High Rank Announcement [#hrannouncement]

Dawnstar went first. Bumblestar's eyes snapped over to the larger she-cat and then narrowed, and she kept her scowl trained on her until Twilightstar moved forward to speak.

Then Beanstar.

Now her turn.

With a lash of her tail, Bumblestar rose to her paws and moved forward to the edge of the stones.

"ThunderClan has gained several new apprentices this moon," she began, voice level. "Cherrypaw, Wildpaw, Lightningpaw, Leafpaw, Fawnpaw, Lambpaw, Lotuspaw, Fireflypaw, Sorrelpaw, Wolfpaw, and Sprucepaw have all begun their warrior training, 'n I expect it to go just fine.

"Additionally, Goldenhawk, Pebbleshine, Wolfmist, and Hazelflash have completed their training and earned their warrior names. The four of 'em have trained like hell for this moment, and I couldn't be prouder." She took a moment to find them out in the crowd, before she turned her gaze back to Dawnstar.

"Sparrowstar agreed to those terms of prey and reparations," she said flatly, "and as far as I'm aware, so did Thrushstar. I'm not my predecessors. Don't hold me to promises I didn't make."

Ivysnake. Ha. With a disinterested twitch of her ear, she turned her head away and shrugged dismissively. "If the first thing you do after losing a battle you started is cry wolf and murder, then that's on you. My Clan didn't touch your borders, nor did we lay a claw on your medicine cat.

"I also doubt any of my warriors would cross your border to attack any of yours—that's a consequence reserved for those who step over markers." A twitch of her whiskers. "If you can give me a name, I can deal with any potential idiots in question. If not, I can't do squat. Hope your warrior's holdin' up alright." She really couldn't care less.

She raised a paw to nibble at a piece of grass caught between her claws, then slowly lifted her gaze to meet Dawnstar's again. "If it's a war you want, then it's a war you're gonna get. I'll gladly take the chance to tear your throat out like I did last time you crossed us."

As soon as she finished speaking, there was a high-pitched WHIZZZZ in the distance, followed by several more. Bumblestar's ears flipped forward as she lifted her head to watch multiple flickering lines of orange-yellow streak straight up through the night sky.

Then with loud BANGS that rattled her chest and the stones beneath her paws, it seemed as if the very stars themselves exploded in blinding bursts of color.

unfortunatly the loud noises where to much for poor Halfpaw who unfortunatly wetted himself...

If Wolfpaw was already a little nervous about the huge crowd, the sky suddenly lighting on fire didn't help. He sprang up to his paws and took a beeline for Bumba, pelt spiked from fear. He didn't know what was going on but Bumba would keep him safe!!!

FALLOWREED:
Fallowreed was attentively listening, then jumped, flattening herself to the ground as the shapes and colours (ooc: /ref) were exploding in the sky.

OSPREYSPLASH AND LEAPMOON:
OspreySplash and LeapMoon were sitting together, whispering to eachother instead of listening. LeapMoon looked to the sky, eyes wide. "Ooh! Pretty!" OspreySplash covered her head with her paws, tucking closer to her sister.

IVORYNIGHT AND PEACHHEART:
IvoryNight was grooming his paw, while PeachHeart watched him lovingly. As the explosions went off, IvoryNight pulled PeachHeart closer, wanting to protect her.

"Why does it smell like fire and... pee?" the new warrior hissed. Ew.

Wolfmist had kept to himself for most of the gathering, mostly there to listen to announcements rather than to socialize. He was zoned out for most of it, keeping an ear out for anything interesting but not super invested. That is, until the sky decided to explode.

The warrior hit the deck immediately as the loud noises came again and again, their volume similar to when the Thunderwillow had been struck by lightning. He looked up to see bursts of colors exploding and then fizzling out into the black sky. Ok. Ok, he knew what these were. He hated, hated, hated them, but they wouldn’t hurt him. Ok.

He recalled how often in the middle of greenleaf many twolegs would show up to the sharpyard, even kits, and then these things would explode. The twolegs would put the dogs in the nest, which was nice because then Wolfie was able to roam freely. The sound meant there was no prey to catch in these times, but at least he didn’t have to be on the lookout for anything except overly-excited twoleg kits which would try to chase him down when not distracted by the colorful explosions.

Slowly he stood upright once more. Seeing the cats around him panicking didn’t do much to help with his anxiety, but at least he knew logically he wasn’t in any danger. In fact, he was much farther from them now than he was when his twolegs would play with the explosions. Did they not know what they were? Maybe not - maybe it was something that only happened near where the twolegs lived. Hmm, maybe he should go find his friends - to check on them, of course! Totally not because he was still kind of freaked out and wanted to be near people he knew.

“Well. Pebbleshine, nevermind then. And Congratula- The words getting cut off from the noises in the sky. BANG BANG BANG. It was like a lightning strike, just a super colorful one. Mumble was already on edge with the whole Hawkstar situation. But now this- Where was Stonepaw?! Where was he?!? No no no no. The calico shot up. Eyes locked onto the colorful stars. What the hell was the afterlife planning, what was happening. Was the sky falling?? Was this a sign from Hawkstar??? It had to be! It just had too. Ugh. Green eyes shooting across the clearing full of cats. Paws already in motion as he darted closer to Stonepaw, instantly calling out to the herbalist for any kind of response. “Stonepaw!” Tone clearly full of panic and urgency. Answer me. Answer me! Come on! Stonepaw say something.

She sat with the rest of Riverclan, not expecting any cats from other clans to come up and talk to her. (closed, sort of just posting to make sure she dosen't go missing)

Jaggedface didn’t really like to talk to other clans.
In doing so, she risked becoming friends with one, maybe even falling in love with a cat from another clan. So she kept to herself, silent as could be. She ignored the leaders talking. The summary of gatherings is just a peaceful break room for any drama where the leaders refuse to admit one tiny weakness. Just blabbing about their strength.

Jaggedface didn’t see how cats could find joy in a cat from another clan’s company.
Don’t get her wrong, the other clans were cool and unique, and she was at peace with them, not minding at all the mention of them. But she needed to stay loyal to Thunderclan and the code amongst all things.

Suddenly, a massive BOOM! went off in the sky followed with a colorful explosion. She wasn’t sure if she was amazed or horrified. How did twolegs make this stuff? Why did twolegs make this stuff? To scare us? She highly doubted that, maybe it was used for something useful. Maybe it had some sick purpose like a declaration of war. That made sense. Why else would they have it? To celebrate? Pshh, as if
