The tabby tom had been puttering about camp for a while now, not quite being able to settle down at all. He had not tripped over his own feet so far, a great feat if you asked him, and only stopped when he nearly ran into a young kit. He blinked a few times, looking at the little brownish tom-kit, and smiled.

"Heya there, bit far from the nursery dontcha think?" he inquired, tilting his head.

Otterkit lay in the Riverclan camp clearing, once again. The nursery was too crowded for the small kit, too small. All the noises and kits yelling and playing combined with the suffocating nursery walls was too much for him. The tom-kit laid down with his eyes closed, enjoying the sun on his fur. Otterkit's brown fur glistened like a setting sun.

Feeling a presence and a shade, yellow eyes opened hesitantly. Friendly blue eyes stared back at him and he squinted at them. "Mmr?" He let out a confused purr. Far from the nursery? Did this grey cat not also feel stuffy in that crowded place? Otterkit nodded slowly, paused, then shook his head.

The tabby warrior tilted his head again at the kit's odd noise. Surely he was old enough to speak? Or, maybe he didn't like to talk. Rainfoot himself had such moments.

"Well, can you nod your head if you're alright, at least?"

The brown kit nodded and tilted his head. He wasn't used to being fussed over. Otterkit scrambled to his paws and inspected the warrior. He wasn't sure of the name but he's seen them around before. The grey tabby always seemed..very...sociable. Otterkit couldn't place it but he felt warm under their blue gaze.

The small brown kitten lifted himself on his hind legs and laid a paw on the cat's nose. Of course the cat wont know it but if he could somehow pass on his social skills maybe Otterkit can still be an apprentice. Maybe he could be normal.

The warrior smiled at the much younger cat's inspection. He standed carefully still, compliant to the kit's very important determination of whether he wanted to stick around or not.

It seemed the outcome was positive, when the little tom-kit's paw was pressed against Rainfoot's nose. The warrior nearly sneezed, but just laughed in amusement while holding back such a reaction instead. What funny little things kits were.

"What's that for?" he asked, expecting no answer in return as he remained carefully still as to not knock Otterkit off balance. The kit was quite nice, he thought, if not a little bit odd. But, then, Rainfoot was quite the odd individual himself.

The kit moved slightly as the cat laughed slightly. He lingered on the warrior's nose a bit longer before removing his brown paws.

He stumbled backwards on his hind-legs but regained his balance and landed on his paws. Otterkit let out a grumble of the surprise of his balance.

He got a little worried for a moment when the kit stumbled, and then smiled when his little brown paws met the ground again. He shook his head and his tail flicked a smidge.

"Careful there." he said, althouh it sounded odd for him to say such adult-y words. It made him double-take. "Do you like any games?" he tried, attempting to start a conversation. Which would be hard if Otterkit didn'tw wanna talk.

Otterkit appreciated the warriors worried words. The brown kit nodded, he did like playing games. He loved pretending to fish with a leaf, he'd collect flowers and shells and he would watch cats in the clearing and in the nursery. All of it by himself. It was better that way, he wouldn't need to see their disappointed faces when he didn't chat with his denmates.

But that's not the point, is it? He was being offered a chance to interact with a warrior he'd come to admire a bit. He cleared his through and muttered something. "..Badger..r-ride?" his voice squeaked.
