VenomWink watched the frail little Marigoldkit with a cold and calculating gaze. The she-cat had always been full of hatred and contempt for those weaker than her, and Marigoldkit was no exception. As she listened to the younger cat's rambling, VenomWink felt her patience wearing thin. With a flick of her tail, VenomWink turned and stalked away, her mind already racing with plans for how to deal with Marigoldkit and anyone else who dared to stand in her way. As far as she was concerned, there was no room for weakness or sentimentality in the world of cats. It was survival of the fittest, and she intended to be the fittest of them all.

As Marigoldkit retreated into the nursery, she began eating bitterly at the mouse that was thrown at her. That fact still astounded her, like a claw to the face.
The weirdly eerie thing about this cat that really got on her nerves was not only the fact that she could feel their gaze as the skidded hurriedly to shelter, but she also didn't even know their name, but Marigoldkit had a feeling that the cold she-cat did.
Maybe she could tell somecat. One cat, just one had to believe her. She'd (technically) been in this clan way longer than this other cat. The favoritism had to tip to her favor. And as much as Marigoldkit wanted to believe that, she doubted it. Unless they lay a claw on her there was no proof of hostility.
The thin she-cat groaned. "Why why why?" She murmured in between chews. She was grateful to finally be eating, but for some reason, the unease in her stomach wouldn't fade away.
