Dawnstar gave a low growl in response to Sunsnarl's explanation. She had said nothing that involved death, so why this featherbrain thought anything he said was correct made no sense to her. The leader wonder if he knew that you could starve a cat without killing them. "Vixenpaw, since you seem to have the mature this buffoon lacks, you can decide what his punishment is." Originally Dawnstar's was just going to shred his ears, but after a thought and the lack of interest he seemed to hold in her claws, wouldn't it be more humiliating to have to take your punishment from an apprentice. "You can choose whatever you want so long as it doesn't involve exile, he's a moron, but I need every cat with leafbare."

As she waited to hear what Vixenpaw had to say, she shifted her attention over to Ravenblaze who gave her more information on the twolegs. A grimace sat on her face as she heard that the twolegs had been on her territory. She knew they'd move closer eventually, but this was getting annoying. She didn't bother telling the cat that any serious brain damage or fatal wound such as a blow to the heart with multiple lives or not. But she left it at that. "Can you tell me which part of the territory you saw them in?"

Vixenpaw took a moment to ponder her options. She wanted to come up with something that would put the warrior in his place and please Dawnstar at the same time. A demotion wasn't a good idea because it had already been done and clearly wasn't working, but at the same time she needed something humiliating so that Sunsnarl would learn his place. And then it struck her.

"Sunsnarl can keep his name because demotion doesn't seem to be doing the trick, but he has to sleep in the apprentices den for the next half moon. He also has to catch at least one piece of prey every day or he sleeps outside in the cold and can only eat after everyone else in the Clan."

There. Since the warrior had suggested starving Maggotpaw to death now he would have a taste of his own medicine and go hungry until every last Clan in the cat had eaten. It wouldn't kill him, but it certainly wouldn't be pleasant during leaf-bare, and with pray scarce it would be a challenge to find something every day until his punishment was over. Hopefully Dawnstar would like what she had chosen.

"They were near the outskirts of the territory, where we often see twoleg activity. Those thundersticks also have the 'benefit' of making a cat go deaf for a while with their volume, even if they miss a silverstone first try, you'll get hit again when you're disoriented."

Ravenblaze didn't have much interest in Sunsnarl at all. Demotion, murder, starvation, working harder, it didn't matter when there were bigger issues at stake. Was the nervous warrior making a bigger deal out of it than was probably warranted? Possibly. Was being paranoid and ready better than being indifferent and dead? Absolutely.

(Just a note im very busy IRL and there's no way I could get on every day to RP him so I wouldn't be able to RP him catching prey every day.)

Sunsnarl barely held in his growl. "Of course." He mewed tartly, with a side glare at Vixenpaw. "You know I have a mate and kits too though." He mewed. "Would I be allowed to still have my mate, if I'm somewhat of an apprentice?" He asked.

[That's okay Chill, Jaxson, so long as you attempt to carry out the hunting punishment, even if you don't post every day, Dawn won't find any reason to further punish Sunsnarl.]

Dawnstar didn't bother trying to figure out why Ravenblaze had been training so close to the outskirts, instead, she simply noted the location and might speak to the clan if they moved any close to their territory. If these 'thundersticks' as Ravenblaze called them did make as much noise as of thunder itself, prey might be harder to come by. She'd have to see about directing more hunting patrols towards the Icy Heartlands if prey became scarce in their pine forest.

"Thank you, Ravenblaze, that's all." She dismissed her kin with a curt nod of her head and went back to regarding Vixenpaw and Sunsnarl as the apprentice came up with a punishment. Something like a demotion but not really? Dawnstar waved her tail back and forth thoughtfully but didn't bother challenging it. She had said Vixenpaw could choose.

"You can keep your mate and kits, aside from that and your name, you'll be treated like an apprentice for the next half-moon." She'd have to make sure to announce that to the clan. "When going hunting you need to bring another warrior with you." With that decided she gave the pair a dismissive wave of her paw done with them.

It was cold and boring, so Dawnstar figured now might be a good time to start separating the extraordinary from the average with some new ranks. She's gotten few reports about twoleges, so she was going to assume that they were slowly moving out further from her territory, thank the darkness. Her clan would be growing sloppy and wasting away if she wasn't making sure that they were fit and ready to start brawling again come the warmer seasons.

She hasn't had to kill or exile anyone in what felt like forever, and her body was filled with pent-up energy. So some of the events she had planned would be beneficial to both her and ShadowClan. Snow had fallen from the sky some time ago, covering ShadowClan in white, now would be a good time to ensure that her clanmates knew how to deal with the extra snowy addition amongst a number of other things.

"Let all old enough to lurk in the shadows join below the Shadowledge for a clan meeting." Her yowl ripped through the frosty air and demanded to be heard.

As she waited to be heeded, her tongue would occasionally dart out to lick at the new scabs along her cheek. They were large and noticeable and Dawnstar wore them as she did every scar, with pride. She always made sure to give worse than she acquired, Dawnstar was wondering how Bunnystar was faring. She'd see in due time.

"Dovekit, Crookedkit, Icekit, and Sharkkit, come forward it's time for apprentice ceremonies."

He lightly hopped out of the nursery with pride as he dashed over to the ledge, giving himself a quick grooming as he shakily stepped forward, glancing at Spiderwebpaw who seemed to be all excitement. Literally, the cat was shaking head to paw. Apprenticeship, okay. No panic. He cautiously looked around, his tail flicking in nervousness as his hackles slowly rised and fell. I said don't PANIC! His mind mewled loudly, making him stop to look at his leader. The tall dark figurehead seemed to be casting quite the intimidating shadow as he stood under it, basking in it's grace. His mind flicked about his new rank, wondering who he'd train with and what kind of mentor he would get. Okay okay okay okay, be quiet brain, it's my time to shine.

Foxkit peered out from the nursery. The small tom was new to this life and was still testing the waters. So far he has learned to not shred the moss bedding in order to not piss off his mother and that whenever the big scarred molly yowled everyone listened. The russet tom gingerly stepped out of the nursery and followed the sea of cats streaming to the large molly. Shadowing a fellow clanmate Foxkit made sure to not bother anyone else as he didn't want his mother cuffing his ears and lecturing him later on.
