´´Alright, Bumblepaw,´´ The warrior mewed as he led his apprentice out of camp. ´´We´ll be starting with a tour of the territory. In order to hunt, you´ll need to know the best places that the prey runs - and swim.´´

Thrushsong blinked at the rosette apprentice, emerald hues narrowing ever so slightly. ´´Just to be safe, we´ll be starting with the borders first. Right now, we´re headed to Sedgewater Valley, our border with WindClan.´´

Bumblepaw blinked slowly as she followed her mentor throughout RiverClan Territory, contemplating Thrushsong´s words. The Bengal she-cat was silent for a brief moment of thinking before she responded to him.

´´....Is WindClan dangerous?´´ Icy hues flicked over to the gray-and-white mackerel tabby. Bumblepaw´s thick, fluffy tail hang low, swaying behind her.

Thrushsong frowned. He had hoped that Bumblepaw wouldn´t ask that question, but then again, she was an apprentice. It was her job to ask him questions.

The gray-and-white mackerel tabby RiverClanner blinked, green eyes narrowing further. ´´Most of the time, WindClan isn´t a threat,´´ Thrushsong replied, his voice wary. ´´However, don´t take that as if they won´t become one at some point. They´ve been a threat before, and I wouldn´t put it past them to become a threat again.´´

Rolling his shoulders, Thrushsong stopped at the border. ´´Here we are, Bumblepaw. Sedgewater Valley.´´

Again, Bumblepaw blinked. Her pale blue eyes widened at the sight of the wide valley that was RiverClan´s border with WindClan. ´´Woah,´´ the blackish-gray Bengal whispered softly, wonder pooling in icy hues. ´´It´s huge, Thrushsong!´´

Thrushsong chuckled, a purr rolling in his throat. ´´Yeah, it´s pretty big,´´ The warrior looked at his apprentice through emerald hues. ´´Okay, Bumblepaw. Back on track.´´

The tom´s ears flicked. ´´I want you to take in the WindClan scent markers, get to learn how they smell,´´ Thrushsong instructed with a wave of his tail. ´´Also take in the scent of rabbits, and birds. Grouse, for example. That´s the type of prey that WindClan eats. However, unlike WindClan, we RiverClanners eat fish. Eating the fish is what keeps our fur so sleek, but it does have its burdens. For example, the smell that they give us.´´ He wrinkled his nose. The fish did give RiverClan a smell, but unlike the other Clans, they were used to it.

Curled ears flicking at her mentor´s instructions, Bumblepaw parted her jaws ever so slightly. WindClan scent, rabbit scent, and grouse scent overflowed the RiverClan apprentice´s scent glands at once, causing Bumblepaw to flinch back.

´´It´s all so....´´ The Bengal paused, searching for the right word. ´´....overwhelming. How does WindClan put up with it?´´

Frowning, Thrushsong shrugged. ´´I have no idea,´´ He mewed in response to Bumblepaw´s remark. ´´I´m not a WindClan cat.´´

Moving on, Thrushsong rested his tail tip on Bumblepaw´s shoulder. ´´Let´s carry on. We´ll head to Saltmeadow Marsh from here. It´s closer than Smallpines.´´

As the two cats arrived at the border, the warrior wrinkled his nose at the strong stench of ShadowClan. A patrol must´ve just passed. ´´Ugh..´´ Thrushsong muttered, ears flattening ever so slightly in annoyance. Should´ve took her to Smallpines first. That would have given these ShadowClan markers some time to calm it down a notch.

As soon as the reached Saltmeadow Marsh, Bumblepaw almost retched. ´´Yuck!´´ The apprentice spat, giving a single lash of her tail. She wrinkled her nose. ´´What is that?´´ The RiverClanner glanced at Thrushsong.
