something had been tickling her mind recently, some vague inkling of something gone wrong. an unfamiliar feeling, a strange tingle that perhaps she should have paid attention to. it took a while to place, perhaps too long for her liking, but eventually she had figured it out. it was the least of her worries that her apprentices hadn’t sought her out, they could choose when they wanted to train, if they wanted to improve. it wasn’t her problem if they succeeded, she’d do her best to help those who wanted, but there was no need to beat a dead horse.

but where was said dead horse? she had seen one of the sisters around every now and then, but the other- the strange, angry one- where had she gone? it truly was a pity to lose her, regardless of their relation. a pity that the poor darling sister was all alone now. she had been so interesting, but oh well. with the current trend of shadowclan, it wasn’t a shock that heron had vanished, she had always seemed obscure, but starling hadn’t thought that she would leave her sister behind.

“mirepaw!” it was with sudden determination that she found herself peeking her head into the apprentices’ den, squinting her eyes through the dim light. “it’s been a bit. what say you about a little jog to the territory? get some training done, savvy?”

MIREPAW
she/her | shadowclan apprentice | 7 moons

Dozing in a nest with all of her limbs sprawled out and snoring loudly for all of her denmates to hear was Mirepaw. She was fast asleep, legs twitching as if she were dream-running. At first she didn't hear her name called, but then as the voice continued to speak she caught the last bit of it in a daze and slowly blinked up her eyes. "Huwha??" she mumbled sleepily, using the back of her paws to rub her eyes and squint towards the den entrance. In the faint outline of light she recognized the cat as her mentor, and a tired grin spread across her face.

She gave a biiiiiiiiig stretch and flopped over onto her paws, pushing herself up and bounding out to join the bigger cat. "Hi Starlingstreak! Yes, yes! I can jog! I bet I'm really fast, too!" As if to demonstrate she bounced quickly from paw to paw, an eagerness showing itself in her eyes. "Where're we gonna go? Can we go to the borders? Oh oh oh! Maybe we can go see the old camp!" She'd heard whispers of it in the nursery - honestly Mire was down for anything! Yay training!
