Sharppaw
The tom lounged in the apprentice's den. He was bored out of his mind. Why couldn't he get a mentor? He wanted a mentor SO badly! He sighed and got up to go do his chores.

The tom sat in a sunny spot. He was trying to relax. He hoped no one would disturb him.

Saltybreeze
He lounged on a warm rock, watching clouds float by. He was trying to make out shapes in them. There was one that looked like a rabbit, one that looked like a salmon, and one that looked like a pheasant. Man! This would be way more fun if someone was with me! he thought.

"Let all cats old enough to swim join here beneath the Bluerock for a clan meeting!" Rainstar yowled out to her clan, jumping onto the strangely blue stone. "Sharppaw, step forward." It was about time that the apprentice got a mentor. He'd make a good warrior one day.

The young apprentice stopped mid-stride as the leader called a meeting. Then she called his name. He stepped forward gladly.

Rainstar smiled at the apprentice. "Sharppaw, it's time you got a mentor." She looked around at her clan, until her eyes stopped on the warrior she'd chosen. "Stripedbranch. You shall be Sharppaw's mentor. I know that you will train him well. You are a strong warrior, and I know you will pass on your skills to Sharppaw."

Stripedbranch widened his eyes in astonishment. He dipped his head to his leader. "Yes, Rainstar." Then he turned to face his new apprentice, and bent down to touch noses with Sharppaw.

Mistcloud smiled, that was a fitting mentor. She was happy that sharppaw had a mentor, Stripedbranch was a magnificent warrior and would turn sharppaw into one too.
