Sage sat outside, on the porch of his human's house, listening to the birds chirping in the morning light and feeling the breeze blow his fur back. This was the kind of day he was used to. Wake up, eat, rest, pull a sled, go home, eat, rest, sleep, was his usual schedule. But something seemed different about today. It wasn't..loud..like it usually was. Everything was almost silent, except for the birds calling.

Hi there, pup. Searchlight barked, making the metal spikes on her collar rake her fur. Don't you wish you could run free?

Sage leaped to his paws, and, spotting Searchlight, he pinned her to the ground, slamming her muzzle against the wood as he barked angrily. Get away from my home! he snarled, wrinkling the fur on his muzzle. You don't belong here! The German Shepherd threw Searchlight against the back door of the house, his paws glowing white. You must leave here. Or I will kill you! he growled, pushing his paw onto Searchlight's throat.

Maybe in your dreams! Searchlight scoffed, tossing Sage easily off of her and hitting his head against the wood as she pinned him down.

She growled. What was this pup's problem?

Alright. Searchlight sighed. I'll make a deal with you. Join my pack, and you will become Beta. Deal?

The wolf narrowed her eyes. What the hell was with Sage?

Sage snarled as he was thrown to the ground. Who are you! he spat, snapping at Searchlight.

Let. Sage. go. a threatening voice growled. Moon stalked forward, whipping Searchlight to the ground and nuzzling Sage.

Sage got to his paws and rubbed against his friend, a friendly growl rumbling in his throat. I'm glad you came, Moon. This fool decided to trespass! snarled Sage, whipping around to point his muzzle at Searchlight.
