How do I know I love him? [P]

Heathernose trotted out into the glade, the scent of flowers and prey surrounding her. She stopped under a singular tree among the sea of grass, and sat down. The moonlight made everything around her glow, and the gentle breeze made the grass look like the surface of water. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to be overcome by the calm of this place. Tonight was the night. She needed to give her answer to Lionscar.

Her heart pounded in her chest, but she tried to focus on the serenity around her and quiet her mind. She had been going back and forth with this all day. It made it hard to focus on her training with Snowpaw, and that wasn't something she wanted to allow to continue. If her performance as a warrior suffered, she wasn't serving her clan like she should be. Thankfully, she had only given herself until tonight. So, one way or another, she should be back to normal tomorrow.

She inhaled deeply through her nose, and then exhaled slowly from her mouth. Opening her bright green eyes to scan the glade for Lionscar. He should be here any moment now.

Heathernose turned to see Lionscar, slightly startled that she didn't sense his presence. "Lionscar." She said his name as she exhaled, feeling a bit relieved now that he was here. But now that he was here...she didn't know how or where to start. She shuffled her paws anxiously as she tried to think of what to say next.

Okay, so he's not going to open the conversation. Heathernose took a deep breath before continuing. "Well, I've been thinking about you said." She meowed, looking up to meet his gaze. She started to feel steadier as she met his gaze. "Lionscar, I said I'm not going to reject you and I meant it." She said. "While right now I'm not...totally sure about my feelings, I'm willing to give us a try." She paused for a moment to let Lionscar take in her decision. "You...you don't have to accept me like that if you don't want to." She added, now starting to feel embarrassed. "But...but I hope you will give me the chance."

Heathernose breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh good! Thank you, Lionscar." She purred, feeling heat rush to her face. Why did I say 'thank you' just now?? She'd never been in this situation like this before, and she couldn't help but feel flustered. I...I suppose we should try to be closer then. She hesitantly sat closer to Lionscar until she was able to lean on his shoulder. It was surprisingly...relaxing. She couldn't help but purr with content.

Heathernose looking up at Lionscar and tilted her head to the side slightly. There was a question she was dying to know the answer to, but wasn’t sure if it would be okay to ask. “Um…Lionscar?” She meowed. “Is it okay…if I ask you something too?”
