as far as i'm aware, you don't need to have a cat die via roleplay in order to have a dark forest/starclan character. I used to have a dark forest cat and i'm currently using one in starclan, and nothing has happened so far!
you also don't need to register deceased characters - I believe they're like outsiders, they don't require a form.
