Okay, so I’m making a thread for people to discuss the ampleforth murder event if they want. Share theories, ideas, clues they have found, etc. Will try to mention people I have seen interacting with the characters. Sorry if I don’t mention you or if I do and shouldn’t have!

Ohhh this is a good idea! So here's what I've found out from different characters.

•=Things I've learnt myself
-=Things I've heard from other people

Lupine#
•Was invited to Ampleforth to set up an inn by the mayor on a buisness trip, seems to believe that they are trying to make the town better.
•Cries when asked about the mirror, says it just appeared there
•Check in book is full yet rooms haven't been occupied for long, speculates an employee is just playing a prank.
•Says magical fireworks show is a scam artist promoting something.
•Says medicine vials are for worst case scenario
•Remembered something when asked about accidents and took the left ring off their horn and said quite shakily Garrick has somejting in their possesion!

Rogan¿
•Doesn't like the mayor, thinks he's hoarding all the wealth while the rest of the town is in poverty.
•Not many people can afford to buy weapons and Garrick dropped some off recently.
•Sewers and it's ladders breaking every day, says he has to keep fixing them.
-Found an abnormally long human looking canine tooth.

Garrick¤
•Not too bothered about empty quest board, says if there's nothing there no one needs help.
•Doesn't know much about the broken mirrors, says that someone might be breaking them on purpose or on accident.

Orion#
-Doesn't know about the mirrors in the city hall but when she tries to remove them a great fear comes over her and she cannot even touch them.

The Mayor¿
-Says he doesn't have and has never had a wife yet had a wedding ring on his finger.
-Had flashbacks of an accident and Lupin and the man on the fireworks poster(could be the wizard) helping him

Theories
•Mirrors are related to memory lost, probability is someone has put a curse on them(I've caught wind that a travelling wizard merchant might be involved?)
•Vampires! Rogan found an abnormally long human canine and we all know what creatures have those!(plus they could have shattered the mirrors to hide the fact they had no reflection!) >:3(I got a hint it isn't vamps so this one is crossed out)
•Mayor is dressing up like a woman, perhaps pretending to be his own wife?
•Fireworks show and wizard dude are connected! He's the one running it and he knows Lupine and the Mayor!
•The medcine in the vials at HowlingInn could be what caused memory loss in the mayor and maybe the rest of the locals?
•Mirrors have a spell over them which make people feel powerful(usually bad) emotions when mentioned or approached.(at least over Lupine and Orion)
•The locals keep hearing a song in their heads, maybe that has something to do with memory loss?

Annnnnd that's everyone I've talked to so far! Will edit once I learn more! :3

I almost didn’t find anything — started yesterday :,( — but I’ll try to update this post as I get info.

Garrick:
- Said that the shattered mirrors “were gifts...no. They were equivelant to that of...barbed wires...”. He had a very strange attitude, then said what he said was nonsense. Maybe he wanted to keep someone out.

Rogan:
- waiting for a response…

Lupine:
- says the mayor doesn’t have a wife
- says there are rumours that the mayor plans on adopting a daughter
- cries when talking about the mirror, says it had always been there and that he just didn’t bother cleaning it.
- says the firework man is a scammer trying to promote
- says the medicine is in case “sickness strikes suddenly again”, then confused about what he said.


Mayor:
- N/A (I’ve heard that the mayor doesn’t have a wife though)

Orion:
- waiting for a response…

@Morrigan okay, so I think what we both need to do is find out who the wizard is. I had a word with the mayor and I’m pretty sure whatever has happened to the mayors wife also happened to lupine’s family. But where do you think we can get info about the wizard?

Right now I'm talking to Orion but I don't think this wizard is actually a wizard perhaps a Vampire or Vampire hunter since I've noticed some things. Vampires don't have a reflection which is why the mirrors are shattered so they can hide their identity and I imagine that's what the tooth Rogan found is. I don't know much else but it seems awefully sus. Good work finding out about the mayor! I would talk to Garrick perhaps...he seems a bit sus.

Mmhm I have talked to Garrick, he shooed me out and avoiding most of my questions.. let me try have another talk to him. It’s great working together with you! It means that hopefully we will be able to figure this whole thing out before tomorrow!

@Eucalyptuspaw & @Morrigan - there’s also something about the locals saying stuff and then being confused about what they say afterwards…
I only got two people to reply to me, but both did that. Garrick said the mirrors were like barbed wires, and lupine said the medicine was in case sickness struck suddenly.

It sticks with the theory that the mirrors could have erased some of their memory, and that sometimes these memories are able to come back?
E[dit: actually @/Morrigan already said that, but I didn’t read your theories when I wrote this, so I guess it’s probably a good one]

Or maybe the mirrors make them say stuff to remove any proof of a crime.
In any of these cases, I think the infos on where the locals were ‘possessed’ are probably important.

Maybe it isn’t the mayor? It could be a daughter, rumours are he wanted/wants to adopt one.

Lupine said “it is best to be prepared lest sickness strike suddenly again” about the medicine vials.
