What were they doing. Why weren't they helping him. He understood the importance of getting to the others, but by the stars he was dying and it hurt. He reached for Echopaw, trying to touch her to make her notice him but not quite being able to reach. Black spots swam in his field of vision, swarming faster when he moved, and he stopped with a shudder and a sensation felt as if he was going to be sick. "Everything hurts," he grunted softly.

Sighing, Sprigroot padded over to the toddler that was his new apprentice. He assumed this arrangement would be frustrating, time-consuming. Apprentices were never a good thing. Moody, Stubborn, irritable. “Try and be a bit less... you. Maybe more me? That would be awesome, and make your training go quite the more smoothly.” He touched the tip of his nose to Finpaw’s, nose wrinkling as he noticed the points of the apprentices appearance. So much less sleek and beautiful than Sprigroot’s amazing fur.
The gesture was short, and the King’s yellow eyes were purposely wandering from Finpaw’s ugly enesemble.

Beechkit didn't want to. Couldn't it just go away? Everything? She could hear Whisperkit and Snailkit in pain and wanting help. Gildingleaf still sad... the other cats around her almost blurred from her hearing. Echopaw addressed her and honestly the little grey tabby just wanted to ignore it. She didn't want to go away from her mom's fur. But, it seemed it was the only way to feel better. Beechkit pulled her bloody self from her mother, teary yellowish eyes finding the new cat. She said nothing. Just laid there, her unharmed leg outstretched to Whisperkit. He'd pulled back earlier but... she wanted to be touching someone she new... And he was hurting to.
Honestly, if she wasn't in so much pain Beechkit would have been livid. She hated this! All of it!
