those two toms. She had too many enemies to go on living in a group in this world. She'd just die soon anyway; why prolong her destiny?
