Lavenderleopard stuck her head in the apprentices´ den, pale blue hues landed on the familiar pelt of Crowpaw, her apprentice. ´´Crowpaw,´´ She mewed, her voice low as not to wake the other apprentices. ´´Territory tour. Let´s go.´´

The she’s ears perked up upon hearing her name…then an order. Great. She got herself out of her nest and crept out, careful to not disturb her own den mates, or worse, her siblings. “Here n’ ready!” she chirped happily to her mentor.

Lavenderleopard grinned approvingly as Crowpaw appeared at her side. ´´Good,´´ She mewed, thick, fluffy tail whisking happily. ´´We´ll be starting with Smallpines - RiverClan´s border with ThunderClan - to get it out of the way. Remember, because of the otters, stay at least four fox-lengths away from the border.´´

Lavenderleopard´s tail swayed behind her as she led Crowpaw to Smallpines, blinking in alarm at the apprentice´s question. She hadn´t been prepared for that.

Looking at Crowpaw, the warrior stopped four fox-lengths away from the border. Lavenderleopard searched for the right words before speaking.

´´Tense,´´ The gray-black Bengal meowed after a moment´s hesitation. ´´Especially since we´ve returned to our territory. You were still a kit when this happened, but prior to our exile, Stormstar - Dusklion, back then - killed WindClan´s previous Deputy, Fallownose, who was their Deputy before Crowtooth,´´ She explained, her voice soft as not to startle Crowpaw. ´´Of course, she was trialed. Multiple cats told Fadingstar to demote her from her position, and - being the stubborn cat that he was - Fadingstar let her keep her role.´´

´´I´m glad he did, though,´´ The RiverClanner murmured softly. ´´Without Stormstar, RiverClan wouldn´t be strengthening itself right now.´´

Lavenderleopard paused for a moment. ´´Tell me what you learned about ThunderClan as a kit. I´ll add to that information.´´

Tense. Tense stated her mentor. Does that mean another battle—war even was a possibility now? If it was on the line she wanted to learn how to fight. She needed to fight for her clan, for her family, little Raccoon. She had to know how to fight for it all.

And StormStar- The Amazing StormStar…killed the deputy of WindClan? That should be a reason to get demoted, but CrowPaw was happy she didn’t. She was leading the clan damn well. One of the things FadingSun actually did correct…huh? She heard much bad of the ex-leader that it was shocking to her that he got the role in the first place.

All of a sudden she was put on the spot, being quizzed. All she knew of ThunderClan, huh? Uh-oh…dig through your memory CrowPaw! Quick! “Well- uh…they live in a more dense forest which is better for them…cause they’re like…really good at climbing typically, as we are swimming.” she explained the typical clan traits. Goodness, what else, what else? Ah- prey. Yes- yes prey. Mostly woodland creatures she believed. “Common preys are…squirrels, mice, and…” she had to crunch her mind for the last one. “Voles! Yes voles. Occasionally birds…and rabbits and stuff too.” she didn’t know much about ThunderClan…or any clan but her own really. She knew basic stuff and the high ranks, but her knowledge didn’t extend far.

A purr of approval rolled in Lavenderleopard´s chest and throat as Crowpaw spoke of the information she knew.

´´Yes, that is correct,´´ She blinked warmly at the black-and-white she-cat. ´´However, there is some information I´d like to add.´´

´´ThunderClan cats are vicious. They fight dirty, and they will drive you into the brambles, if we were to fight them in their territory,´´ The Bengal meowed, voice firm. ´´That is one advantage we have against them if we fight them in our territory - we know it, they do not. They use their climbing skills to their advantage during battle, just as we do with our swimming techniques. ThunderClan cats will drop down on you from above within battle, and if you aren´t fast enough, it´ll do a lot of damage.´´

She listened to her mentor with perked ears. Their battle techniques—that was important to remember, yes? Of course! If we were to ever fight them, it’s best to know their strategies! “So…try to stay in our territory, they fight dirty, watch out above you, and in their territory they drive others into brambles? Okay- got it.” she summarized confidently, trying to cram all the information into her brain.

“How does WindClan fight? Oh- and ShadowClan?” she questioned, now eager and hot on the topic.

Lavenderleopard blinked approvingly as Crowpaw summarized her information. ''Good, that is stuff you will need to know in the future,'' The Bengal commented. ''I will talk about them whenever we reach their borders. For now, let's head to Saltmeadow Marsh. That is our border with ShadowClan.''

Arriving at Saltmeadow Marsh, the RiverClanner paused a few fox-lengths away. ''Don't get too close,'' Lavenderleopard warned Crowpaw, rolling her shoulders. ''Like ThunderClan, ShadowClan cats are vicious; maybe even more than ThunderClan ever will be. Like ThunderClan, they live in a forest. However, instead of their forest having oaks and birches and maples like ThunderClan's, their territory consists of pines, conifers, and evergreens.''

She blinked, turning her gaze to her apprentice. ''Tell me what you know about ShadowClan.''
