Annabeth and Blue

Annabeth was strolling around her garden, enjoying the cool dew on her paws. It really was enjoyable. Her paws were always hot during the night, mostly because if the blanket that was always in her bed. No matter how many times she took it off, it was always there the next night. Soon, she just gave up.

She jumped into the fence surrounding her yard, and lifted her chin to catch the small morning breeze. Ahh, that was perfect. A cool breeze, a warm morning, and no annoying cats around to bother her. Just blissful peace and quiet.

Blue looked over from his yard to his neighbor, Annabeth. He had never really talked to her much, only the friendly nod or hello here and there.

Annabeth saw Blue out of the corner of her eye. She could see him looking at her, like always. She had never gone over to him, though. Never really saw the point. But Annabth was growing tired of seeing him staring at her all the time. Perhaps he would stop if she went over. She walked the distance of her fence and stopped at the edge, where there was a few feet of just grass before Blue's fence. "Hi, Blue," She meowed.

Blue's eyes lit up. Maybe this time she'd play with him. "Hi!" Mewed the 10 moon old tom. Despite his nearly 1 year in age, he still acted like a young kitten.

I am so going to regret this, Annabeth thought. She grinned quickly at Blue, silently sizing I'm up as she did. Not too bad. A bit energetic, but he was still a kitten. Made sense. "How are this fine morning?" She asked to make conversation.

Annabeth shrugged. "Fine. There's a new baby in the house. Real cute. So exhausting." She shivered. "It likes to pull my tail. My housefolk had to save me so many times. Sometimes I love the baby, but sometimes I just want to bite her, you know?"
