Shrewstep is finally useful (Private)
Territory tour territory tour territory tour. Shrewstep was ready to rock and roll, having slept well the night before, and was bouncing up and down slightly as he spoke to Silkpaw. Ok! So! Tour! he chirped, smiling at his apprentice. We're going to head to the Thunderclan border first, and then work our way along to Riverclan and Windclan. On the way back we can stop at the Evergreen Grotto and Darkwater Mire too! He was especially excited for the grotto, he liked to relax there when given the chance. They wouldn't be relaxing, but it was so NICE. It just....made him happy.
First, Thunderclan though! Figuring that he could explain that clan while they walked, Shrewstep headed out of camp, moving along as swiftly as his short legs would allow. At least Silkpaw was young, and so wouldn't be full sized just yet. We've currently got no major problems with Thunderclan, and we worked with them to get rid of Riverclan for the moment. But Bumblestar's a bit wild, even if she's got her clan more under control than past leaders have done. Spiderthroat, the deputy, was also a bit of a wildcard, but again. Much better than any of the preceding leaders, so Shrewstep wasn't going to complain. Riverclan were the ones who had inherited the title of 'most dysfunctional' so they would be getting the tongue lashing. But for now, they had arrived at the Thunderclan border, and he paused to give Silkpaw a nice change to look around. @ Abyssopelagic

Re: Shrewstep is finally useful (Private)
Silkpaw stiffened as Shrewstep excitedly called him over. It wasn't Shrewstep that had him stressed as much as the loudness.
But the lilac-point held his tongue and followed after his mentor, keeping enough of a distance that his mentor's voice was at a volume he liked, and could concentrate on.
As Shrewstep excitedly chirped about their relations with ThunderClan, his half tail swished. It was the most he'd ever been told about life outside of ShadowClan territory, and it was something he was very interested in.
How different were the other Clan's? We're they similar, different only by name, or did they walk under different skies entirely?
Shrewstep didn't seem to have much to say about them, it seemed. Or maybe he didn't want to bore him?
"What about the rest of the High Ranks? What are they like? And why does the Clan listen to Bumblestar but not the past leaders?"

Re: Shrewstep is finally useful (Private)
(I'm going to bully you with overly long answers then!) @ Abyssopelagic
Hehe, Silkpaw seemed to have some energy! Shrewstep didn't mind the questions, always willing to prattle on about nothing and everything at once, and responded with verve. Spiderthroat, the deputy, has had some.....issues with keeping the peace in the past, killing cats for trespassing and pissing off the other clans in the process. Drizzlecloud and Springlight are nice enough though! But they're medicine cats, they kind of have to be nice. It's sort of their job. Although he supposed Ebonyfang, no, Marigoldleap, had never been particularly nice. Or Elmshadow. Or Ivysnake. Mossfreckle seemed friendly enough though. He wasn't sure about Grousepaw.
The reason no one before Bumblestar really got listened to was because they were never around long enough to get a bunch of authority. Like, they'd become leader and then die, or leave, or step down or something. At least he was fairly certain that had been the situation. That's the reason Shadowclan's so stable, there aren't even many cats who remember pre-Dawnstar, so they'd never think of revolting against her. They don't know anything else. Windclan's like that too. Thunderclan's getting towards that point. Riverclan....not so much. Hence why they were always causing problems, ignoring Fadingstar, and ultimately had to be evicted from the forest. We'll head in that direction now. Shrewstep added, fairly certain that he had provided a decent summary of what was going on, and they could head towards what had been Riverclan territory whilst Silkpaw (presumably) inquired about their dysfunction.
